Ch. 41Work's Done, Time to Go Home

Yu Zhi and Zhang Qiling cleared the seventeenth level of hell and prepared to leave, while Zhang Qishan celebrated his recovery with the Nine Gates. Yu Zhi noticed a golden thread in a Nine-Headed Serpent Cypress vine and chose to hurry home rather than explore further.

  • Yu Zhi and Zhang Qiling continued clearing hell, collecting merit and planning to finish quickly so they could leave and watch Zhang Qishan’s transformation.
  • Zhang Qishan hosted a banquet celebrating his recovery and thanked the families who had helped him, while remembering Qi Yu at a memorial service.
  • Madam Wu went into labor during the banquet, and Wu Yiqiong rushed her to the hospital as the guests followed.
  • Yu Zhi and Zhang Qiling swept through the seventeenth level and found a tiny golden thread inside a Nine-Headed Serpent Cypress vine.
  • Yu Zhi slapped himself for considering the next level, then urged Zhang Qiling to take him home.

Ch. 42Plots and Open Schemes!

Yu Zhi agreed to the False Queen Mother of the West’s plan to reincarnate as Wu Xie, but resisted as she drew out his soul, triggering the Heavenly Dao’s attack. Zhang Qiling carried Yu Zhi’s body out through the Bronze Door, while Yu Zhi was born as Wu Xie.

  • Zhang Qiling realized a fake had replaced him, and Yu Zhi destroyed the imitation with the Azure Nether Creation Art.
  • The False Queen Mother of the West appeared, captured Zhang Qiling, and demanded that Yu Zhi reincarnate as Wu Xie to help her escape and seize control of the world.
  • Yu Zhi pretended to accept the plan, and the False Queen Mother of the West drew his soul from his body and sent it into a womb.
  • The Heavenly Dao’s golden merit injured the False Queen Mother of the West, who cut off her arm before sending Yu Zhi’s soul away and declaring that he had reincarnated as Wu Xie.
  • After the False Queen Mother of the West vanished, Zhang Qiling found Yu Zhi dead, resolved to protect him in his new life, and carried his body out through the Bronze Door.
  • Mrs. Wu gave birth to a healthy boy, and Wu Yiqiong named him Wu Xie.

Ch. 43Lost and Found

Zhang Qiling carried Yu Zhi’s apparently lifeless body out of the tomb, believing his lover had died and losing most of his memories. Yu Zhi revealed that his soul was hiding in Zhang Qiling’s sea of consciousness, and they agreed to keep this secret from Hei Xiazi while they investigated the Queen Mother of the West’s plans.

  • Zhang Qiling left the tomb carrying Yu Zhi’s body, and Hei Xiazi followed after discovering that Zhang Qiling had lost his memories and believed Yu Zhi was dead.
  • Zhang Qiling knelt in the snow, where Yu Zhi called to him from inside his sea of consciousness and explained that he was alive but had been injured.
  • Yu Zhi showed Zhang Qiling his memories, revealing that Qi Yu’s soul had reincarnated as Wu Xie and had been drawn into Zhang Qiling’s body during the events in the tomb.
  • Zhang Qiling recovered his memories and learned that Yu Zhi had hidden himself in his sea of consciousness to avoid detection by the Queen Mother of the West.
  • Yu Zhi told Zhang Qiling to conceal his survival from Hei Xiazi and help turn the Queen Mother of the West’s scheme against her, and Zhang Qiling agreed.

Ch. 44Hei Xiazi: You Two Are So High and Mighty, So Amazing, You're Both My Living Ancestors!

Yu Zhi and Zhang Qiling preserved Yu Zhi’s body in the Jade Cocoon and returned home while planning how to investigate the Wu Family. Zhang Qiling remained shaken and refused to leave Yu Zhi’s side, until Hei Xiazi persuaded him to come out and eat.

  • Yu Zhi told Zhang Qiling to place his body in the Jade Cocoon, and Zhang Qiling cleaned it and preserved it after learning that their spaces had merged with the Qilin Ring.
  • Zhang Qiling and Yu Zhi planned to have Hei Xiazi gather information about the Wu Family while Zhang Qiling pretended to have lost his memory.
  • Yu Zhi explained that his soul was weakened and asked Zhang Qiling to absorb spiritual energy to nourish him and the Jade Cocoon.
  • Zhang Qiling carried Yu Zhi home and stayed in his room with the Jade Cocoon until the following day, while Hei Xiazi waited outside.
  • Hei Xiazi brought food and entered the unlocked room, then persuaded Zhang Qiling to come out by reminding him that he needed strength to carry Yu Zhi.

Ch. 45The Wind Was Rising

Yu Zhi remained unable to return to his body while Zhang Qiling protected him and hid the truth from Hei Xiazi. Meanwhile, Zhang Qishan’s condition worsened after the Longevity Pill proved fake, and the Nine Gates and an unknown figure began searching for Zhang Qiling.

  • Zhang Qiling told Hei Xiazi that he had lost his memory and that Yu Zhi was asleep, while Hei Xiazi left to investigate the Nine Gates’ recent expedition.
  • Yu Zhi discovered that the System Space had gained spiritual energy and now had two masters, but he still could not return to his body.
  • Wu Sansheng told Zhang Qishan and Zhang Rishan that the Longevity Pill came from the Cloud Top Heavenly Palace and that Zhang Qiling and Yu Zhi had been there too.
  • Zhang Qishan refused to keep working with 'it' and ordered Zhang Rishan to prepare an iron coffin to seal him before he fully mutated.
  • Wu Sansheng asked Xie Lianhuan to help find Zhang Qiling and Yu Zhi, while an unknown person separately ordered someone to track Zhang Qiling without alerting him.

Ch. 46Unspoken Understanding

Hei Xiazi returned with news that Zhang Qishan was showing strange changes after taking the Longevity Pill and that Wu Xie had been born prematurely. Zhang Qiling and Yu Zhi kept their true situation secret while recruiting Hei Xiazi to help investigate the people following them.

  • Hei Xiazi found Zhang Qiling and the Jade Cocoon at the courtyard and reported Zhang Qishan’s long hair, nails, and strange fragrance, which Yu Zhi linked to the Longevity Pill.
  • Hei Xiazi said Wu Xie had been born prematurely in August, and Yu Zhi connected the timing to Qi Yu’s reincarnation.
  • Zhang Qiling shouted that Yu Zhi was only asleep, then staged a quarrel with Hei Xiazi to mislead the people watching the courtyard.
  • After a tail approached Hei Xiazi, he returned at night and Zhang Qiling brought him into the space with Yu Zhi and the Jade Cocoon.
  • Zhang Qiling claimed the False Queen Mother of the West had taken Yu Zhi’s soul and that he had reincarnated as Wu Xie, but Hei Xiazi saw through the story and guessed they were drawing out an unknown enemy.
  • Hei Xiazi agreed to help investigate the person who approached him and promised to report back after sounding him out.

Ch. 47The Weather's Turned Cold. It's Time for Zhang Qishan to Die!

Zhang Rishan brought the transforming Zhang Qishan to Zhang Qiling and begged him to save Fo Ye, but Zhang Qiling refused and burned half of Zhang Qishan’s transformed body. After Zhang Rishan fled with him, Zhang Qiling and Yu Zhi discussed their bond, while Hei Xiazi warned that the Nine Gates and Wang Family were seeking information about them.

  • Zhang Rishan tried to slow Zhang Qishan’s transformation by forcing him to drink his own Qilin Blood as they raced toward Beijing.
  • Zhang Rishan arrived at Zhang Qiling’s courtyard carrying Zhang Qishan and offered his wealth, power, and life in exchange for a cure.
  • Zhang Qiling showed Zhang Rishan the dead Yu Zhi in a Jade Burial Suit and said he could save Zhang Qishan but would not allow another person like himself to remain.
  • Zhang Qishan completed his transformation into a Forbidden Woman and pierced Zhang Rishan’s shoulder, so Zhang Qiling set him ablaze and ordered the group to leave with the half that remained.
  • Yu Zhi told Zhang Qiling he resented the suffering Zhang Qiling had endured, and Zhang Qiling reassured him that their life together would be better.
  • Hei Xiazi reported that the Nine Gates and Wang Family were gathering information about Zhang Qiling and searching for Yu Zhi, then left the courtyard.

Ch. 48Making It Official

Yu Zhi agreed to make his relationship with Zhang Qiling official after learning that Zhang Qiling feared he would disappear without a trace. He granted Zhang Qiling access to the system so they could find each other, and they planned to marry now and hold a grand ceremony later when Yu Zhi returned to his body.

  • Zhang Qiling insisted on marrying Yu Zhi immediately, while Yu Zhi worried that marrying his immobile body would invite ridicule.
  • Zhang Qiling confessed that he feared Yu Zhi might vanish and that no one would know they had been lovers.
  • Yu Zhi promised to stay with Zhang Qiling and explained their soul-imprint contract, then granted Zhang Qiling companion access to the system.
  • Zhang Qiling saw the system link their souls and asked Yu Zhi to marry him without consummating the marriage with his body.
  • Yu Zhi agreed to make it official now and hold a grand ceremony after he returned to his own body.

Ch. 49Hei Xiazi: Xiao Yu, where on earth are you!

Zhang Qiling told Hei Xiazi he intended to marry Yu Zhi’s body, alarming Hei Xiazi, who rushed over and demanded he stop. Zhang Qiling insisted on the wedding, and they began planning a ceremony for three days later while Yu Zhi watched from within Zhang Qiling’s sea of consciousness.

  • Zhang Qiling sent Hei Xiazi a message saying he would marry Yu Zhi and asked him to arrange the ceremony and notify their acquaintances.
  • Hei Xiazi rushed to Zhang Qiling’s home, misunderstood his intentions, and punched him while demanding he leave Yu Zhi’s body alone.
  • Zhang Qiling insisted that Hei Xiazi arrange the wedding, promising not to touch Yu Zhi’s body, and set the date for three days later.
  • Hei Xiazi reluctantly agreed to handle the arrangements, then left after warning Zhang Qiling again not to harm Yu Zhi’s body.
  • Yu Zhi laughed at Hei Xiazi’s reaction and discussed the ceremony with Zhang Qiling, who planned a Western-style wedding with Hei Xiazi officiating and Yu Zhi dressed in a jade burial suit with his face covered.

Ch. 50I Am Willing

Hei Xiazi delivered wedding invitations, and Zhang Qiling married Yu Zhi, whose consciousness answered from within a jade figurine. The Nine Gates and Wang Family watched Zhang Qiling’s strange devotion, while Wu Sansheng began forming a plan and the Wang Family patriarch ordered continued surveillance.

  • Hei Xiazi delivered invitations to the surviving older members of the Nine Gates and warned Zhang Rishan not to anger Zhang Qiling.
  • The Nine Gates gathered at Zhang Qiling’s courtyard for the wedding, hoping to assess him as their losses against the Wang Family mounted.
  • Zhang Qiling carried Yu Zhi’s body beneath a flower arch, and both grooms declared they were willing to marry each other.
  • Hei Xiazi sent the guests away after the ceremony, and Wu Sansheng began shaping a risky plan.
  • A Wang Family spy reported the wedding to the Wang Family patriarch, who ordered him to watch Zhang Qiling and cautiously approach Hei Xiazi.
  • The Wang Family patriarch ordered his people to keep guiding Wu Sansheng and wondered why Zhang Qiling’s actions differed from what a sacrifice had revealed.
