Deep Sea Cold Iron
Watching the two blacksmiths continue to bid, Su Tianyu raised his auction paddle and called out, "I bid eight thousand Gold Soul Coins!"
The two blacksmiths sitting in the first few rows heard someone bidding against them and turned around. When they saw that it was a young lad, both their faces immediately darkened, and they spoke without any courtesy.
"Kid, can't you see the two of us are bidding against each other? Are you deliberately here to cause trouble? You're not even a blacksmith. What would you buy this piece of Deep Sea Cold Iron for?"
One of them, an ordinary-looking middle-aged man, shouted at him with an annoyed expression.
"Sir, the highest bidder wins at an auction. Surely you know the rules? Should I call a staff member over to explain them to you?"
Su Tianyu sensed fluctuations of Soul Power coming from the middle-aged man. After carefully checking and finding that his Soul Power did not exceed level thirty, he naturally showed him no courtesy.
Hearing the jab in the lad's words, the middle-aged man's face darkened on the spot. He looked as miserable as if he had swallowed a fly, his expression shifting from red to black and back again. He flew into a rage.
"Fine-fine-fine! You've got some nerve, kid. But the Blacksmith Association isn't so easy to offend, either. Watch yourself, kid, or you won't be able to get by in Treasure Sword City. You should know that our Blacksmith Association monopolizes ironware orders across the entire continent. We can stop you from earning a living as a blacksmith."
"You don't need to trouble yourself over that, sir. I have my own way of surviving in Treasure Sword City."
After Su Tianyu bid the high price of eight thousand Gold Soul Coins, the two clearly had no intention of being taken for fools, and he successfully secured the Deep Sea Cold Iron.
The items that appeared at the auction afterward were all common, everyday metals. When a piece of Ten-Thousand-Year Whale Glue appeared, Su Tianyu raised his paddle and bid for it.
Time passed bit by bit. Soon, a staff member came out from behind the auction stage and carefully placed the treasure box he was carrying on the display stand, then quickly retreated backstage.
Su Mei raised the Amplifying Soul Tool in her hand and called out in a sweet voice.
"Honored guests, this item is the Treasure Sword Auction Venue's grand finale. Now, let us behold the true face of this auction item."
With that, Su Mei stretched out her delicate jade hand and lifted the red cloth covering the treasure box. She carefully opened the lid, and a dazzling, multicolored light illuminated the entire auction hall.
"Is that a Soul Bone?"
The commoner Soul Masters seated in the auction hall craned their necks one after another, their gazes fixed on the Soul Bone radiating multicolored light on the stage.
"A Soul Bone?"
The lord of Treasure Sword City looked at the Soul Bone from his exquisitely decorated private room on the upper floor, a hint of surprise appearing on his face. His network of informants spread throughout Treasure Sword City, and a message from his subordinates had informed him that an unexpected treasure would appear at the Treasure Sword Auction Venue tonight. He had therefore come to the auction in person, but he had not expected a Thousand-Year Soul Bone to appear.
In another private room, an elderly man looked at the Thousand-Year Soul Bone on the auction stage, his expression showing mild surprise. Then he gazed at the Soul Bone on the stage with burning eyes.
As a black-clothed bishop of the Spirit Hall Main Hall, he did not have a single Soul Bone himself. He had lived to a ripe old age, but obtaining a Soul Bone from the Spirit Hall was far, far too difficult. The merits required for a Soul Bone were not something he could easily earn, even though he was a Soul Saint with level seventy-three Soul Power.
"Honored guests, this is a three-thousand-year Ghost Leopard Left Leg Bone. I believe many Soul Masters on the continent do not possess a single Soul Bone, and I trust that all the Soul Masters present know the value of this one.
"So I won't waste everyone's time. The starting price for this three-thousand-year Ghost Leopard Left Leg Bone is four hundred thousand Gold Soul Coins, and each bid must increase by no less than ten thousand Gold Soul Coins."
After introducing the Soul Bone, Su Mei looked expectantly toward the private rooms on the auction venue's top floor. Through inside information at the Treasure Sword Auction Venue, she had long known about the distinguished guests attending tonight's auction: one was a black-clothed bishop from the Spirit Hall Main Hall in Treasure Sword City, and the other was the lord of Treasure Sword City.
As for this Ghost Leopard Left Leg Bone, it remained to be seen whether the Spirit Hall's black-clothed bishop would bid higher or the lord of Treasure Sword City had greater means to secure it.
"Mo Hu, you old fellow, are you planning to bid against me for this Soul Bone too? Your Spirit Hall has vast wealth and influence, so why damage our good relations over a mere thousand-year Soul Bone? Why not let me have it and strengthen the friendship between the Heaven Dou Empire and the Spirit Hall?"
He Dahai transmitted his voice with Soul Power to Mo Hu, the black-clothed bishop in the neighboring private room.
"He Dahai, do you want to listen to the nonsense coming out of your mouth? You don't even believe what you're saying yourself, and you're talking about friendship between the Spirit Hall and the Heaven Dou Empire? He Dahai, are you in your right mind?"
When Mo Hu heard He Dahai's Soul Power voice transmission, he had initially been rather expectant. But he had not expected He Dahai to open by calling him an old fellow, and his good mood immediately vanished like smoke into thin air. His face darkened, and he shot back through a Soul Power voice transmission.
"My, my, you're already so old, old fellow. What do you still need a Soul Bone for? Are you going to use it to break through your Soul Power Level?
"Why don't you take a look at yourself? You're already well into your seventies. Leave the resources for the young people to enjoy."
After hearing the old fellow Mo Hu's Soul Power voice transmission, He Dahai magnanimously refrained from getting angry. With a calm state of mind, he used a Soul Power voice transmission to tease the old thing.
He Dahai's Soul Power voice transmission sounded in Mo Hu's ears. After listening to it, Mo Hu's expression turned ugly, his chest heaved slightly, and his eyes gradually reddened.
He immediately reached out and slapped the tea table in the private room. Crack! The solid table shattered into pieces under his hand. Mo Hu hated nothing more than being called an old thing.
"He Dahai, are you looking for death? Are you trying to start a war between the Spirit Hall and the Heaven Dou Empire? Or do you think I'm old and feeble and easy to bully? Want to go outside and have a match? Let's see how this old fellow defeats you. If you lose to me, I'll take this Soul Bone without paying a single coin."
Mo Hu roared through a voice transmission toward He Dahai's neighboring private room. No matter how angry he was, he would not resort to violence on the spot. If the Soul Masters in the hall saw it and unfavorable words about him spread afterward, the reputation the Spirit Hall had cultivated for years would gradually fade away.
"All right, I really can't do anything with you, old fellow. We'll compete fairly and see who has more Gold Soul Coins."
He Dahai grinned happily, paying no mind to the old fellow's threat.
