  • Over the next three years, Chen Mo reached Mid Golden Core, Lin Yaodong reached Planetary Level Four, and Li Shiyin advanced to Planetary Level Two as Chen Mo traveled the world seeking people with spiritual roots.
Chapters 101–125 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 101Ironback Giant Rhino

Lin Yaodong saved Li Yu and Xiao Bufan from the Ironback Giant Rhino, then exposed its vulnerable rear so the soldiers could attack it. After reinforcements arrived and heavy artillery struck the beast, Lin Yaodong marveled at the destructive power of this world's weapons.

  • Lin Yaodong rescued the wounded Li Yu from beneath the Ironback Giant Rhino and wounded the beast with his saber.
  • Lin Yaodong introduced himself to Xiao Bufan as Donglin, and Xiao Bufan offered to draw the beast's attention away from him.
  • The Ironback Giant Rhino charged again, and Xiao Bufan's attack failed against its armored eyelid; Lin Yaodong saved him from its hindquarters and stabbed the beast's vulnerable rear.
  • Xiao Bufan ordered the soldiers to bombard the wounded area, and they repeatedly drove the Ironback Giant Rhino back with gunfire and rockets.
  • When reinforcements arrived, Xiao Bufan led Lin Yaodong behind the fortifications as heavy artillery struck the Ironback Giant Rhino.
  • Lin Yaodong compared the artillery's power to soul skills and wondered how humans had created such devastating weapons.

Ch. 102Population Migration

Lin Yaodong helped Xiao Bufan’s Military unit survive a monster attack and traveled with them toward Jiangnan Base City, revealing strength that made them eager to recruit him. The group reached a dangerous stretch of their migration route, where a Lord-level Silverback Giant Ape threatened their passage and the legion commander waited for a dispatched War God.

  • Lin Yaodong killed the Ironback Giant Rhino, and Xiao Bufan invited him to join the Military while mistaking his cautious answers for excessive chatter.
  • Xiao Bufan and his teammates thanked Lin Yaodong over a meal, teased him for choking on his first cigarette, and Xiao Bufan offered to introduce him to his daughter.
  • Lin Yaodong helped the Military on the journey to Jiangnan Base City and pretended to break through to Junior War General strength, then killed multiple powerful monsters.
  • The legion commander learned that the migration route passed through the Silverback Giant Apes’ territory, which was controlled by a Lord-level monster, and wondered when the cabinet’s War God would arrive.

Ch. 103Millstone Mountain Defense Line

Lin Yaodong learned that a Lord-level Monster was threatening the Millstone Mountain Defense Line and decided to follow the departing fighters there after consulting Chen Mo. War God Wang Yuan arrived after fighting through a migrating flock of monsters, while Lin Yaodong reached the defense line as the main force evacuated.

  • The Military ordered several fighter brigades to reinforce Millstone Mountain, where a Lord-level Monster led ten thousand beasts.
  • Xiao Bufan and his squad left for the defense line, but Lin Yaodong stayed behind after they urged him not to risk himself.
  • Lin Yaodong asked Chen Mo whether he should help, and Chen Mo told him not to interfere unless he chose to act on his own.
  • Wang Yuan refused to detour around a migrating flock of flying monsters and fought through them to avoid delaying his arrival.
  • Wang Yuan reached the defense line covered in monster blood and asked the legion commander to brief him on the situation.
  • Lin Yaodong followed a Military convoy to Millstone Mountain as troops hurried to evacuate the main force from the area.

Ch. 104The Meat Grinder

A Lord-level Monster led a beast tide against the Millstone Mountain defensive line, forcing the Military to retreat through multiple lines while its forces dwindled. As the hidden Silverback Giant Ape kept the horde advancing, War God Wang Yuan offered to draw it out, but the commanders refused.

  • The Lord-level Monster launched the beast tide, and the Military’s artillery and rockets blasted gaps in the horde that the monsters quickly filled.
  • Lin Yaodong reunited with Xiao Bufan’s seven-member squad, and Xiao Bufan and Xiao Wu warned him to stay close and explained how the squad would retreat between defensive lines.
  • The first defensive line fell within an hour, and after six hours the Military had retreated to the fifth line with four lines lost and nearly half its ammunition spent.
  • At headquarters, the legion commander and staff officers realized the Silverback Giant Ape was hiding, evading reconnaissance, and wearing down the Military through the horde.
  • Wang Yuan volunteered to act as bait and draw out the Silverback Giant Ape, but the legion commander and chief of staff refused.

Ch. 105Counterattack

Liu Qing and his team located the Lord-level Silverback Giant Ape at the cost of exposing themselves to the beast horde. Wang Yuan led a massive countercharge toward the monster, and the warrior legion fought its way to the battlefield.

  • The chief of staff sent Liu Qing to find the Lord-level Silverback Giant Ape, and Liu accepted the near-fatal mission.
  • After three hours, Lin Yaodong and Xiao Bufan rested at the eighth defensive line while Liu Qing's team fired red signal flares to mark the monster's location.
  • The command post ordered a saturation bombardment, and Wang Yuan left to face the Lord-level Monster.
  • The legion commander rallied Military and civilian warriors to attack the beast horde and avenge their fallen.
  • Wang Yuan led several thousand warriors, including Lin Yaodong and Xiao Bufan, in a countercharge that fought its way toward the Lord-level Monster.

Ch. 106The Plan Failed, the Legion Was Wiped Out

Wargod Wang Yuan’s attempt to kill the Silverback Giant Ape collapsed when two other Lord-level Monsters revealed themselves and left him gravely wounded. With more monster hordes closing in, the commander ordered the defensive lines to hold while the civilians retreated toward Jiangnan Base City, and asked the martial artists to protect Wang Yuan if they could.

  • Wargod Wang Yuan and the martial artist legion attacked the Silverback Giant Ape as the surrounding monsters pressed against their perimeter.
  • The Silverback Giant Ape revealed itself to be an Intermediate Lord, seized Wang Yuan’s saber, and helped leave him gravely wounded when a hidden Lord-level Phantom Cheetah ambushed him.
  • A third Lord-level Monster, a giant snake, broke through the perimeter as the monster horde stopped charging.
  • At headquarters, the commander learned that monster hordes from other directions were gathering and ordered the defensive lines to hold while soldiers escorted civilians toward Jiangnan Base City.
  • The commander asked the martial artists to cover Wang Yuan’s retreat if escape became impossible.

Ch. 107Some Things, You Should Tell Your Loved Ones Yourselves!

With the warrior legion nearly surrounded, Lin Yaodong refused to flee and revealed his strength by killing the Phantom Cheetah, then fought the two remaining Lord-level Monsters. He left Wang Yuan to protect the survivors and kept pressing the Titan Python despite the beast horde’s attacks.

  • As the legion prepared for its last stand, Xiao Bufan, Xiao Wu, and the others gave Lin Yaodong keepsakes and messages for their families.
  • Lin Yaodong returned their keepsakes and announced that he would kill the Lord-level Monsters to stop the beast tide.
  • Lin Yaodong used Space Penetration and a Sword-Drawing Slash to behead the Phantom Cheetah, stunning the humans and beasts.
  • The Silverback Giant Ape ordered the horde to attack, while Lin Yaodong rushed the Silverback Giant Ape and Titan Python and fought them both.
  • Lin Yaodong told Wang Yuan to protect the warrior legion instead of joining the fight, and Wang Yuan led the survivors forward.
  • Lin Yaodong gained the upper hand against the Titan Python, which began looking for a chance to retreat as the beast horde continued to interfere.

Ch. 108Slaying the Lords, the Beast Tide Retreats

Lin Yaodong killed four Lord-level Monsters, including a pair of Silverback Giant Apes, and the beast tide dispersed. The 73rd Legion hailed him as Wargod Donglin and thanked him for saving the soldiers and Hongcheng City's million citizens.

  • Lin Yaodong killed the Titan Python and the male Silverback Giant Ape, but the beast tide continued because another Lord-level Silverback Giant Ape remained.
  • A female Silverback Giant Ape attacked Lin Yaodong, and he killed her; the beast horde then lost its controlling force and fled or turned on itself.
  • Xiao Bufan and the others questioned Lin Yaodong about his strength, and he claimed his master had told him to keep a low profile.
  • Wang Yuan thanked Lin Yaodong and reassured him that he had no reason to blame himself for acting later.
  • The legion commander announced that the beast tide was over and credited Wargod Donglin with killing four Lord-level Monsters and saving the 73rd Legion and Hongcheng City's million citizens.
  • The legion commander offered Lin Yaodong the 73rd Legion's help, and Lin Yaodong praised the soldiers for risking their lives to protect civilians.

Ch. 109Trouble Brewed Again

A migrating flock of hundreds of thousands of flying monsters pursued the military migration after Wang Yuan had killed some of them, leaving more than a million civilians and soldiers exposed to attack. As soldiers sacrificed themselves to distract the monsters, Wang Yuan offered to draw them away, but the Legion Commander ordered him to recover and stay alive.

  • A staff officer reported that a flock of 320,000 to 350,000 flying monsters, including at least three Lord-level Monsters, was heading toward the military force.
  • Wang Yuan realized the flock might be pursuing him because he had killed several hundred of its members near the Yun Shan Mountain Range, and the command staff stopped the advance to prepare defenses.
  • Civilians hid as the flock blotted out the sky, while soldiers exposed themselves to lure away monsters approaching the people.
  • A soldier died drawing monsters away, and his comrades restrained another soldier who tried to attack them.
  • The Chief of Staff reported that the decoy unit had lured away only a small portion of the flock and that the main group was still circling overhead.
  • Wang Yuan offered to lure the monsters away, but the Legion Commander told him to recover because Jiangnan Base City would need him alive.

Ch. 110Chen Mo: It Was Time for Day to Break

The legion commander chose to hold off more than 300,000 flying monsters while the chief of staff led civilians toward Jiangnan Base City. As the humans faced overwhelming odds and outdated weapons, Chen Mo decided it was time to act.

  • The legion commander ordered the rear guard to fight while retreating toward Millstone Mountain, then volunteered to stay behind so the chief of staff could escort a million civilians to safety.
  • Lin Yaodong asked whether killing the Lord-level Monsters could scatter the horde, but a staff officer explained that past attempts had failed and the monsters hid among the flyers.
  • The legion commander thanked Lin Yaodong and told him to survive and avenge them rather than join the coming fight.
  • The chapter described how humanity's outdated equipment and limited industrial capacity left it especially vulnerable so soon after the Great Destruction.
  • Chen Mo looked up at the sky and said it was time for day to break.

Ch. 111Boundless Sea Sword Art

As the Military prepared to evacuate the civilians, Chen Mo attacked the flying monster swarm with his Boundless Sea Sword Art. He wiped out a fifth of the swarm and killed a Lord-level Monster, while the remaining four fled into his prepared formations.

  • Lin Yaodong sensed Chen Mo's Spiritual Power changing the sky and told Xiao Bufan's squad that the beast tide would soon end.
  • The flying monsters became anxious as the sky grew oppressive, then split into groups to attack the humans and escape.
  • Chen Mo unleashed the Boundless Sea Sword Art, sending countless water-formed spell swords into the flying monsters.
  • Chen Mo shaped the sword rain into a water dragon that tore through a group, killing tens of thousands of monsters and a Lord-level Monster.
  • The humans cheered as the surviving monsters fled, and Chen Mo relied on his prepared formations to trap them within range of his Spiritual Sense.

Ch. 112The Deed Done, He Brushed Off His Robes and Departed, Hiding His Merit and Name

Chen Mo decided humanity had reached the point where it could no longer survive the flying-monster attack unaided, so he intervened while keeping his identity hidden. After he killed the Lord-level Monsters and most of the flock, the Military and martial artists finished off the remaining attackers, but Chen Mo vanished before anyone could identify him.

  • Chen Mo reflected that he had waited to intervene until humanity had exhausted its own options, after thousands of soldiers died trying to protect the convoy.
  • Chen Mo trapped the flying monsters in a formation, and the panicked flock scattered as several escaped through gaps.
  • Chen Mo killed the three remaining Lord-level Monsters and more than 200,000 flying monsters with his Boundless Sea Sword Art.
  • Chen Mo withdrew the failing formation, allowing most of the surviving monsters to flee while the Military and martial artists killed those that kept attacking.
  • Chen Mo disappeared in the sky, and later Lin Yaodong told people who questioned him that he did not know the mysterious white-robed man's identity.

Ch. 113Li Shiyin and the Trip to Australia (Two-in-One)

Chen Mo warned Lin Yaodong to hide his otherworldly powers on Earth, then worried about being trapped there for eight or nine years. He traveled to Australia with Li Shiyin, a gifted but gravely ill orphan he hoped to save.

  • Chen Mo isolated Lin Yaodong in his space and warned him not to use Soul Ring or Soul Bone abilities, foreign items, or Soul Power unless his life was in danger.
  • Lin Yaodong chose not to learn more about Chen Mo's secrets, and Chen Mo told him to decide for himself whether to join China's Military.
  • Chen Mo realized the system would keep him on Earth for eight or nine years and feared the attention of Sitting Mountain Guest and the risks to his family back on Douluo Continent.
  • Chen Mo considered pursuing the Master of Yunmo Star's inheritance and set out for Australia.
  • Chen Mo brought six-and-a-half-year-old orphan Li Shiyin, whose rare spiritual gifts and powerful soul were weakening her body, and used a Blood Refinement Master's formula to strengthen her.

Ch. 114A Trip to Australia, Part One (Two-in-One)

Chen Mo took Li Shiyin to Australia to search for the Master of Yunmo Star's inheritance and assess the survivors there. After finding several groups he refused to help, he met Vitas and eight other survivors in Melbourne and began questioning them in exchange for possible aid.

  • Chen Mo taught Li Shiyin cultivation concepts while treating her with medicinal baths, and she chose to accompany him to Australia rather than stay behind.
  • Chen Mo and Li Shiyin traveled to Australia aboard the Void Shuttle and explored the ruined city of Melbourne while he searched for the inheritance.
  • Chen Mo inspected five human hideouts and left without helping their inhabitants, judging that they had lost their spirit or behaved badly.
  • At the sixth hideout, Chen Mo met nine wary survivors, used his power to disarm them, and introduced himself as Chen Da, a Chinese clergyman with supernatural abilities.
  • Vitas apologized for the group's hostility, and Chen Mo offered small gifts if they answered his questions truthfully; he learned the survivors' names and backgrounds.

Ch. 115A trip to Australia, part two

After helping survivors across Australia and searching unsuccessfully for Hu Yanbo’s inheritance, Chen Mo returned to China with Li Shiyin, who soon set off to visit home. Chen Mo went to find Lin Yaodong, now known on Earth as Donglin, whose power had advanced across several systems.

  • Chen Mo left Vitas’s group cultivation methods and directions to monster carcasses, and they eagerly set out to hunt.
  • Chen Mo and Li Shiyin spent nearly three months visiting Australian settlements, then explored monster lairs; over five years, he helped more than six hundred people and left protective formations at three major settlements.
  • Li Shiyin reached Mid Foundation Establishment and High-level War God, while Vitas, Haug, and Alice united survivors into three allied settlements.
  • After failing to find Hu Yanbo’s inheritance in Australia, Chen Mo decided to return to China; he and Li Shiyin parted ways after arriving, with Li Shiyin flying off to visit home.
  • Lin Yaodong, using the alias Donglin, had reached the highest level of Heart Blade, Planetary Level in the Warrior System, and level seventy in the Soul Master System.

Ch. 116The Formidable Lin Yaodong

Lin Yaodong had become a Planetary Level expert and helped China grow into a major power, then reunited with Chen Mo after five years apart. Lin Yaodong described his influence and strength, including his victories over Hong and Thunder God.

  • Lin Yaodong reached Planetary Level and became one of only three human experts at that level, alongside Hong and Thunder God.
  • Lin Yaodong helped China establish the War God Temple, expanded its martial arts training, and sharply increased its number of Wargods while eliminating many monsters.
  • Lin Yaodong built a network of loyal civilian experts and gained substantial influence within the Military.
  • Chen Mo emerged from space and reunited with Lin Yaodong, then asked about his experiences over the past five years.
  • Lin Yaodong told Chen Mo that he had sparred with Hong and Thunder God and was stronger than both of them.

Ch. 117The Ruins and Lin Yaodong's Prestige

Hong broke through the protective shield of a ruin, triggering a beam that alerted the major powers. Lin Yaodong led a Chinese expedition with Chen Mo, whose presence prompted the Military to let Lin Yaodong control the expedition’s gains, and the team entered the ruins alongside rival factions.

  • Hong broke through the ruins’ protective shield, and a beam of light alerted nearby forces before he hurried inside to claim its benefits.
  • The Military asked Lin Yaodong to lead a team to the site because Hong was there, and Lin Yaodong agreed.
  • After Lin Yaodong informed him about the ruins, Chen Mo ended his own exploration and joined him, concealing his appearance.
  • Lin Yaodong assembled a Chinese team with equal numbers of Military and non-Military Wargods, and the state authorized him to distribute all the expedition’s gains.
  • Lin Yaodong arrived on the island after America and led Chen Mo and most of the Chinese Wargods into the ruins while several Military Wargods handled defense and communications.

Ch. 118The Test

Lin Yaodong led China’s Wargods through the fourth route of the treasure-hunt ruins after Chen Mo advised him, and they reached the inner ruins unharmed. A gate required one hundred qualified entrants, and its test revealed Chen Mo’s exceptional readings.

  • Lin Yaodong received Chen Mo’s advice to take the fourth path and led the Chinese group through it safely.
  • The group found other entrants gathered at a gate that would open once one hundred people qualified.
  • A Wargod explained that entrants had to place a hand on an obsidian device to be tested.
  • The Chinese Wargods were tested, raising the gate’s count to sixty-nine out of one hundred.
  • Chen Da’s test showed Apprentice~Planetary Life Origin Energy and a Brain Domain Width of eighty-two, exposing Chen Mo’s power.
  • The readings showed Lin Yaodong and Hong each had Planetary Level Two cultivation.

Ch. 119An Interesting Ruin

The world’s powerful martial artists gathered at the ruin, where Chen Mo’s extraordinary Brain Domain Width and strength made the others wary. After studying the silver vortex’s teleportation, Chen Mo entered the secret realm last, and the ruin’s gate opened once the vortex vanished.

  • The remaining powerful fighters arrived, and the silver vortex appeared when the gate’s count reached one hundred.
  • The numbered martial artists entered the vortex, while Atkin, Mohanderson, and Isadora eventually yielded to the pressure of competing with Chen Mo, Lin Yaodong, Hong, and Thunder God.
  • Chen Mo stepped into the vortex but stayed there to study its teleportation, while Lin Yaodong, Hong, and Thunder God were transported into the secret realm.
  • Chen Mo reflected that the ruin’s trials screened entrants for luck, strength, and Brain Domain Width, then released his spatial ability and entered the secret realm.
  • The vortex vanished and the ruin’s gate opened, prompting the Wargods still outside to rush inside.

Ch. 120Elementary Intelligence (Two-in-One)

Chen Mo passed the spaceship’s combat test, uncovered the elementary intelligence’s plan to choose a new master, and learned that it was considering Hong after he awakened a domain. The intelligence questioned Chen Mo about his cultivation and knowledge of the universe, leaving its decision on a new master pending.

  • Chen Mo defeated the humanoid figure of light and resisted the force trying to transport him into the secret realm.
  • Chen Mo deduced that an elementary intelligence had altered the ruins to select a suitable new master, and Steward confirmed the plan and explained its origins.
  • Steward asked to wait three days before choosing a master because changing access privileges would stop it from controlling the secret realm.
  • Chen Mo realized Steward was also considering Hong, and Steward confirmed that Hong had awakened a domain.
  • Steward asked Chen Mo about his cultivation system and his understanding of the world and universe, and Chen Mo described both.

Ch. 121Elementary Intelligence: Thousand-Faced Witch

Chen Mo intimidated a newly awakened elementary intelligence into accepting him as master and named her Thousand-Faced Witch. After indulging in her appearance options, he told her to continue her secret-realm plan and prepare the ruins for him, while she delayed his soul imprint until she finished using the spacecraft’s authorizations.

  • Chen Mo used his knowledge of the wider universe to impress the elementary intelligence, which asked whether he would treat it well as its master.
  • Chen Mo promised not to treat one of his own unfairly, and the intelligence knelt and asked him to choose a name.
  • Chen Mo named the intelligence Thousand-Faced Witch and had her display different appearances, while she privately questioned whether she had chosen the right master.
  • Chen Mo told Thousand-Faced Witch to keep the secret realm open, secure the ruins’ valuables, and follow her original plan for the next three days.
  • Thousand-Faced Witch warned Chen Mo that she needed several more days to use the spacecraft’s authorization privileges before he could imprint her soul core.

Ch. 122Spaceship

Thousand-Faced Witch brought Chen Mo to the Dawn’s damaged core, where she explained the ship’s condition and the fate of its other AIs. As she organized the salvageable technology for him, Chen Mo assessed what remained usable and planned to take it with him.

  • Thousand-Faced Witch teleported Chen Mo to the Dawn’s core and told him that the other AI mainframes had been destroyed in battle.
  • Thousand-Faced Witch said she could not repair the three auxiliary AI mainframes because she lacked parts and repair information.
  • Chen Mo ordered Thousand-Faced Witch to dismantle and pack up every useful device, and she asked him to help with instruments the robots could not handle.
  • Thousand-Faced Witch explained that the Dawn had been converted from a retired Martial Might-71 and described its damaged weapons, propulsion system, and remaining equipment.
  • Thousand-Faced Witch spent several hours listing the ship’s salvageable devices while Chen Mo watched the secret realm and assessed the technology.
  • Chen Mo decided that the AI and spaceship equipment would serve him in future worlds while he waited for the system to recharge.

Ch. 123Surprised? Happy?

Chen Mo revealed that he had taken the secret realm’s final prize before the token holders arrived, after the warriors fought the guardians and looted the realm. The five token holders were teleported to his spaceship, where he explained that Yin Shabei'er had found the fifth token and ended by asking if they were surprised and happy.

  • Hong defeated the fire guardian, Thunder God defeated the lightning guardian, and Lin Yaodong killed the wood guardian after a difficult fight, each taking a token and an attribute treasure.
  • Mohanderson, Isadora, and Atkin joined forces to kill the ice guardian; Mohanderson took its Ice Crystal Jade, Isadora claimed its token, and Atkin left empty-handed.
  • The warriors looted the exposed treasures, then began fighting one another as the secret realm’s closure approached.
  • When the realm closed, the five token holders were teleported to Chen Mo’s spaceship, including Yin Shabei'er, who had found the fifth token just before time ran out.
  • Chen Mo told the group that he had taken the final prize and the realm’s greatest benefit three days earlier, then asked whether they were surprised and happy.

Ch. 124Taking a Master

Chen Mo revealed his connection to Lin Yaodong, accepted Thunder God as his disciple, and demonstrated Hong’s domain through a spar. The chapter ended after Lin Yaodong fought Hong and admitted defeat, though Hong would have needed hours to kill him.

  • Chen Mo subdued Isadora and told Hong that he knew about his domain and had once hoped to recruit him and Thunder God.
  • Lin Yaodong clarified that Chen Mo was his big brother and had trained him, astonishing Hong and Thunder God.
  • Chen Mo accepted Thunder God as his disciple, gave him a jade token and a Space Ring, and laid out his expectations for his disciples.
  • At Chen Mo’s suggestion, Thunder God sparred with Hong to experience a domain firsthand and ended up battered and hiding in a corner.
  • Lin Yaodong stepped between Hong and Chen Mo, then fought Hong for about half an hour before conceding defeat.

Ch. 125Gains and the End

Chen Mo defeated Hong, accepted him as an inner disciple, and expanded his circle of followers while explaining the unusual potential of Earth’s people. Three years later, Chen Mo and his companions had advanced in cultivation, and he continued searching the world for people with spiritual roots to teach.

  • Hong activated his domain and fought Chen Mo, but Chen Mo immobilized him briefly with a spell and defeated him with the Yin Yang Mother-Child Curved Blades.
  • Chen Mo advised Hong about the limits of domains, and Hong accepted him as a disciple after Thunder God urged him to do so.
  • Chen Mo accepted Isadora as an outer disciple, offered Yin Shabei'er a chance to qualify, and established ranks for his disciples.
  • After the secret realm closed, human experts explored the revealed ruins for treasures, while Chen Mo left without joining them.
  • Three years passed as Chen Mo reached Mid Golden Core, Lin Yaodong reached Planetary Level Four, and Li Shiyin advanced to Planetary Level Two as a Spirit Reader and Peak Foundation Establishment.
  • Chen Mo traveled across the world, tested people with spiritual roots, and gave those who passed immortal cultivation methods and instruction.
