Story Role / Major Arcs
Early Spending and Team Building
Beijing is the setting for Su Jin’s first documented luxury purchases. At SKP, her system-issued black card gives her priority access to a Himalaya bag, turning Wang Siyu’s argument with Hermès staff into a public defeat. The encounter also attracts Lu Shen’s attention 2.
Her activities soon extend beyond shopping. At a Beijing café, she hires Shen Mingwei to organize her scattered properties into a boutique guesthouse business. She subsequently hires Cheng Yan as her art adviser, while Zhou Ye assembles a five-person veteran security team in Beijing 5 6 9 11.
Auctions, Fashion, and New Connections
Su Jin’s forty-second check-in grants her 35% of Beijing Poly Auction and exclusive Chinese agency rights for The Star. She inspects the Wangfujing boutique, attends her first Poly board meeting, and purchases the Shichahai courtyard house 10 11.
Lu Shen’s cocktail party connects her with investors, collectors, and Vogue China editor-in-chief Zhao Yu. Her subsequent Beijing Vogue shoot brings widespread online attention. During Chen Shen’s visit to the city, the Beijing Racing Club also becomes the setting for her introduction to Ji Yunshen and the arrangements for her MIT visiting-scholar opportunity 12 13.
Before leaving for Boston, Su Jin completes the courtyard house’s restoration and attends The Star’s Wangfujing opening 14 15.
Business Base During Her Overseas Career
Beijing remains an operational base after Su Jin moves abroad. She participates remotely in Huace Starlight’s talent selection, then returns during the filming of Winter Harbor to interview Lin Xiaozhou and approve her contract 18 19.
On another return, she selects Windbreaking Pictures as an acquisition target and sets a one-month due-diligence deadline. Later, she gathers representatives of her businesses at the courtyard house for SJ Group’s first strategic meeting, outlining plans for ME stores, international game distribution, and the recreation of peachbloom glaze 20 30.
Later Creative and Racing Projects
After returning from her family reunion in Italy, Su Jin goes to Huace Starlight to review the game team’s selected Liaozhai stories and its fear- and emotion-based combat concepts. Another return brings her directly from Jingdezhen to the Nüwa costume fitting, where she offers to fire a real five-colored brick for the production 36 42.
Following the Poetry Across China press conference, she reunites with Chen Shen at Ruisi Racing Circuit. There, she proposes a team built around Chinese cars, engines, and drivers; Chen Shen agrees to race with her 48.
