Fierce Battle with the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
Dozens of ice blades shot from the blade toward the Tyrannosaurus's eyes-one of the most vulnerable parts of a dragon's body.
"Hmph! Petty tricks!" The Tyrannosaurus snorted and closed its eyes. At the same time, a black shield of light appeared over its body.
"Clink, clink, clink..."
The ice blades struck the shield and splashed into water, unable to penetrate its defenses at all.
"Is this the domain power of a Saint-level being?" Haoyue's gaze sharpened. "Its defense really is strong."
Still, he hadn't expected a few ice blades to hurt his opponent. Those attacks had only been a test.
"Human, you have succeeded in enraging me!" The Tyrannosaurus's eyes snapped open, blazing with murderous light. "I'll show you the price of offending a great member of the dragon race!"
As the words fell, it threw its enormous jaws open.
Terrifying energy gathered in its mouth. The black light grew brighter and brighter, until even the space around it began to warp.
"Dragon breath!"
A pillar of black light erupted from the Tyrannosaurus's mouth, sweeping toward Haoyue like a light of world destruction. Wherever it passed, the ground melted outright, leaving a deep trench.
Haoyue's expression changed slightly. He didn't dare take it head-on.
His figure flickered as he dodged to the side with all his strength. The black dragon breath grazed past him, and its terrifying heat sent a searing pain across his skin.
"That was close." Haoyue's heart still pounded.
So this is Saint-level dragon breath? Its power really is terrifying. If it hit me head-on, even with Mountain Dragon Soul's defense and From Mind to Matter's health bonus, I'd probably be half-dead.
"Dodge? Let's see how far you can dodge!" The Tyrannosaurus sneered, sweeping its dragon breath like a whip as it pursued Haoyue relentlessly.
The entire cavern became a purgatory. Black dragon breath rampaged everywhere, melting the rock walls and scorching the ground. The air filled with the acrid smell of sulfur.
Haoyue darted through the gaps between the streams of dragon breath, moving so fast that only afterimages remained. His reflexes and speed had reached an inconceivable level, and several times he narrowly avoided the dragon breath's attacks.
Damn, this beast sure can breathe fire, Haoyue cursed inwardly as he dodged. I can't keep this up. I need to find a way to get close.
His advantage lay in close combat. With the Heavyweight Striker's percentage-based damage, as long as he could get close, he could whittle away its health bit by bit, even through Saint-level defenses.
The problem was that the Tyrannosaurus's dragon breath covered too wide an area. He couldn't get close at all.
"Earth Element magic: Earth Spike Cage!"
A thought occurred to Haoyue, and he instantly cast an Earth Element spell.
The ground around the Tyrannosaurus shook violently. Huge stone spikes burst from the earth, surrounding it like a fence.
"Hmph! You think something like this can trap me?" The Tyrannosaurus snorted disdainfully and casually swept out a dragon claw.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
It smashed the hard stone spikes to pieces as easily as if they were tofu.
But that brief delay was enough.
"Tiger-Stripe Battle-qi! Speed me up!"
Haoyue abruptly accelerated, turning into a bolt of black lightning as he charged at the Tyrannosaurus. His speed reached its limit. Almost as if he had teleported, he appeared beneath the Tyrannosaurus in the blink of an eye.
"Die!"
Haoyue leaped high, raising his miao saber overhead as terrifying energy gathered furiously along its blade.
A blade light of dazzling brilliance, as if it could cleave heaven and earth apart, slashed viciously at the Tyrannosaurus's belly-where its scales were relatively weaker.
"Clang-!!!"
The blow landed squarely on the Tyrannosaurus's stomach.
Sparks flew!
A deep wound appeared in the Tyrannosaurus's hard scales, and black dragon blood gushed out, falling like rain.
"Roar-!!!"
The Tyrannosaurus let out a pained roar, its enormous body shuddering violently. It had never imagined that this tiny human could actually hurt it!
"Human! You deserve to die!!!"
The Tyrannosaurus went completely berserk.
It suddenly lowered its head and opened its jaws, snapping at Haoyue. Its enormous maw could have swallowed an entire house in one bite.
"Bring it on!"
Rather than being startled, Haoyue was delighted. Instead of dodging away, he went straight at it.
He deftly shifted aside, evading the Tyrannosaurus's gaping maw, then climbed up its head, swinging his miao saber again and again.
"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"
Every slash left a deep wound on the Tyrannosaurus and sent dragon blood spraying.
Haoyue attacked at a frightening pace, striking more than a dozen times a second. Every blow also carried the Heavyweight Striker's percentage-based damage, and the accumulated damage was considerable.
"Roar-!!!"
The Tyrannosaurus roared madly in pain. It whipped its head and neck around, trying desperately to throw Haoyue off. But Haoyue clung to it like a festering sore, and no matter how it shook, it couldn't dislodge him.
"Damn human! Get off me!"
In its rage, the Tyrannosaurus slammed itself toward the nearby rock wall. It wanted to crush Haoyue against it!
"Trying to crush me? Not so easy." Haoyue chuckled and leaped into the air a moment before the Tyrannosaurus hit the wall.
"Boom-!!!"
The Tyrannosaurus's head slammed into the rock wall, shaking the entire cavern violently. Massive chunks of rock fell from the ceiling and crashed to the ground with deafening noise.
Haoyue, meanwhile, had taken the opportunity to fly onto the Tyrannosaurus's back.
"Get down!"
Haoyue stomped hard on the Tyrannosaurus's back and drove his miao saber down!
"Pfft!"
The blade plunged deep into the Tyrannosaurus's spine, almost to the hilt.
"Roar-!!!"
The Tyrannosaurus let out an agonized roar. Its enormous body staggered several steps, nearly falling.
It could feel its life force draining away rapidly. This human's attacks were too strange; every blow took a considerable portion of its life force. If this continued, it might really die here!
No, I can't keep fighting!
This human is too strange. I have to retreat first!
The thought of retreat took root in the Tyrannosaurus's mind.
It shook its body violently, throwing Haoyue off its back, then set off on its thick legs, intending to race out of the cavern.
"Trying to run?" Haoyue narrowed his eyes. "Not a chance!"
He had gone to great lengths to find such a severely injured Saint-level Tyrannosaurus. How could he let it escape?
"Earth Element magic: Gravity Spell!"
Haoyue rapidly formed hand seals. Powerful Earth Element energy gathered into a terrifying gravity field that enveloped the Tyrannosaurus.
"Hm?" The Tyrannosaurus felt its body grow heavy, and its flying speed abruptly slowed.
But that wasn't enough.
"Water Element magic: Ice Chains!"
"Fire Element magic: Flame Bind!"
He hurled all kinds of binding spells as though they cost nothing. They wrapped around the Tyrannosaurus one after another, slowing it further and further.
But the Tyrannosaurus was a Saint-level being, after all. It roared, black light blazed around it, and its domain power easily shattered the binding spells.
"You think these little tricks can hold me, Pawalei?" the Tyrannosaurus sneered.
"Don't rush. The main event is still to come." Haoyue smiled faintly.
He took a deep breath and began moving his hands rapidly. All kinds of spells rained down on the Tyrannosaurus-Fire Element fireballs, Water Element ice spikes, and Earth Element rock strikes.
In his Archmage state, Haoyue was a mobile magic turret-and one with no cooldowns and instant casting!
In an instant, more than a hundred spells blasted toward the Tyrannosaurus at once, dazzling in a riot of colors.
"Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom-!!!"
A continuous series of explosions thundered against the Tyrannosaurus.
Although a single spell's power was nothing much to a Saint-level Tyrannosaurus, there were simply too many of them! More than a hundred spells exploded at once, leaving even the Tyrannosaurus dizzy and its black shield trembling violently.
"Damn it! Damn it!!" The Tyrannosaurus was both shocked and furious.
In its thousands of years of life, it had never seen such a strange mage. He cast spells far too quickly, as though they cost nothing! A normal mage had to chant for ages to cast a single ninth-level spell, but this guy cast more than a dozen a second, all of them instantly!
How am I supposed to fight that?
The Tyrannosaurus was driven steadily backward, its desire to retreat growing stronger.
It suddenly unleashed a massive blast of dragon breath, forcing Haoyue back, then turned and fled toward the cavern exit.
"Trying to run? Did you ask the blade in my hand?"
A fierce light flashed in Haoyue's eyes. He stomped on the ground and shot forward like a cannonball. His speed reached its limit at that moment, and he caught up to the fleeing Tyrannosaurus almost as if he had teleported.
"Sever!"
Haoyue raised his miao saber high, terrifying energy gathering to its peak along the blade. He had put all his strength into this strike!
A dazzling blade light dozens of meters long tore through the air, slashing viciously at the Tyrannosaurus's hind leg like the grim reaper's scythe!
"Pfft-!!!"
Blood sprayed!
Haoyue had hacked clean through one of the Tyrannosaurus's hind legs!
"Roar-!!!"
The Tyrannosaurus let out an agonized scream. Its enormous body lost its balance and crashed heavily to the ground, sliding dozens of meters and plowing a deep trench into the floor.
It struggled to get up, but with one leg severed, it couldn't stand at all.
"Human... you're ruthless!" The Tyrannosaurus turned its head and glared viciously at Haoyue, its eyes full of hatred and fear. "I am Pawalei, a noble dragon! If you kill me, Pawalei's brothers and sisters won't let you get away with it!"
"Pawalei?" Haoyue raised an eyebrow. "Never heard of you."
He walked toward the Tyrannosaurus one step at a time, dragon blood dripping from the miao saber in his hand, his gaze cold.
"You... stay back!" The Tyrannosaurus panicked completely. "I can give you treasure! I have lots and lots of treasure! You can have it all! Please, spare me!"
The once lofty Saint-level dragon had actually begun begging for mercy.
Haoyue paused.
Treasure?
He would be lying if he said he wasn't tempted. A dragon's treasure meant mountains of valuables!
But...
"Treasure is good, but your life is more important." Haoyue shook his head. "My little brother is still waiting for your dragon blood to awaken his bloodline. Don't worry, I'll make it quick."
"No-!!!"
The blade light flashed.
The Tyrannosaurus's scream cut off abruptly.
The enormous dragon head fell to the ground, its eyes wide open as he fell unconscious. Even now, he couldn't believe that he was really about to die at a human's hands.
The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus, Pawalei, was severely injured!
Haoyue put away his miao saber and let out a long breath.
"Phew... finally got him."
To be honest, that battle had been quite a struggle. Although his opponent had only been at thirty percent strength, it had still been a Saint-level being. Without the Archmage's no-cooldown magic and the Heavyweight Striker's percentage-based damage, he might not have won.
Haoyue smiled, then turned and headed back toward the cave from before.
"All right, time to go get that kid Linley. With the Tyrannosaurus's blood, his Dragonblood Warrior bloodline will definitely awaken perfectly!"
Haoyue's figure soon disappeared into the cave passage.
