Fused Divine Power
There were simply too many living creatures on the prairie. Even after spending two whole years there, Rog still had many species he had yet to observe.
Studying the souls of all manner of strange creatures was also a way for his death divine clone to cultivate. Cultivating the Death Rule involved a long process of soul research to begin with, and every accomplished Death Rule cultivator could be called a master of souls.
In the Lost Forest, the fluctuations of the Natural Laws that accompanied a breakthrough to godhood appeared once again.
The continent's experts, unaware of the truth, were filled with shock and doubt. Some even wondered whether another treasure had appeared on the continent that could easily help people become gods.
"I've finally reached godhood in the Laws of Lightning too. Now I can finally try fusing divine power." Rog's cultivation of the Death Rule mainly focused on soul attacks, so having fused divine power or not made little difference to his strength. After all, soul attacks were performed using soul power and had nothing to do with the strength of his divine power. For material attacks, however, having fused divine power made a considerable difference.
If he could successfully fuse the divine power of both types and use it in battle alongside his current understanding of the Laws of Lightning, he could match an ordinary Midgod. Then Rog would have no weaknesses in either soul or material combat, and he would no longer have to fear fighting others at close quarters.
Three days later, his lightning divine clone and death divine clone successfully reunited. His Saint Domain true body remained in that cave in the Lost Forest, cultivating as steadfastly as ever.
Although his true body was only at the Saint-level and had no divine power, its understanding of the laws was shared with the clones, and its soul was the same as theirs. In theory, there was no great difference in strength between his true body and his death divine clone; it only lacked the God's Domain ability unique to gods.
Of course, with Dimont, a Divine Beast, following his true body as a bodyguard, he had no need to fear any danger.
"Sizzle!" Rog's two divine clones merged into one, drawing on both types of divine power at once. Under the direction of his consciousness, the divine power slowly began to fuse.
Originally, the death divine clone's divine power was gray, while the lightning divine clone's was purple. Once fused, the divine power transformed into a grayish purple.
Of course, the color was secondary. The key was that its "quality" and "intensity" had also undergone a transformation. This new "fused divine power" was a full level stronger than either of the original types, enough to rival a Midgod's divine power.
"Still, the fused divine power isn't perfect yet. It has some flaws." After carefully examining and testing it, Rog discovered the problems.
First, this fused divine power was neither death divine power nor lightning divine power. Although its "quality" was no worse than Midgod Power, it was not fully compatible with the Laws of Lightning. Compared with using genuine Midgod-level lightning divine power, the lightning divine clone's combat strength was two to three times weaker.
Second, the fused divine power's characteristics were far too conspicuous. There was a great difference between purple and this grayish purple mixed with a trace of gray. Moreover, its aura was noticeably different from that of ordinary death divine power and lightning divine power, making it easy for others to guess that he was a Soul Mutator.
"Solving these two problems could be called either easy or difficult." Recalling some details from the original work, Rog soon reached a conclusion-
To solve both problems at once, he had to fuse two different kinds of profound mysteries. Once he fused profound mysteries from two different laws or rules, he would naturally be able to bring out the full power of his fused divine power.
And once the laws were fused, the divine power would naturally fuse more perfectly as well. By then, he would be able to change its aura however he wished, without worrying that others could easily see the truth behind his fused divine power.
"Fusing profound mysteries from two different laws has power equal to fusing three profound mysteries of the same law. Add the boost from fused divine power, and that's what they call a 'fully accomplished Soul Mutator.'" Rog recalled the fellow named Liermons from the original work. Once a Soul Mutator reached that stage, he could be considered to have made a name for himself.
As long as both divine clones broke through to the Highgod level, he would possess the strength of a Seven-Star Fiend. Even in the Higher Planes, where experts were as numerous as clouds, a Seven-Star Fiend's strength was nothing to scoff at. This was also the cultivation path Rog had originally planned.
"But the problem now is how to combine the Death Rule with the Laws of Lightning. Even now, I still don't have much of an idea. After all, everything I've comprehended of the Death Rule concerns the soul, while the profound mysteries of the Laws of Lightning I've comprehended all concern the material side. I can't even find a suitable starting point." Still, Rog was not too anxious. He did not intend to go to a Higher Plane before becoming a Midgod anyway.
And even with Rog's outstanding talent, cultivating to the Midgod level on a Material Plane would not be all that easy. There was no need to rush for the moment; he could simply let things take their natural course.
On the Orc Great Prairie stood the main altar of the War Priests.
This was where the greatest figure of the orc race lived-the High Priest Wumengta.
The High Priest was an old foxman. Rog had previously used his divine sense to investigate him from a distance and confirmed that Wumengta was only an ordinary Lowgod. But according to human historical records, Wumengta had lived for nearly thirty thousand years. No one knew whether he had any trump cards hidden away.
"I had some reservations before, but now that my two divine clones have fused, I can get away unscathed even if he's a Midgod. It's time I went and introduced myself." If Wumengta had nothing hidden, then his only advantage over Rog might be his more abundant reserves of divine power and the more complete nurturing of his divine artifact.
Divine artifacts required gods to spend a long time imbuing them with divine power, attuning and nurturing them. This process was often measured in thousands or tens of thousands of years.
The artifact Wumengta had nurtured was probably already a fairly good Lowgod Artifact. The scythe Rog's death divine clone had been nurturing had only received three years of such treatment, so its power could hardly compare with an artifact that had been nurtured for thirty thousand years.
Wumengta looked like an ordinary, stooped old orc, his face covered in wrinkles. In truth, after reaching the divine level, he had long been able to change his appearance and build at will. Appearing before others in this form was simply his own choice.
"My friend, three people on the continent recently became gods in succession. One of them should have been you, correct?" Rog deliberately released his aura, and Wumengta opened his half-closed, cloudy eyes and looked toward where Rog stood.
"My name is Rog, a Lightning Element Lowgod." Because an "undead calamity" had once occurred in the continent's history, every race was hostile toward Death Rule cultivators. Rog therefore chose to reveal only his lightning divine clone for the time being.
"Hello, Rog. I'm Wumengta, a Lowgod of the Edicts of Fate." Wumengta introduced himself in the same manner as Rog. "The Edicts of Fate?" Rog gave Wumengta a somewhat surprised look. He had not known that the orcs possessed an inheritance of the Edicts of Fate.
Like the Death Rule, the Edicts of Fate had demanding requirements for both passing down their inheritance and cultivating them. He had not expected Glais, a seemingly unremarkable Material Plane, to have gods of all Four Edicts.
After all, Dimont had previously become a god through the Edicts of Destruction, and with the addition of the Elven Empress, who had most likely become a god through the Life Law, all Four Edicts were represented.
"Wumengta, I haven't fought anyone since I became a god. How about the two of us have a spar?" The Edicts of Fate were famous for their bizarre methods of attack, but in the Coiling Dragon World, the so-called Edicts of Fate only affected the soul and material aspects of others. They did not involve wondrous methods such as karmic retribution or foreseeing the future.
"Very well, I accept. Let's go spar on the distant prairie." Wumengta hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement with Rog's request.
After all, the other party was only a Lowgod who had broken through not long ago and probably had not even managed to nurture a divine artifact. Wumengta, on the other hand, had cultivated for a full thirty thousand years and had now reached the peak Lowgod realm, not far from breaking through to the Midgod level.
There were simply too few divine-level experts on the Glais Continent, and he was the orcs' "anchor" on the continent, so he did not dare take risks lightly by fighting other divine-level experts to the death. Naturally, he would not pass up this chance to spar with a "new god." Perhaps the spar would give him some inspiration and even allow him to break straight through to the Midgod level.
"All right, let's use that place as our sparring ground." Rog pointed to an empty, desolate area in the distance. There were few plants and hardly any living creatures there, so they did not have to worry about harming Wumengta's people.
"Agreed." Wumengta readily consented. The two flew to the barren area, one after the other, then faced each other and stared intently at their opponent. A moment later, Luo Ao attacked first.
Rog's weapon was a saber forged from Leiming Purple Copper. However, he had only recently broken through in the Lightning Law, and the saber had not been nurtured at all. Still, there should not be much trouble using it to clash with a Lowgod Artifact for a short time.
