Charge X Redeployment X Indiscriminate Attack
The wind blades struck its thick, grayish-white hide, producing a crisp, metallic clang, and leaving shallow, white scratches, the deepest of which was no more than half an inch deep, without even drawing blood.
The Max Elephant, wincing in pain, turned and glared at the Wind Blade Flag Bearer. Its crimson eyes blazed with murderous intent, and it swung its trunk violently.
The Wind Blade Flag Bearer was terrified and turned into a gust of wind to dodge to the side. The elephant trunk grazed the spot where he had been standing and crashed into the ground, creating a half-meter-deep crater in the gravel, with cracks spreading three or four meters in all directions.
Conjuration flag bearer materialized the barrier, and a two-meter-high, earthen-yellow giant wall was erected in the path of the Max Elephant elephants.
The Max Elephant lowered its head, and its tusks pressed directly against it.
Click--!
The earthen wall split in the middle, and pieces flew to both sides. The Max Elephant's speed only paused slightly before it rushed out of the broken wall and continued its charge.
The Conjuration flag bearer scrambled to hide behind a pile of scrap metal, his face deathly pale.
"This thing is impossible to damage!"
The flag bearer in the Manipulation suffered the most.
He originally intended to Max Elephant's limbs with his spiritual threads, but the threads were snapped off by the brute force the moment they touched the elephant's legs. The recoil sent him staggering back three steps, his hand split open, and blood dripped from between his fingers.
"Its strength is too great; my thread simply can't get tangled in it!"
The three flag bearers were Max Elephant and defeated by the elephants in a single encounter; they couldn't even delay them, let alone stop them.
Nubia's eyes twitched as he watched.
But he was, after all, a Nen user who had retired from the Elders' Guard and had extensive combat experience; he judged the situation at a glance.
This elephant's strength and defense far surpass those of ordinary Nen Beast; a head-on confrontation is the worst strategy.
The only solution is to eliminate the Imperial Envoy.
He abruptly turned to look at Jiang Ye, golden flames gathering on his legs, preparing to bypass Max Elephant and launch a direct attack.
But as soon as he took a step, Max Elephant turned around.
Its crimson eyes were fixed on Nubia, its trunk raised high.
Jiang Ye could see clearly that Max Elephant's attack priority was determined by distance and the degree of threat. Nubia's golden aura was too strong, and in Max Elephant's perception, it was the most threatening target in the entire arena.
Nubia felt a chill run down his spine from the stare, his entire body enveloped in golden flames, and he crossed his fists in front of his chest to block.
The Max Elephant forward.
Boom!
The elephant trunk struck Nubia's crossed arms, causing the golden protective aura to vibrate violently. Nubia was sent flying backward, her feet carving two deep furrows in the ground before she could barely regain her footing.
He glanced down at his arm; a noticeable dent had been left in his protective aura, and a dull, bone-cracking pain shot through his forearm.
If that blow had landed, his arm would have been broken.
Nubia's face turned ashen.
He finally understood.
This elephant was completely beyond Jiang Ye's control.
It's an indiscriminate attack.
The twelve-year-old boy stood at the edge of the battlefield, his hands forming hand shadows, sweat beading on his forehead, yet a cold smile still lingered on his lips.
Jiang Ye was, of course, smiling.
The stronger the Max Elephant, the happier he was.
Although he can't control the Max Elephant right now, the Max Elephant have scattered the enemy, giving him time to rearrange his forces.
Looking at the Iron Wall from behind the fortifications was incredibly exciting.
He didn't know what the Ten Shadows Technique were, nor did he know what a Exorcism Ritual was.
He only saw his leader shout out, and a giant elephant the size of a small mountain emerged from the shadows, knocking Nubia and his three flag bearers to the ground.
"The alliance leader is too awesome!"
Shattered Eye crouched to the side, his light-colored pupils filled with shock.
"What exactly is that thing? I've never seen it before."
Bago grinned, clenching his fists with a wild, untamed intensity.
"Who cares what it is, it's on our side anyway!"
Iron Wall didn't respond, but he noticed a detail.
Jiang Ye didn't let the elephant continue chasing Nubia; instead, he began to slowly retreat.
Iron Wall's heart sank.
Is the alliance leader backing down?
Upon closer inspection, he noticed that Jiang Ye's hands were trembling slightly, and his forehead was covered in even more cold sweat than before.
He understood.
I'm out of breath.
Jiang Ye's internal energy has already been depleted by more than 70%. Maintaining the energy of the two Shikigami, Nue and Toad, plus forcibly summoning the untamed Max Elephant, and drawing energy from all three sources simultaneously, has left his recently strengthened body almost completely depleted.
Summoning Max Elephant Shikigami. Shikigami that has not been subdued through ritual requires the sorcerer to forcibly suppress its rebellious will with qi. For every additional breath, the qi consumption doubles.
Jiang Ye estimated that in another half minute, his breath would be completely exhausted.
Therefore, he needs to make sure the Max Elephant achieves enough results before he runs out of energy, and then stop.
But just then, Max Elephant's crimson eyes turned towards them.
It has its sights set on Jiang Ye.
The mage who is closest, whose threat level has decreased, and whose energy is about to run out, becomes the easiest target to kill according to the judgment logic of the Max Elephant.
The Max Elephant raised its front hooves, straightened its trunk, and aimed at Jiang Ye.
Jiang Ye's expression changed.
He forgot about that.
The Max Elephant couldn't distinguish friend from foe. It attacked Nubia first because Nubia was a greater threat, but now that Nubia has been knocked away, it's turning around to attack itself.
Jiang Ye's right hand had already entered the Shadow Space, his fingertips touching the safety pin of the last grenade.
High in the sky, the Ye, which was being restrained by the armored guards, suddenly let out a sharp cry and swooped down with purple lightning wrapped around its wings.
The Toad also launched its long tongue from the side, curling it towards the Max Elephant's hind legs.
The two Shikigami received Jiang Ye's urgent order and returned to provide assistance simultaneously.
But Max Elephant didn't take those two moves seriously at all.
The elephant pulled its trunk away from the Toad's long tongue, twisted its body, and charged forward despite the ye's lightning strike, its front hooves continuing to stomp down towards Jiang Ye.
At this critical moment, a figure in a long black trench coat silently descended from the top of the scrap metal frame, one hand in his pocket, the other holding an inconspicuous coin between his fingertips.
Chrollo Lucilfer stood atop the pile of scrap metal between the Max Elephant and Jiang Ye, his grey-black eyes calmly watching the charging giant elephant, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Interesting."
He snapped his fingers.
The coin shot out as a beam of silver light, striking the elephant precisely on the tip of its Max Elephant.
The force wasn't great, but the angle was tricky. The elephant, in Max Elephant, deviating half a meter from its charging trajectory. It grazed past Jiang Ye's side, and the gust of wind it generated made Jiang Ye's clothes flutter loudly.
Jiang Ye's pupils contracted sharply.
Chrollo glanced at him sideways, his tone indifferent.
"Your breath is almost gone."
"How do you plan to handle this elephant?"
