A Vision
Suanni stood in the air, as large as a small mountain, and opened his mouth in a roar.
As Suanni roared, a vast torrent of lightning burst forth.
Like countless Order Divine Chains, it nearly veiled the entire world.
Sizzle!
The lightning transformed into golden chains that coiled around the phantom. Amid a series of sizzling sounds, the phantom gradually dissolved beneath the lightning.
Bang!
Even as he unleashed the lightning, the enormous Suanni leaped onto the Kun fish's head and raised both fists, smashing them down.
The Kun fish was so immense that Suanni, who was the size of a small mountain, stood atop its head and was still smaller than its eye.
But Suanni's fists shone with terrifying lightning.
As Suanni's fists came down, the Kun fish's head split open in an instant.
Lightning coursed along the wound and completely enveloped the Kun fish's body.
Boom!
An immense boom rang out, and the enormous Kun fish exploded.
Suanni had broken through two precious techniques in succession without suffering the slightest injury himself.
With a thought from Lei Chong, the enormous Suanni slowly dissipated.
Pfft!
With two of his precious techniques broken in succession, Han Ming suffered another backlash. Already gravely wounded, his injuries grew even worse.
Even the blood he spat out had become exceedingly thin.
Whoosh!
Lei Chong's body transformed into a bolt of lightning that passed straight through Han Ming.
Han Ming's body split in two. He was deader than dead.
Lei Chong reached out, seized both halves of the corpse, and put them in his storage bag.
A Venerable Realm Flame Fish was a true precious medicine of flesh and blood. Though it could not compare to a mutated Yang Fish, it certainly contained no small amount of divine substance.
After dealing with Han Ming's corpse, Lei Chong's true body flew down from the clouds.
The battle had been simple. It could be said to have passed without danger or mishap.
Although he had lost an ordinary spirit body and a gigantic energy ship, those losses were of little consequence to Lei Chong.
Han Ming's flesh and blood alone were enough to make up for them.
Lei Chong put away all his spoils and left the battlefield as a bolt of lightning.
Somewhere deep in the North Sea lay a cluster of undersea volcanoes. Lava billowed up from beneath the earth, bringing the seawater to a boil.
A vast number of Flame Fish had gathered in the boiling lava.
Several figures sat cross-legged among the Flame Fish.
Phantoms circled around them, now taking the form of golden Peng birds, now great black fish, and now true Kunpeng.
If Lei Chong had seen them, he would have recognized the Kunpeng Method at a glance.
But what they cultivated was an incomplete method, far inferior to the true Kunpeng Method.
Suddenly, one of them opened his eyes, and a ray of fiery light shot from them.
He was a red-haired old man who looked rather advanced in years.
The runes on his body had all withdrawn inward, but his presence was noticeably stronger.
He took out a storage bag and drew a soul tablet from it. It was Han Ming's soul tablet, and it had broken in two.
"Han Ming is dead," the red-haired elder said, his face dark.
At his words, the others around him opened their eyes one after another.
"Han Ming had already reached the Venerable Realm, yet that person managed to kill him. Could he be a Venerable too?" The others' expressions turned grim.
"He must be a Venerable, without a doubt," the red-haired elder said after a moment's thought.
"Han Ming also took the Divine Spirit Array, our clan's Scarlet Blood War Spear, and that killing weapon. Even an ordinary Venerable would have had trouble dealing with him," someone said, shaking his head slightly.
"This..." The others fell silent at those words.
Despite all the measures they had prepared, Han Ming had still died.
"What do we do now? If my guess is right, this person may be at the peak of the Venerable Realm. We must not provoke him again," one of them said.
"Do not speak of revenge again, and we must never provoke this person again. If he comes to our door, we'll put all the blame on Han Ming," another said after thinking for a moment.
"Mm... that's all we can do." The others nodded.
The North Sea was truly vast. Since the last battle, he had been flying for five or six days, yet he still had not seen land.
As before, he sent out a spirit body as bait.
Lei Chong knew very well that Han Ming could not have decided on his own to take the Divine Spirit Array and that single-use killing weapon.
Perhaps the entire upper echelon of the Flame Fish Clan had agreed to it.
Now that he had killed Han Ming, the others might also make a move.
Although he had killed Han Ming, Lei Chong dared not grow overconfident. A deity had once emerged among the Flame Fish, so they surely had other trump cards left.
He could only use his spirit body as bait and deal with whatever came.
Unexpectedly, five or six days had passed without another Flame Fish appearing.
To get to the bottom of it, Lei Chong captured some sea beasts and read their memories, but found nothing unusual.
"Perhaps the Flame Fish Clan got scared too and abandoned their original plan," Lei Chong murmured to himself as he stood among the clouds.
With the Flame Fish having given up on revenge, Lei Chong felt much more at ease. He no longer had to keep his nerves taut every day, worried that an enemy might leap out at any moment.
Of course, he would not let his guard down completely and would remain somewhat vigilant.
Lei Chong landed on an unnamed little island.
After flying for the past five or six days, Lei Chong had long since grown somewhat tired. He had little magical power left in his body and needed to stop and replenish it.
He opened his storage bag and tipped out a fish corpse. The whole corpse was still fresh, as though it had only just died.
A storage bag was also hanging from the fish corpse. Lei Chong removed it and began examining it carefully.
Inside Han Ming's storage bag was a Divine Spirit Array diagram.
It was the very array Han Ming had used. After studying it himself, Lei Chong found the diagram formidable, especially the killing array at its center.
The array patterns within it were profound. It was by no means an ordinary Divine Spirit Array.
Perhaps the Flame Fish's ancestor had obtained some formidable inheritance or studied another great array before creating this one.
Lei Chong studied the array and inscribed array patterns inside his body.
Rather than copying the array outright, he drew on its essence, replacing the killing array runes with his own lightning Dao runes.
When Lei Chong activated the array inside his body, lightning Dao runes automatically appeared around him, and lightning transformed into killing swords, forming a new killing array.
With the aid of the array diagram, Lei Chong's strength increased considerably.
He could also control the array patterns in his body with greater ease.
Han Ming's flesh and blood deserved much of the credit for Lei Chong's rapid cultivation. That Venerable Realm flesh and blood contained an extremely powerful divinity.
To Lei Chong, this divinity was certainly comparable to that of certain holy medicines.
The divinity within this Flame Fish was greatly beneficial to cultivation.
Crackle!
Lei Chong sat cross-legged in a mountain ravine, fine strands of lightning flickering across his body.
A close look would reveal countless tiny patterns on Lei Chong's skin. They were all his lightning Dao runes.
These were the runes he had inscribed inside his body, brought to its surface when activated.
At that moment, Lei Chong's eyes were tightly shut, and his consciousness had grown somewhat hazy, because a strange vision had appeared in his mind.
