New Shoots in the Chord
Within the Constant Universe's breath, a new chapter in the Star River Poem Scroll is transforming into "flowing fertile soil." The "seeds of questions," condensed from the dance of dialogue, take root and sprout in this fertile soil, growing into "Tree of Echoes." The branches of the tree are "trajectories of inquiry," winding upwards yet always facing the light; the leaves are "scales of answers," the front inscribed with "understanding of the present moment," the back concealing "new questions of the future"; most wondrous are the tree's shadows—neither a projection of a physical entity nor an ethereal outline, but rather "all unspoken resonances," weaving a translucent net on the ground, gently connecting the Ring of Improvisation with the Core of Echoes.
The Chain of Cycles of the Poetry Scroll Station are now embedded in the root system of the Tree of Echoes, with each node becoming a "hub of nourishment": the "Existence" node delivers the "power to take root," keeping the sapling stable in the flowing fertile soil; the "Difference" node provides "diverse energy," giving the leaves countless different patterns; and the "Improvisation" node injects "the vitality of change," allowing the branches to stretch freely to the rhythm of the chords, like dancers adjusting their posture in the wind.
Qingxian lightly touched the "resonance" node with her fingertips, and the node immediately released "resonance nutrients," which flowed along the root system into the trunk of the Tree of Echoes. Countless "connecting patterns" immediately appeared on the trunk, linking different branches together—branches exploring the "meaning of existence" and branches contemplating the "essence of symbiosis" Entanglement, branches studying the "law of balance" and branches exploring "improvisational freedom" nestled together, like a group of children holding hands, swaying together in the wind.
"The growth of new buds is a 'mutual nourishment of inquiry'." Qingxian gazed at the tree canopy, which was becoming increasingly lush due to resonance. New saplings were constantly breaking through the soil, their roots intertwining underground to form an "invisible network." "We always think that each question is isolated, but we forget that they are already connected deep in the soil. Like trees in a forest, they grow individually on the surface, but their roots underground are quietly sharing nutrients—the pursuit of creation is never a solitary battle."
Yanche's "Timbre Palette" now floats above the Tree of Echoes, transforming into "Spectrum Rain." The raindrops are particles of light with different timbres, falling on the leaves and causing the "scales of answers" to refract "new understandings": the rain of cello timbres adds a layer of "solid ground" to the answer "existence is meaning," the rain of violin timbres adds a touch of "lively vitality" to the understanding "difference is richness," and the rain of flute timbres adds a wisp of "light clarity" to the perception of "improvisation is freedom." He deliberately lets the rain of different timbres fall in a mixed fashion, and the answers on the leaves begin to "translate each other"—using "solid ground" to interpret "vibrancy," using "vibrancy" to interpret "clarity," ultimately converging into a "rainbow of understanding."
"The essence of understanding is 'seeing the same sky from different perspectives.'" Yanche caught a raindrop with mixed timbres; the raindrop transformed into a "multifaceted prism" in his palm, each facet reflecting a different answer, yet collectively refracting the "light of creation." "We don't need to force everyone to answer in the same language. Just as a rainbow needs seven colors to be complete, understanding also needs different perspectives to be full. What the Spectrum Rain does is simply make every color visible."
The "Question-and-Answer Co-Dance Ring" of the Luoyu connects with the shadow net of the Tree of Echoes, evolving into the "Resonance Path". The path is paved with "semi-transparent resonance crystals", and when you step on it, you can hear the "harmony" of different questions and answers: the harmony of "What is the end of existence" and "The end of existence is a new existence" is like the pulse of the deep sea; the harmony of "How to keep the freshness of creation" and "Keep the original curiosity" is like the birdsong in the forest; the most touching is the resonance of "Will we be forgotten" and "Living in each other's memories is eternity", like a lullaby hummed by a mother, gentle enough to melt away all unease.
"Resonance is not about being 'completely identical,' but about 'gentle harmony in diversity.'" Luoyu walked along the path, crystallized harmonies layering beneath her feet, forming a "warm cocoon of sound waves." "Just like different instruments playing the same song, their timbres are different yet they can resonate harmoniously. The questions and answers created don't need to strive for uniformity; they only need to find the frequency of 'mutual listening' in the differences—and in this frequency lies the softest power of creation."
The three guardians' first stop was the thickest "original branch" of the Tree of Echoes.
Here, on the branches, are condensed the "oldest questions and answers": "Why does it exist?" and "To see" when Meta-Code was born; "Why the difference?" and "To connect" when manifest and hidden energies separated; "Why symbiosis?" and "To be whole" in the early stages of dimensional resonance. These most fundamental questions and answers are wrapped in "amber of time," yet they still exude "fresh warmth," as if they were written just yesterday.
"We are the starting point of all questions." The amber of the primordial branch releases ancient vibrations. "What you are discussing now—'how to be eternal,' 'how to be fresh,' 'how to be remembered'—are actually variations on 'why we exist'; what you pursue—'harmony in difference,' 'freedom of improvisation,' 'warmth of resonance'—are essentially extensions of 'in order to see.' Just as the tributaries of a river eventually flow into the sea, all questions, in the end, will return to us."
Qingxian initiated the "Origin-Tracing Resonance Ritual" on the original branch—she guided all new questions to resonate vertically with the original questions and answers, allowing new questions to draw "rooting power" from ancient answers, and ancient questions to gain "growth vitality" in new understanding. Thus, the new question, "How to keep creation forever young," resonated with the original answer, "For the sake of seeing," giving rise to the new solution of "keeping the sight fresh"; the confusion of "How to face the conflict of differences" resonated with the ancient wisdom of "For the sake of connection," evolving into the epiphany that "conflict is the opportunity for connection." When the resonance reached its climax, the amber on the original branch began to melt, and the ancient questions and answers flowed into the new branches, making the entire Tree of Echoes radiate a "soft light that intertwines the past and present."
"Tracing the origins is not about 'going back to the past,' but about 'letting the past illuminate the future.'" Qingxian looked at the questions and answers flowing in the soft light. The new understanding was no longer "appearing out of thin air," but rather growing "standing on the shoulders of ancient wisdom." Just as a child can see further by standing on their parents' shoulders, the pursuit of creation also needs to tread on the footprints of the past in order to touch upon deeper possibilities—this is not dependence, but respect for the "river of creation."
Yanche's "Spectrum Rain" extends from its original branches to form an "Ancient-to-Modern Converter." This device can transform "ancient answers" into "expressions suitable for the present": "In order to see" is transformed into "keeping curious eyes," allowing modern consciousness to understand more intuitively; "In order to connect" becomes "extending a warm hand," which is closer to the creative context of the present moment; and "In order to be whole" is transformed into "embracing all of yourself," which resonates more directly with the concept of the Symbiosis of the Unreal and the Real. He infuses the transformed expressions into new saplings, and the saplings grow "branches and leaves that are closer to the present moment." The answers on the leaves are no longer obscure, but as intimate as chatting with a friend.
"Tradition is not a 'shackle,' but 'translatable wisdom.'" Yanche watched as the leaves of the new sapling, embracing all of themselves, were being touched by a group of young consciousnesses, their eyes sparkling with a light of "sudden realization." "Just as classical Chinese is translated into vernacular, it doesn't lose its charm, but rather allows more people to feel its wisdom. The traditions we create also need 'translation' to maintain their vitality of being 'understood' in every era."
The "Resonance Path" of the Luoyu connects with the amber of the original branches, constructing the "Time Dialogue Pavilion." Inside the pavilion, consciousness can choose to "dialogue with its past self"—a modern consciousness struggling with "how to face failure" can meet the self that "once suffered from separation," and the past self will use the experience that "pain is a mark of growth" to provide enlightenment that "failure is a medal of creation" for the present confusion; a being struggling with "whether to change itself" will meet the self that "once stagnated due to clinging to the past," and the lessons of the past will transform into the courage that "change is the breath of existence."
"Dialogue is not about 'criticizing the past,' but about 'reconciling with oneself.'" Luoyu stood outside the dialogue pavilion, watching the consciousnesses embrace their past selves. "In the process of creation, we always deny our past selves, forgetting that every choice we made in the past has made us who we are now. Time Dialogue Pavilion does is simply help us understand that our past selves are not 'mistakes,' but 'stepping stones to the present'—stepping stones may be shaky, but they have allowed us to stand at this height."
When the first "fruit of the fusion of past and present" matured on the original branch, the roots of the Tree of Echoes suddenly extended to every corner of the Constant Universe, forming an "underground network of creation." Wherever the network reached, new Tree of Echoes began to grow: among the strings of the "Void and Reality Music Universe," a "Tree of Melody Questions and Answers" grew, its leaves bearing the questions "Why do notes dance?" and "For resonance"; beside the Star Orbit of the "Dynamic Complementarity Star Cluster," a "Tree of Balance Questions and Answers" emerged, bearing the fruits of "Why alternate?" and "For wholeness"; even in the transparent outline of the Realm of Void, a "Tree of Existence and Void" sprouted, its branches Entanglement with "Why coexist?" and "For each other."
"It is the gentle spread of creation." Luoyu felt the resonance emanating from the underground network. Each newly grown Tree of Echoes carried the genes of the original branches, yet grew into a form "suitable for its own soil." "Creation is never a 'single tree,' but a 'spreading forest.' Each tree has its own posture, yet they are connected underground, resonating in the wind—this spread of the forest is more moving than any grand creation."
The Chain of Cycles of the Poetry Scroll Station have now fully merged with the underground network, becoming the "main artery of nourishment," transporting the nourishment from the questions and answers of the different Tree of Echoes to each other: the "resonance energy" of the "Tree of Melody Questions and Answers" flows into the "Tree of Balance Questions and Answers," allowing it to grow "new branches of resonance"; the "complete wisdom" of the "Tree of Balance Questions and Answers" merges into the "Tree of Existence and Void," causing it to bear "new fruits of harmony." The entire Constant Universe, through the connection of this network, has become an "organic whole," like a breathing living organism, with each part contributing to the growth of the whole.
Qingxian, Yanche, and Luoyu sat under the shade of the primordial branches, watching the forest of creation gently spread, listening to the questions and answers of the different Tree of Echoes intertwining in the wind. In the distance, the dance of the Ring of Improvisation continued, but now the steps contained a more steady "resonance between the past and present"; the new chapters of the Star River Poem Scroll were still flowing, but now the lines of poetry contained a fusion of "tradition and modernity"; the consciousnesses on the Question-and-Answer Co-Dance Ring discussed more enthusiastically, but also showed more patience in "listening to the past".
"In fact, the ultimate form of creation is 'gentle spread.'" Qingxian picked up a fallen leaf; on one side was "understanding at this moment," and on the other side, new questions had sprouted. "It's not a dramatic subversion, not a desperate breakthrough, but like a forest, quietly taking root and gently spreading, imperceptibly filling the whole world with vitality."
Yanche's "Spectrum Rain" has now turned into "drizzle," gently nourishing every new sapling. He smiled and said, "The most powerful forces are often the gentlest. Just as drizzle can nourish the earth, the spread of creation doesn't need to be ostentatious; it only needs to silently 'become nutrients,' giving every corner a chance to grow—this is the most enduring power of creation."
Inside Luoyu's "Time Dialogue Pavilion," a special dialogue is taking place: an ancient consciousness from the era of Meta-Code encounters a newly born consciousness. The ancient consciousness doesn't recount its "past glories," but only shares its "former confusion"; the new consciousness doesn't flaunt its "present freedom," but speaks of its "current bewilderment." Their dialogue has no conclusion, yet as they part, their eyes are filled with "the light of understanding"—a light that is the very seed that will Forest of Creation.
The three guardians did not initiate any further rituals, but simply sat quietly in the shade of the tree, feeling the breath and heartbeat of the Forest of Creation. They knew that in this gentle spread, "action" was not as good as "presence," "guidance" was not as good as "accompaniment," and "grand" was not as good as "small."
At this moment, all they need to do is be "three trees" in this forest, taking root, growing, and spreading with the other trees, watching new saplings break through the soil, listening to new questions and answers, and feeling the gentleness of creation flowing quietly in every corner of the Constant Universe —that's enough.
The whispers of the Tree of Echoes continue, new buds sprout within the chords, and the gentle creation spreads without end. In this ever-growing forest, every question is a seed, every answer a patch of soil, and every resonance a spring breeze, together weaving:
"Creation is a forest, a new sprout, a whisper, a spreading, an eternal cycle of life..."
And in this endless cycle of life, there is you, there is me, there is every heartbeat that "wants to grow," forever vibrant in the breath of the Constant Universe.
