"Shriek!" An eagle's cry rang out hundreds of meters overhead, piercing the sky and halting the clouds.
No one had noticed when a flock of Azure Baleful Eagles, birds found only on the continent, had appeared in the sky.
An Azure Baleful Eagle suddenly swooped down and landed on the corpse of a Demon Soul Great White Shark more than ten meters long.

The eagle did as he said, landing beside the waterway formed by the gap.

Jun Yan jumped off the eagle's back and followed the waterway toward the center of the island.
The island was covered in primeval trees and was probably rarely visited, so most of the trees were exceptionally tall.
Though they were at sea, this could very well be considered Jun Yan's home ground.
Jun Yan muttered to himself, "Perhaps I can test the strength of a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast."
"First, to keep it from escaping, I need to cut off its retreat."
He brought his hands together and channeled his Soul Power. Trees crashed down one after another, falling across the waterway.
The branches beneath the fallen trees then began to grow wildly, and the branches and leaves that touched the bottom turned into roots, sinking deep into it.
"Wood Dragon Technique."
Countless branches converged to form a Wood Dragon.
The Wood Dragon then detached itself from the trunks, crawled up to Jun Yan, and lay prone before him.
Jun Yan stepped onto the Wood Dragon's head and drove it onward along the waterway.
The trees along the way parted of their own accord, making a path for him. At that moment, Jun Yan looked like the master of the forest.
They had not gone far when the Azure Baleful Eagle suddenly cried out twice overhead.

The trees in front of him parted once more, and a thick stench of blood hit him. A huge pool appeared before Jun Yan.
His target, the Demon Soul Great White Shark, lay quietly in the pool.
With the sound of branches and leaves crunching underfoot, Jun Yan appeared at the edge of the pool atop the Wood Dragon. The shark opened its eyes.
"Human!" The girl's voice was thick with anger.
Jun Yan's expression was calm. "I've come to kill you. I have great need of your Soul Ring and Soul Bone." Seven Soul Rings suddenly appeared and flashed behind him.
The Demon Soul Great White Shark sounded somewhat surprised. "A Soul Saint! You really don't know your own limits!"
It slapped its tail against the water, raising a huge wave even in the relatively shallow pool. The wave took the form of a shark and pounced on Jun Yan at the water's edge.
The Soul Rings behind Jun Yan flashed. "Soul Skill, Wood Barrier." A wooden wall instantly appeared in front of him.
Boom! The shark smashed the wall to pieces in an instant. It was only a hundred-year Soul Skill, after all. Even with Jun Yan's Soul Power supporting it, it could not stop an attack from a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast.
The Wood Dragon lashed its tail forward, smashing the shark formed from the wave to pieces.
"Forget it. I won't waste time on you, in case my clone on Sea God Island is discovered."
Jun Yan leaped down from the Wood Dragon's head and pressed his palms together, preparing to unleash his Soul Skill at full strength.
The Wood Dragon jumped into the pool and swam toward the Demon Soul Great White Shark, which opened its jaws full of sharp teeth and lunged to bite it.
