The Great Battle Begins

In Sea Maiden City, all the powerhouses beneath the Great Enshrined had gathered. With Bo Saixi absent, Sea Maiden Douluo was in charge.

Although she was the second-strongest person on Sea God Island, Sea Maiden Douluo still looked like a young girl. She wore a small black top that did not even cover her navel. Her eyes were as sky-blue as the ocean.

Sea Maiden Douluo usually greeted others with a smile and was full of warmth, but as she looked at the densely packed Sea God warriors below the city gate, she felt no ease at all.

True, Spirit Hall had only two thousand Soul Masters, but every one of them was at least a Soul Ancestor. Sea God Island had greater numbers, but their quality was considerably lower.

Sea Maiden Douluo's expression was grave as she slowly spoke. Her voice was not loud, but with the aid of her Soul Power, it reached every Sea Soul Master's ears clearly.

"Spirit Hall has sent its forces from the continent to attack Sea God Island, seeking to strip us of our freedom and alter our faith.

"Sea God Island has reached a moment of true crisis. Because of Spirit Hall's Angel Douluo, the Great Enshrined cannot come to our aid, so we can only rely on ourselves to resist Spirit Hall this time.

"The enemy is too strong. If we fight separately, we can easily be picked off one by one. Therefore, we had no choice but to abandon Sea Ghost, Sea Horse, Sea Spear, and Sea Star cities, to abandon our homes, to abandon the places where we grew up, and let the enemy destroy them at will."

After hearing Sea Maiden Douluo's words, the Sea God warriors present were immediately filled with hatred for the enemy. They could hardly wait to charge straight at Spirit Hall.

"Yes!" the Sea God warriors shouted in unison.

Sea Maiden Douluo pointed behind the warriors, in the direction of Sea God Hall.

"Sea God Hall is right there. The Great Enshrined is standing at its highest point, watching us now, and His Majesty the Sea God will also cast his gaze down from the Divine Realm to watch his fearless warriors.

"Now take up your weapons and reveal your Martial Souls. Let those landlubbers from the continent know that this is Sea God Island, and it will always belong to the Sea God's people."

Sea Maiden Douluo spread her arms and cried out to the heavens, "The Sea God above!"

The powerhouses on the city wall and the three thousand Sea Soul Masters below it all crossed their hands over their chests and bowed their heads in prayer. "The Sea God above!"

Spirit Hall's two thousand people approached Sea Maiden City in orderly ranks.

Suddenly, Sea Maiden City's gates swung wide open. Ranks of Sea Soul Masters poured out of the city and formed up before the gates.

A thousand filled a city; ten thousand filled the wilderness. More than five thousand Soul Masters had drawn up opposite one another outside Sea Maiden City, making for a magnificent sight.

The forces the two sides had committed here could have destroyed a kingdom on the continent.

Immediately afterward, more than a dozen figures flew out of Sea Maiden City. These were all of Sea God Island's powerhouses at the Soul Douluo level and above.

Stillness!

Silence!

Neither side spoke. Outside Sea Maiden City, the only sound was the wind stirring everyone's clothes.

In the end, Spirit Hall's side broke the silence. After all, they were the ones who had started the war.

Qian Jun Douluo summoned his Martial Soul, the Coiling Dragon Staff, and pointed the long staff forward. "Release your Martial Souls."

Brilliant light erupted from Spirit Hall's side in an instant. Two thousand Soul Masters released their Martial Souls at once, creating a truly magnificent spectacle. Countless Soul Rings shimmered in white, yellow, purple, and black. As the multicolored lights appeared, a terrifying presence pressed down on Sea God Island's side.

"Release your Martial Souls!" Sea Maiden Douluo likewise ordered.

Lights of the same four colors flashed on Sea God Island's side. Their rising presence forced Spirit Hall's presence back, and for a moment, the two sides were evenly matched.

Although both sides had released their Martial Souls at the same time, there were still some differences between them.

On Spirit Hall's side, the people stood in neat ranks, but the arrangement of their Soul Rings was uneven. In some places, the presences of several people's Martial Souls even clashed with one another.

On Sea God Island's side, although there were more people, there was no disorder at all. The more than three thousand Sea Soul Masters were loosely divided into seven formations, and the colors of their Soul Rings were not jumbled in the slightest.

The Soul Masters in the front row had six or seven rings. Though few in number, their Soul Rings made up for their lack of numbers. Behind them stood the Soul Masters with five, four, three, and two rings. Among these three thousand Sea Soul Masters, the vast majority had between three and five rings.

Though these Sea Soul Masters were of different levels and had different Martial Souls, their presences blended harmoniously, erupting with even greater might.

"Release your Soul Skills!"

At Sea Maiden Douluo's command, lights of various colors flared throughout the formation of three thousand Sea Soul Masters, and a multitude of Soul Skills flew toward Spirit Hall's Soul Masters.

Qian Jun Douluo likewise shouted, "Release your Soul Skills."

Spirit Hall's Soul Masters immediately unleashed Soul Skills of their own in a variety of colors, but something unexpected, yet understandable, happened.

The Soul Skills of Spirit Hall's Soul Masters lost much of their power while still in midair, and after colliding with the Soul Skills of Sea God Island's Soul Masters, they were quickly defeated.

Quite a few of the remaining Soul Skills fell straight toward Spirit Hall's Soul Masters. Soul Skills of every color flew wildly as they blocked the attacks.

But a section of Spirit Hall's formation fell into disorder all the same.

"How could this happen?" Qian Jun Douluo asked, somewhat surprised as he watched the scene before him.

The other five Titled Douluo also looked at one another. They had devoted themselves to cultivation, so how could they know the principles of marching and arranging formations?

Yue Guan, however, had observed more closely than the other four and ventured a guess. "It looks to me as though Sea God Island's side is loosely divided into seven sections. Could it have something to do with that?"

"..."

Who knew?

Qian Jun Douluo thought for a moment, then decided, "Our Soul Masters are stronger on average. Let's stop wearing ourselves down against them head-on and charge straight into their formation. Come with me."

Since they could not win a group battle, they would tear the enemy's formation apart and turn it into a chaotic fight. Qian Jun Douluo was an old hand, seasoned to a fine edge. Though he did not understand the principles, that did not stop him from finding a way out.

There did not seem to be a better option at the moment. Besides, Spirit Hall did indeed have the advantage in top-level combat power, so the others all agreed.

"All troops, heed my command! Charge with me!"

At his own command, Qian Jun Douluo was the first to reveal his Tool Soul Avatar, charging forward as he swung his great staff.

Demon Subduing Douluo followed close behind, then came Ye Feng and Lang Ming, with Yue Guan and Gui Mei at the rear.

Ye Feng's Martial Soul was a sword, while Lang Ming's was the Gale Demon Wolf, a top-tier wolf Martial Soul.

Then, with the Soul Douluo taking the lead, the two thousand Soul Masters charged at the Sea God warriors at full speed.
