Background / History

Childhood and Academy Education

Su Tianyu was born in Holy Soul Village during the era of Spirit Hall, retaining memories of a previous life. When he was six, his father discovered Tang San practicing the Mysterious Heaven Skill while hunting on the back mountain. Tang San killed him with a Sleeve Arrow to conceal the technique. Su Tianyu buried his father and entered Nuoding Academy using the village’s work-study student quota 1.

At Nuoding Academy, he secretly acquired Tang San’s complete Mysterious Heaven Skill and stole Soul Beast reference material from Yu Xiaogang. His acquired knowledge also included the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer taught to Tang San by Tang Hao 1 26.

After obtaining his first Soul Ring at seven, he enrolled at Heaven Lake Intermediate Academy. As a commoner, he faced discrimination from noble students and indifference from teachers. Zhang Tieniu helped him understand the academy’s rules and became his close friend 8 22.

Second Soul Ring and the Wang Family Feud

Su Tianyu normally kept a low profile, but entered the academy tournament when its spiritual-milk prize offered a direct increase in Soul Power. He defeated Wang Lei and reached level twenty. When the academy refused to help him obtain another Soul Ring, he entered the Heavenly Eye Forest alone 4.

There, a two-thousand-year Cyclops overwhelmed his illusions and ordinary Hidden Weapons. He eventually wounded its eye with a crossbow, dragged its soul into his soul realm, and destroyed it. After absorbing its ring beneath the beast’s corpse, he used his first Soul Skill to kill an approaching pack of Hell Wolves 1 2.

Wang Shan subsequently hunted him on Wang Tianba’s orders. Su Tianyu killed Wang Shan and searched his memories, learning that the Wang Family resented him for taking the tournament prize intended for Wang Lei. He took Wang Shan’s storage bracelet and disposed of the body in a wolf den 4 5.

After graduating at nine and a half, Su Tianyu watched the Wang estate for ten days before infiltrating it. He killed Wang Jun, Wang Hu, their wives, Wang Lei, the servants, and others he encountered, preventing anyone from raising the alarm. He then defeated Wang Tianba and entered the family treasury 9 10 11 12 13.

The last survivors were Wang Tianba’s two young granddaughters. Su Tianyu presented them with a candy-and-knife “choice,” treating every possible response as grounds for execution. He killed both children, looted the treasury, and left the estate burning. Before departing Heaven Lake City, he changed clothes and washed away traces of blood 14.

Ancient Soul Tools and Suotuo City

During his return from the second-ring hunt, Su Tianyu attacked a commoner traveler who possessed an unusual defensive ring. He killed both the traveler and his coachman, seized the ring, and searched the traveler’s soul for its origin 5 6.

After destroying the Wang Family, he followed those memories to an ancient cave. The remaining armor-like Soul Tools had badly eroded internal engravings and were unusable. He collected the remnants before continuing to Suotuo City 15.

In Flender’s shop, Su Tianyu used the prospect of applying to Shrek Academy to obtain a crystal and valuable Soul Tools. He later rejected the idea of enrolling. At the Great Soul Arena, he studied fighting styles, watched Huo Wu defeat Li Dabao, and collected his betting winnings before leaving the city 16 17 19.

Black Wolf Soul Hunting Team

Seeking practical experience, Su Tianyu joined Gu San’s Black Wolf Soul Hunting Team. He remained suspicious of Huang Shan and avoided being touched when Huang Shan secretly applied a substance intended to provoke Fire Flame Lions. Although he noticed the scheme, he did not warn Gu San or Zhang Erjiang 21 22 23.

Su Tianyu watched the resulting conflict from concealment. When a Soul Bone appeared from the Fire Flame Lion King, he attacked Huang Shan, finishing him with an iron nail after Mental Shock failed to kill him. He claimed the Soul Bone, searched the bodies, and abandoned plans to join another hunting team 25 26.

Forging and the Third Soul Ring

Su Tianyu moved to Treasure Sword City to cultivate and manufacture stronger Hidden Weapons. He rented a forge from Jerry for four hundred Gold Soul Coins per month and bought Deep Sea Cold Iron at auction for eight thousand Gold Soul Coins 26 28 30.

He produced more than three hundred specialized arrowheads and assembled a Godly Zhuge Crossbow. After a year and a half of cultivation, he reached level thirty. Jerry offered to introduce him to Divine Blacksmith Lou Gao, but Su Tianyu declined and departed to hunt his third Soul Ring 33 34.

After a month searching the Star Dou Great Forest for a suitable spatial Soul Beast, he encountered the undocumented Dimensional Void Beast. Its spatial attacks repeatedly forced him onto the defensive, but his crossbow wounded it with forty-six arrowheads. He ultimately exploited its comparatively weak mental power and exhausted it, then absorbed its five-thousand-year ring 36 37 38 39.

Skywater Academy and the Hundred Treasure Purse

While leaving the forest, Su Tianyu witnessed the aftermath of a Skywater Academy teacher’s fatal encounter with a twenty-thousand-year Violent Gold Bear. He later rescued Shui Bing’er, Shui Yue’er, and three companions from a Pink Fox, told them their teacher had died, and urged them to become strong enough to protect those close to them 39 40 42.

He escorted the five students out of the forest over five days. His relationship with Shui Bing’er became romantic during their subsequent camp in a flower-filled valley: she confided in him, he carried her into the night sky, and she kissed his cheek. They parted in Star Dou Town the following morning 43 44.

Su Tianyu then attended the Starlight Auction House in Haagen-Dazs City. Planning to obtain the Immortal Herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, he purchased a Hundred Treasure Purse for 120,000 Gold Soul Coins to preserve their medicinal potency 39 45 48.

Li Dabao and Hu Bing followed him outside the city intending to rob him. Su Tianyu drew them toward a small Soul Beast Forest and attempted to conceal himself, but Hu Bing’s spreading blood-red mist forced him to emerge. Their confrontation remained unresolved in the provided account 48 50.

Su Tianyu is disciplined and strongly focused on cultivation. He criticizes students who neglect training for romance, maintains a regular cultivation routine, and treats forging as a means of improving his survival rather than a substitute for raising his Soul Power 9 26 33.

He is secretive, calculating, and willing to deceive others. He lies to Zhang Tieniu about the danger of his second-ring hunt to spare his friend worry, conceals his itinerary, and pretends to consider Shrek Academy to gain Flender’s cooperation. He also rents a forge rather than buying a smithy because conspicuous wealth could attract danger 8 17 28.

His concern for friends coexists with extreme cruelty and greed. He murders a traveler and coachman to seize a Soul Tool, kills the Wang estate’s servants to prevent an alarm, and executes two children under the pretext that their choices reveal future hostility. He later rationalizes the Black Wolf team’s destruction as a public service because its members might otherwise have become Fallen Soul Masters 6 12 14 26.

Although he resents discrimination against commoner Soul Masters, he does not consider himself responsible for defending them. He also demands deference from ordinary people, attacking the traveler partly for failing to bow to him.
