On the central arena in the dark space.

There was only the sound of hammer blows striking flesh and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's incessant roars.

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion hid beside the Blue Silver Emperor, covering her eyes with one of its vines. Her ears trembled with every hammer blow.

"This little human is terrifying."

"What are you doing?"

The trembling Three-Eyed Golden Lion had not noticed Han Yu coming up beside her. When she suddenly heard his question, the little beast stood bolt upright.

Han Yu watched with some curiosity. He poked the Three-Eyed Golden Lion's round body with the Clear Sky Hammer, which was still stained with the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's blood, and could not help asking.

"What's wrong?"

The panicked Three-Eyed Golden Lion hurriedly waved her short arms and shook her head like a pellet drum.

"N-nothing."

The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger was still bound by the Blue Silver Emperor's vines. Its face had long since been smashed beyond recognition by the Clear Sky Hammer, its limp limbs hung freely in the air, and blood dripped steadily from its mouth. It would die in moments.

The only sound left in the space was the cracking of bones as the Blue Silver Emperor continued to tighten the vines around the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger.

When the Blue Silver Emperor first became his Martial Soul, Han Yu had discovered that he could summon it as an independent Martial Soul and let it act on its own. Moreover, only after it had exhausted its own Soul Power would it draw Soul Power from his body to support the use of its skills.

Han Yu's Blue Silver Emperor could be said to have become a special kind of external Martial Soul, just like Yu Xiaogang's Luo Sanpao.

The human and the beast talked to each other in that space, so they were not lonely, but things were not nearly so peaceful outside.

The instant the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's bead sucked Han Yu and the Three-Eyed Golden Lion into the space, a stern, resolute man in black robes opened his eyes somewhere in the Core Circle of the Star Dou Great Forest. A flicker of shock passed through his sharp gaze.

Beside him stood a breathtakingly beautiful woman, with long emerald-green hair cascading down her back and eyes of the same color. She had a slender figure. A long, aqua-green dress perfectly outlined her lithe body, while her arms, white as tender lotus roots, were bare.

The beautiful woman noticed the unusual look on the black-robed man's face. An unusual expression crossed her own exquisite features as she asked softly.

"Di Tian, what happened? Why do I feel so oppressed?"

The black-robed man was none other than Di Tian, the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King, foremost of the ten great Ferocious Beasts hidden in the Star Dou Great Forest.

Di Tian's brows were tightly furrowed. After pondering for a moment, he spoke again.

"Just now, I could no longer sense the Auspicious Beast's presence. I tried to bring her back by descending, but it had no effect."

"What!"

Bi Ji's expression changed in alarm, and her beautiful face showed a trace of panic. The Three-Eyed Golden Lion, the Auspicious Beast, was extremely important to the entire Star Dou Great Forest.

When the other Ferocious Beasts present heard that something had happened to the Auspicious Beast, they could no longer sit still. They hurried over to Di Tian to ask what had happened to her.

"Di Tian, can you send me over using the descent method?"

A colossal figure with the head of an ox and the body of a python stood in the Lake of Life in the Star Dou Great Forest. Speaking in a human voice, he addressed a giant ape sitting by the lake with resignation.

The Titan Giant Ape held the hind leg of some unknown Soul Beast in his hand and chewed on it. Hearing the Sky Azure Bull Python's words, he gave two low growls of displeasure.

"Yes, I know you wanted to catch him, but you should have listened to my directions. Look what happened-now we don't know where he's run off to again."

Somewhat exasperated with his brother, the Sky Azure Bull Python patiently explained. The two of them had just discovered traces of the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, and he and the Titan Giant Ape had set out to drive it away or even kill it.

But the Titan Giant Ape could not contain his restlessness. The moment he saw the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, he forgot everything the Sky Azure Bull Python had told him and charged forward with a roar.

The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger had clashed with them many times before. Seeing both beasts attack, how could it dare stand and fight? With an agile movement, it vanished from the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape's sight in the blink of an eye.

Worried that the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger was too close to the Lake of Life, the two beasts followed its scent through the air in relentless pursuit. Only after driving it out of the Core Circle did they stop.

Just as the Sky Azure Bull Python was about to scold his brother again, he suddenly noticed a black-robed man standing beside the Titan Giant Ape. Although the man gave off no presence whatsoever, the Sky Azure Bull Python trembled all over the instant he saw him, and fear enveloped his entire body in an instant.

The black-robed Di Tian merely glanced at the Sky Azure Bull Python before vanishing from where he stood. Even the Titan Giant Ape beside him had not noticed his appearance and continued to feast.

Tang Hao's face was anxious. He still had to guard against an attack from the three-headed Soul Beast nearby, and the thought of retreating had long since taken root in his mind. But whether Han Yu was alive or dead was unknown, and he could not restore the Clear Sky Sect's name on his own. With no other choice, he gritted his teeth and stayed.

Just as he was about to ask the Scarlet King about the origins of this Soul Beast, he suddenly noticed that a black-robed man had appeared beside the three-headed Soul Beast. The beast treated the man with great respect. The man gave off no presence, but Tang Hao smelled danger from him.

The fear in his heart gradually spread through his body. Beads of sweat the size of beans dripped from his forehead, and even his heart briefly stopped beating. He stood rooted to the spot, not daring to make the slightest movement, and could only stare blankly as the three-headed Soul Beast whispered with the man.

At last, after an unknown length of time, the man and the beast stopped talking, and the Scarlet King turned his three heads toward Tang Hao. Tang Hao could no longer suppress his fear. It broke through the last shred of reason in his heart in an instant, and he turned and fled. Branches and vines scraped the skin exposed outside his clothes, but he paid them no mind, concerned only with fleeing the Star Dou Great Forest. Even when he tripped over branches underfoot, he scrambled back up and kept running.
