Breaking Through to Level Thirty
Under Su Tianyu's careful cutting, the Deep Sea Cold Iron was divided into small pieces of various sizes. He then poured a special medicinal solution over them and put them back into the furnace to heat and soften them.
When enough time had passed, Su Tianyu used tongs to take the pieces of cold iron out of the furnace and gently tapped them with a small hammer. Before long, he had forged the three-jin piece of Deep Sea Cold Iron into more than three hundred small arrowheads, each about three inches long.
"Little brother, have you finished forging the attack weapon you wanted?"
Jerry walked over to Su Tianyu's forge, and together they bent their heads to examine the more than three hundred arrowheads neatly arranged on the table. He picked one up and inspected it carefully. Its tip glinted with a cold, sharp light and gave off a dangerous presence.
Jerry had barely touched the tip with his index finger when blood began dripping from the wound. Startled, he quickly put down the arrowhead and hurried to the medicine cabinet. He found a salve for treating wounds and swiftly applied it to his finger.
"Huh? What's going on? Why is it still spurting blood after I put the salve on?"
Jerry came over to Su Tianyu, a puzzled look on his face. Staring at the wound on his index finger, he was full of questions. How could even a salve for external injuries fail to stop the bleeding from this arrowhead?
"Boss, these are arrows I painstakingly forged. They contain a medicinal solution I specially formulated, so ordinary salves for external injuries definitely can't stop the bleeding. Pour the medicinal solution I prepared on the wound."
Su Tianyu took a bottle of medicinal solution out of his Soul Tool and handed it to Jerry, who stood beside him.
Jerry accepted the bottle, half believing and half doubting. He opened it and gently poured the liquid onto the wound on his index finger.
Before long, the bleeding stopped, and the wound slowly healed and scabbed over. Watching this miraculous sight, Jerry praised it again and again.
"Little brother, your medicinal solution is truly amazing. I couldn't stop the bleeding even with other salves for external injuries. I never thought only the solution you prepared could heal it. Your methods are truly miraculous! And the weapon you forged has a strange power I can't quite describe. An ordinary master blacksmith could never make something like it. I'd even say a grandmaster blacksmith might not be able to do it."
Hearing this, Su Tianyu merely smiled mysteriously and didn't respond to Jerry's words. He silently put away the arrowheads on the table.
Over the following days, Su Tianyu ran back and forth between the smithy and the hotel. In less than ten days, he had forged all the parts needed for the Godly Zhuge Crossbow, more than fifty pieces of various sizes in total.
Su Tianyu looked at the parts of different sizes on the table. They had all been forged according to the Tang Sect Hidden Weapons blueprints. He then quickly assembled them in his hotel room.
A short while later, Su Tianyu had assembled a Godly Zhuge Crossbow with forty-six circular firing holes. Its front firing section was a round disc, connected to the crossbow's mechanical firing device. An arrow gate was attached to the device, and more than a hundred arrowheads could be loaded at once.
Su Tianyu put the Godly Zhuge Crossbow into his Storage Soul Tool. From then on, he would devote himself to cultivating his Soul Power, raise his realm as quickly as possible, and break through to level thirty Soul Power soon.
Time slipped by in the blink of an eye, and before he knew it, a year and a half had passed.
Late one night at the hotel, Su Tianyu sat cross-legged on the soft bed, his eyes closed as he refined his Soul Power. The presence of the Soul Power radiating from him alternated between strong and weak.
Before long, he seemed to have reached a critical moment. Su Tianyu's face tightened, and he suddenly opened his eyes and let out a low shout. "Break!"
As soon as his words fell, the Soul Power inside him surged upward with a "pop." He had reached level thirty Soul Power.
After taking the twenty-thousand-year-old Whale Rubber he had bought at the auction, Su Tianyu had finally broken through to level thirty Soul Power. Next, he would head to the Star Dou Great Forest to obtain a Soul Ring and successfully advance to the Soul Elder level. Absorbing a third Soul Ring of five thousand years should be no problem.
Su Tianyu got out of bed and walked to the window, looking out over Treasure Sword City in the dead of night. He glanced at the city where he had spent a year and a half. His emotions barely stirred, and there was no one he was reluctant to leave or wanted to remember.
Take Jerry from the smithy: he was merely a passerby in Su Tianyu's long career as a Soul Master. They had only done business together and could barely be considered strangers who exchanged a nod.
Early the next morning, Su Tianyu packed his belongings and checked out of the room he had rented for a year and a half. He took the deposit the receptionist returned to him and walked out of the hotel without looking back.
Out on the street, Su Tianyu looked at the smithies lining both sides. He had spent most of the past year and a half in the smithy district. Besides making some Hidden Weapons, he had also helped Jerry forge weapons for a few orders.
Of course, the pay had not been much. After all, Su Tianyu didn't have much time to waste at the smithy. As long as it didn't interfere with his daily Soul Power cultivation, he was happy to work the forge in his spare time. Forging some Hidden Weapons required mastery of blacksmithing.
Before he knew it, he had reached the smithy he had rented. Just then, Jerry came out of the shop and saw Su Tianyu walking west along the street. He suddenly called out to stop him.
"Little brother, little brother, wait-"
Jerry hurriedly called Su Tianyu to a halt and spoke rapidly. He greatly admired this young man who had spent a year and a half at the smithy and had been planning to introduce him to Divine Blacksmith Lou Gao in Gengxin City. He hadn't expected Su Tianyu to leave Treasure Sword City today.
Hearing someone call him, Su Tianyu immediately stopped and turned toward the voice. Only then did he see it was Jerry, whom he knew fairly well. He smiled and walked over to the shop.
Coming up to Jerry, Su Tianyu greeted him with a smile. "Boss, long time no see. I was planning to leave Treasure Sword City today. If you hadn't called out to me just now, I was about to find a carriage and leave."
"You're leaving Treasure Sword City, little brother? Are you planning to enroll in a Soul Master Academy next, or continue traveling the Douluo Continent? I was just planning to introduce you to Senior Lou Gao in Gengxin City. I didn't expect you to leave today. That's a bit of a pity."
Jerry spoke dejectedly, his face full of regret.
"Boss, are you talking about Senior Lou Gao, who is known as a divine blacksmith on the continent? As far as I know, only three people on the entire Douluo Continent are worthy of the title of divine blacksmith. One of them is Divine Blacksmith Lou Gao. Of the other two, one is Tang Hao, who holds the title of Clear Sky Douluo, and the last is the patriarch of the Strength Clan, Soul Douluo Tai Tan."
"Yes, little brother, you're right. I didn't expect you to know so much about what's happening on the continent. It seems I don't need to say much more. Would you like to set off for Gengxin City with me today and meet Senior Lou Gao, the divine blacksmith?"
Having said that, Jerry looked at Su Tianyu expectantly.
