Dragonblood Warrior
Haoyue soon returned to the cave.
Linley was waiting anxiously. When he saw Haoyue return, he hurried over. "Brother Haoyue, you're back! Are you all right?"
"What could happen to me?" Haoyue smiled and patted Linley on the shoulder. "Come on, I'll take you somewhere good."
"Where?" Linley asked curiously.
"You'll know when we get there." Haoyue smiled mysteriously, then led the way deeper into the cave.
Though curious, Linley obediently followed. Bebe lay on his shoulder, his little eyes darting around as he, too, wondered where Brother Haoyue was taking them.
After walking for a dozen or so minutes, they arrived at the enormous cavern from before.
When Linley saw the massive, grievously wounded body of the Tyrannosaurus in the center of the cavern, he was utterly stunned.
"Th-this is..." Linley's voice trembled.
He could clearly feel a terrifying pressure radiating from the Tyrannosaurus's enormous body. Even though it was gravely wounded, the majesty of a Saint-level dragon still made his heart tremble.
"A Tyrannosaurus at the Early Saint-level," Haoyue said casually. "Well? Not bad, right?"
"S-Saint-level..." Linley felt as though his mind couldn't keep up.
Brother Haoyue had actually... gravely wounded a Saint-level Tyrannosaurus?
Wasn't that just too outrageous?!
"Grandpa Doehring, is... is that really a Saint-level dragon?" Linley asked inwardly.
"Y-yes, it is..." Doehring Cowart's voice was filled with shock. "That aura... it's definitely Saint-level! And it's a Tyrannosaurus, royalty among dragons! Haoyue... he really did gravely wound a Saint-level dragon!"
Linley swallowed, and the way he looked at Haoyue changed completely.
Just how strong was Brother Haoyue?
"All right, stop standing there like a fool." Haoyue patted Linley's shoulder. "Don't you want to awaken your Dragonblood Warrior bloodline? With this Tyrannosaurus's blood and your Blue Heart Grass, I guarantee your bloodline will awaken perfectly. It'll be a hundred times better than using a Spined Iron-Armored Dragon's blood."
"R-really?" Linley was both astonished and delighted.
Using the blood of a Saint-level Tyrannosaurus to awaken his bloodline? He'd never even dared to imagine it before!
"Of course." Haoyue smiled. "Come on, I'll let its blood out for you first. Get your Blue Heart Grass ready, and we'll start now."
"Okay! Okay!" Linley nodded hurriedly, his hands trembling with excitement.
He took out a large handful of Blue Heart Grass and held it in his hand.
Haoyue walked over to the Tyrannosaurus and swung the miaodao in his hand, cutting a gash in its neck. Black dragon blood immediately gushed out like a fountain.
A heavy dragon might and the stench of blood filled the air.
"Come here, Linley," Haoyue called. "Take off your clothes and get into the dragon blood. Then take the Blue Heart Grass and use your family's method to activate your bloodline."
"Okay!"
Without hesitation, Linley quickly stripped off his shirt and walked to where the dragon blood was gushing out. He let the scorching blood pour over him, opened his mouth wide, and drank it down in great gulps.
The instant the searing dragon blood touched his skin and entered his mouth, Linley felt as though he had been thrown into a furnace. A fierce, burning pain spread throughout his body.
"It's so hot...!" Linley gritted his teeth and endured the pain.
"Don't talk. Focus!" Haoyue said gravely. "Take the Blue Heart Grass and use the method in your family's Dragonblood Secret Manual. Remember, the process might be agonizing, but you have to hold on."
"Mm!"
Linley nodded, stuffed the Blue Heart Grass into his mouth, and began chewing in large bites.
The Blue Heart Grass melted in his mouth, turning into a cool energy that flowed down his throat and into his stomach. It quickly spread throughout his body, easing some of the burning pain caused by the dragon blood.
Next, Linley followed the secret Dragonblood Warrior awakening method passed down in his family and began guiding the power of the dragon blood into his body.
The scorching power of the dragon blood burrowed through his pores like fire snakes, rampaging through his meridians. The pain was worse than being sliced apart.
Linley clenched his teeth and endured with all his might. Veins bulged on his forehead, and sweat mixed with dragon blood streamed down his body.
Inside him, the power of the dragon blood was assaulting his bloodline wildly.
He could feel an ancient, slumbering power deep within his body slowly being awakened by the external power of the dragon blood. That power was also filled with the majesty of a dragon, but it was more ancient and more noble than the Tyrannosaurus blood outside.
It was the Dragonblood Warrior bloodline of the Baruch Clan!
"Almost... it's almost awake..." Doehring Cowart's voice was excited. "Linley, come on! Hold on!"
Linley said nothing. He was in too much pain to speak.
Cyan dragon scales began to appear on the surface of his body. They spread from his chest, gradually covering his arms, neck, and even his cheeks.
At the same time, his aura was rising wildly.
Level Six Warrior... Level Seven Warrior... Eighth-level Warrior...
Such powerful vitality... Standing nearby and sensing Linley's steadily rising aura, Haoyue marveled inwardly. As expected of the Dragonblood Warrior bloodline. Its potential is truly terrifying.
He could tell that Linley's awakening this time was far more effective than when he had awakened using a Spined Iron-Armored Dragon's tendon in the original story. After all, a Tyrannosaurus's bloodline was of a much higher level than a Spined Iron-Armored Dragon's.
Moreover, with enough Blue Heart Grass to help, the awakening process was smoother and more thorough.
Time passed, second by second.
The dragon scales on Linley grew denser and more solid. Eventually, cyan scales covered almost his entire body, leaving only a few areas such as his eyes, nose, and mouth exposed. A dragon horn grew from his forehead.
He also grew taller and more burly, his muscles bulging with explosive power.
His aura finally stabilized at the level of an Eighth-level Warrior.
Boom!
Suddenly, a powerful aura erupted from Linley. His eyes snapped open, golden light flickering in his pupils.
Roar!!!
A deep dragon roar came from his mouth.
Though it wasn't loud, it carried a majesty that made the heart tremble.
The Dragonblood Warrior bloodline had been successfully awakened!
Linley clenched his fists, feeling the surging power within him, and excitement appeared on his face.
"Power... such incredible power!"
He could feel that his current strength was more than ten times what it had been before.
"Well, how do you feel?" Haoyue walked over and asked with a smile.
"Brother Haoyue, thank you so much!" Linley said excitedly. "If it weren't for you, I couldn't have awakened my bloodline so smoothly, or so thoroughly."
"No need to be so polite with me." Haoyue waved a hand. "We're brothers. Oh, right, you've just awakened, so get used to this power first. You don't want to hurt yourself because you can't control it."
"Mm!" Linley nodded firmly.
He tried throwing a punch.
Whoosh!
The wind from his fist roared, striking the air with a shriek.
Even Linley himself was startled.
"Such power..." Linley murmured. "Is this a Dragonblood Warrior?"
"All right, all right, you can get used to it slowly." Haoyue patted him on the shoulder. "The most urgent thing is to get out of this hellhole. You've just awakened, so you need to consolidate your level."
"Mm." Linley nodded, then suddenly remembered something. "Oh, right, Brother Haoyue, the Magic Crystal Cores of those two magical beasts..."
He was talking about the Magic Crystal Cores of the Purple-Striped Black Bear and the Spined Iron-Armored Dragon. They were priceless treasures; it would be a terrible waste to leave them here.
"I almost forgot until you mentioned it." Haoyue slapped his forehead. "Come on, let's go deal with those two corpses. You can have their Magic Crystal Cores. As for this Tyrannosaurus's Magic Crystal Core, I'll take it myself."
"Of course!" Linley said without hesitation. "You killed this Tyrannosaurus, Brother Haoyue, so naturally its Magic Crystal Core is yours. Besides... you've already helped me so much."
The two quickly returned to the cave and removed the Magic Crystal Cores from the Purple-Striped Black Bear and the Spined Iron-Armored Dragon.
The Saint-level Purple-Striped Black Bear's Magic Crystal Core was purple and the size of a fist, radiating terrifying energy fluctuations. The Spined Iron-Armored Dragon's Magic Crystal Core was dark brown. Though a little smaller, it was still worth a great deal.
"Keep these two Magic Crystal Cores." Haoyue handed them to Linley.
"Th-this is too valuable, isn't it?" Linley hesitated.
"Why are you still being polite with me?" Haoyue shoved the Magic Crystal Cores into Linley's hands. "The Tyrannosaurus's core is enough for me. These two are more useful to you."
Linley looked at the two Magic Crystal Cores in his hands, deeply moved.
"Thank you, Brother Haoyue."
"How many times have I told you? Don't be so polite with me." Haoyue smiled and shook his head, then looked up at the cavern ceiling. "Oh, right, what's up there? I think I sensed a very strange energy fluctuation just now."
Linley paused and looked up as well.
A huge black circular platform was visible at the top of the cavern, embedded in the ceiling.
It was a huge and complex magic formation. Its patterns were incomparably intricate, and it gave off a faint, ancient, and terrifying aura. A purple... sword? was stuck in the center of the formation.
Wait!
Haoyue's pupils abruptly contracted.
That sword... was the Purple Blood God Sword?!
The divine artifact of the Purple Blood Fiend from the Infernal Realm.
Haoyue thought back carefully.
It seemed... it really was!
In the original story, Linley had stumbled upon an ancient magic formation in Mist Valley and obtained the Purple Blood God Sword.
What happens if it's pulled out again? Forget it. Who cares? A treasure is right in front of me, so there's no reason not to take it.
Besides... A thought occurred to Haoyue.
My arrival in this world is the greatest variable in itself. Many things are already different from the original story. Since I've come across the Purple Blood God Sword, it's my opportunity.
Besides, I have the Hextech System and the Tiger-Striped Warrior form. I'm much stronger than Linley is now. This sword can unleash greater power in my hands.
As for Linley... he'll have other opportunities in the future. Isn't the Sovereign Artifact, the Coiling Dragon Ring, already in his possession? There's even a Saint-level Mage inside to mentor him, and the Black Jade Heavy Sword suits Linley better anyway.
With that thought, Haoyue made his decision.
"Brother Haoyue, what's wrong?" Linley noticed that something was off about Haoyue's expression and asked curiously.
"Nothing." Haoyue came back to his senses, smiled, and pointed at the sword in the ceiling. "That sword doesn't look ordinary. I'll go up and take a look."
"Huh?" Linley paused. "Brother Haoyue, that magic formation looks dangerous. Be careful."
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Haoyue said with a smile.
He could sense that although the magic formation was terrifying, its core power seemed to be concentrated in the sword. As long as he didn't forcibly destroy the formation and merely pulled out the sword, there probably wouldn't be much trouble.
"Wait here. I'll go up and take a look," Haoyue said, and with a flicker of his figure, he leaped toward the ceiling.
Within a few breaths, Haoyue reached the ceiling.
Seen up close, the Purple Blood longsword looked even more ancient and mysterious. Its blade was covered in profound patterns, with a faint bloody light flowing through them. The huge magic formation was even more complex; a single glance was enough to make one dizzy.
"So this is... the Purple Blood God Sword?" Haoyue murmured, a flicker of excitement in his eyes.
He could clearly sense an utterly terrifying aura of slaughter within the sword. It was a sharp will that seemed capable of cutting down anything.
"What a sword!" Haoyue couldn't help exclaiming.
He circulated the Tiger-Stripe Battle-qi within him and entered a partially tiger-transformed state, then bit his fingertip and dripped blood onto the sword to claim it as his own. Since it had no master, he succeeded easily.
Then Haoyue leaped up, grabbed the hilt, and pulled the sword out with ease.
"What a sword!" Haoyue couldn't help praising it again.
On the ground, Linley watched the Purple Blood longsword in Haoyue's hand. A trace of envy flashed in his eyes, but he was happier for Haoyue than anything.
"Brother Haoyue, you're amazing!" Linley shouted excitedly. "That sword looks so powerful!"
Haoyue jumped down from the ceiling and landed in front of Linley. Smiling, he said, "I don't know what else might happen now that I've pulled it out. Let's hurry."
"Mm!" Linley nodded firmly.
As Haoyue landed, he wrapped the flexible sword around his waist as a belt and activated his Tiger-Striped Warrior form. Linley cast Wind Element magic to speed up Haoyue and himself, then activated his Dragonblood Warrior form. The two quickly left the place.
