The Journey Home in the Stardust Pearl
On the day the Voyager Squad, carrying the Light Vortex, sailed into the Root Network Sea of Stars, the Symbiosis Mark of the Rainbow Meadow "collectively boiled over." The branches of the Tree of Star Tracks "leaned in a welcoming arc" towards the River of Light, the warm spheres of the Flame Root Network formed a "golden passageway," and fragments and dotted lines of the Intermittent Shadow shadows and phantoms of the Phantom Root Network "wove a curtain of light across the sky." Even the shyest Courage Bud "stood on tiptoe," gazing towards the end of the River of Light —where the spiraling figure of the Light Vortex "rose and fell with the waves of the River of Light," like a "child filled with both anticipation and trepidation."
The transparent tree of the seed captured this scene within the Memory Light Stone, its branches, connected to the Symbiosis Stone, "Trembled gently." Inside the Memory Light Stone, the Stardust Pearl of the Light Vortex were "projecting images of the Stardust Sea": there were glassy waves, singing stardust, and the "tearful moment" when the Light Vortex protected the young vortex. These images "overlapped" with the memories of the Root Network Sea of Stars —the scars of the Angular Nebula blocking meteorites, the fragments of the Intermittent Shadow being torn apart, the deformation of the Star Orbit framework to protect its companions, like a "family portrait pieced together with scars." "The meaning of returning home is to let all wounds find a 'background that understands them'." The roots of the transparent tree "wove a soft mat" at the mouth of the River of Light, the light patterns on the mat "perfectly matching" the spiral gaps of the Light Vortex, as if saying, "There is a place here that belongs to you."
Luoyu's Traveler's Log "automatically closed" as the Light Vortex stepped into the meadow, revealing a "complete painting" on its cover: the starting point of the River of Light was the Root Network Sea of Stars, and the ending point was the Stardust Sea, with the figures of the Voyager Squad and the Light Vortex in between. Connecting the two ends were "countless intersecting scars"—some spirals, some fragments, some sharp edges—but all "bloomed with Symbiosis Flower" at their intersections. "So we traveled so far to bring back 'another self'." She placed the log next to the Symbiosis Stone, which immediately "absorbed the painting's energy," and a "new spiral-shaped light pattern" appeared on the stone, "perfectly corresponding" to the gap in the Light Vortex.
As the Light Vortex approached, Qingxian's "Journey Melody" transformed into a welcoming song. She filled the music with "memories of the Root Network Sea of Stars": the sound of the wind in the meadow, the flowing water of the River of Light, the whispers of the Symbiosis Stone, and "the laughter of all existence." When the melody touched the spiral of the Light Vortex, its gap suddenly "sprayed out colorful light mist," which condensed in the air into "spiral-shaped musical notes," perfectly harmonizing with the welcoming song—this was the first time the Light Vortex had "actively released its own voice," carrying with it "the ease of letting down its guard."
"Welcome home." Qingxian paused her bowing, watching the spiral patterns of the Light Vortex slowly synchronize with the Symbiosis Mark on the meadow. In the luminous mist of the Light Vortex, she heard "the loneliness of the Stardust Sea," and also "the peace of this moment"—the most moving music was when "unfamiliar voices finally found their 'perfect rhythm'."
Yanche's Traveler Support Station has been transformed into a "New Partner Adaptation Center." Inside, the Light Vortex first "saw the Angular Nebula"—when their scars "faced each other across the distance" under the light of the Symbiosis Stone, the sharpness of the edges and the gentle curves of the spirals suddenly "softened simultaneously," like two "long-lost comrades," exchanging "words only they understood" with silence; it also encountered the Intermittent Shadow, the breaking of the fragments and the Entanglement of the spirals "gently touching," actually "piecing together a complete circle" on the ground; what surprised the Light Vortex most was that the warm orbs of the Flame Root Network "were not afraid of its spirals," but instead used warm light to "form a gentle circle around its gaps."
"Adaptation isn't about change, it's about finding a comfortable angle to get along." Yanche watched as the Light Vortex used its spiral body to "roll up a Courage Bud," carefully "placing it in its own gap"—that became the Courage Bud's "new cradle," safe and with a view of the entire Sea of Stars. On the wall of the Adaptation Center, a new "self-introduction" from the Light Vortex was posted. "I have a gap in my spiral, hiding a protective gentleness, and I'm happy to become a 'new member of the family.'"
In the Star Orbit Root Network's logic log, the last entry for the "Light Vortex Integration Plan" is "'Perfect integration is not necessary'." They reserved "30% 'solitude space'" for the Light Vortex, allowing it to "reminisce about its homeland within the Stardust Pearl"; they also opened up "all symbiotic networks" for it, allowing it to "find companions at any time." On the blank pages of the log, the new runes drew "a map of home," a map without "clear boundaries," only "countless intersecting roads," with each intersection marked "'Welcome back'."
At dusk that day, all existences formed a circle around the Symbiosis Stone. Stardust Pearl emitted from the Light Vortex hung in the center of the circle, its Stardust Sea merging with the River of Light of the meadow to form a gigantic Twin Realms Ring. Within the ring, the spiral of the Light Vortex, the scars of its edges, the discontinuity of its fragments, the framework of its Star Orbit, the warm spheres of flame... all the gaps in existence faced the center of the ring, where the petals of the Symbiosis Flower were blooming, each petal bearing a different wound, yet together forming a complete gentleness.
"This is 'our home.'" On the antlers of the giant deer, the light butterflies formed the word "home," and within the strokes of the word "hidden the imprint of all existence." For the first time, the Light Vortex "fully unfurled its spiral body," presenting its gaping wound "towards the new light patterns on the Symbiosis Stone." In the instant of energy flow, it heard "the whispers of all wounds"—not the groans of pain, but "the sighs of being understood."
The Boundless Wind pierced through the Twin Realms Ring, carrying the essence of the Stardust Sea and the Root Network Sea of Stars, blowing towards "all beings waiting for home." Hidden within the wind were the secrets of reunion, the wisdom of wounds, and the Root Language etched at the center of the Twin Realms Ring by all beings:
"Home is not a place without wounds, but a place where all wounds can 'bloom safely.' We carry our own pain, forming the warmest circle, so that every gap can find the 'curve of an embrace,' and every return can be met with 'understanding gentleness.'"
Within the spiral of the Light Vortex, the Courage Bud is "slowly growing"; on the new light patterns of the Symbiosis Stone, the image of the Stardust Sea and the memories of the Sea of Stars are "constantly merging"; the Symbiosis Mark of the Voyager Squad are still "shining with the light of their journey" on the River of Light —the home of the Root Network Sea of Stars has become "more complete and warmer" because of the "arrival of new members".
Like the first page of Luoyu's newly opened sketchbook: the center of the drawing is "a big embrace," with "different gaps" on both sides, yet "a common flower grows" from those gaps. Next to the drawing is written, "The story of home is even more beautiful because it has a new name."
The wind continues to blow, the circle continues to encircle, the family continues to grow, and the reunion of the Root Network Sea of Stars, in the embrace of wounds, moves towards a more fulfilling future.
