Domain Expansion X All Shikigami Unleashed X Grey Elder's Death
Yixi's voice still lingers in the wind.
The darkness on the screen suddenly surged, like a pot of thick ink being stirred.
Jiang Ye stood in the center of the screen, his hands still in his coat pockets, looking at the trapped gang members outside, the corners of his mouth slowly widening into a wide grin.
He took a deep breath, and the shadow beneath his feet rose and fell with his breath, like the expanding chest of a living creature.
"Domain Expansion."
When the four words were spoken, the sound was not loud, but every word on the screen was as clear as if it had hit a metal plate.
The shadow beneath their feet suddenly sank, and the ground sank half an inch.
Then, from the center of the sunken circle, a black screen surged up like a fountain.
It wasn't the kind of sprawling, spreading screen that we saw before.
It was a thick, almost solid shadow rising from the ground, closing in from all sides like an inverted bowl.
The shadows beneath the pursuers' feet turned into a swamp.
Someone tried to run away, but their ankle was grabbed by the shadows, and with a tug, they fell into the black mud.
"What is this?! I can't pull it out!"
"Back up! Back up!"
It's too late.
The screen has closed.
A perfectly round, shadowy dome, over a hundred meters in diameter, was placed over the junkyard, enveloping Jiang Ye, the pursuers, and the gang members who hadn't had time to evacuate.
The shadows on the inner walls of the dome seemed to writhe like living creatures, while the outer walls were as smooth as a black mirror.
From the outside, all you can see is complete darkness.
Looking from the inside --
The pursuers saw the last thing they ever wanted to see.
Jiang Ye's shadow split into five clusters, each growing upwards like five black pillars rising from the ground.
The first shadow split open.
A massive silhouette, black and white, emerged from within, nearly two meters tall at the shoulder, with protruding fangs and four claws planted firmly on the ground, dark shadows seeping out from between its claws like water.
Divine Dog: Totality.
The second shadow swelled up, like an overturned pot flipping over from the ground.
Its thick, grayish-brown hide, broad, flat snout, Rito Mirror- like patterns on its belly gleamed faintly in the shadows.
Toad.
The third cluster of shadows exploded.
Thousands upon thousands of black rabbits poured out, like a pot of ink spilled on the ground, covering half the space inside the screen.
Rabbit Escape.
The fourth shadow rose higher, and a reddish-brown afterimage shot into the sky from within, with a bone-white mask, crackling purple lightning, and wide wings that created ripples on the inner wall of the dome.
Nue.
The fifth group's shadow was the slowest, and also the heaviest.
The ground sank a full foot, and a gray-white elephant's body rose from the shadows, standing four meters tall at the shoulder. Its tusks were curved, and the moment its crimson eyes opened, the entire screen trembled.
Max Elephant.
Five Shikigami stood around Jiang Ye at the same time.
Jiang Ye stood in the middle, took his hands out of his pockets, and patted the dust off his cuffs.
"The Grey Elder."
His voice traveled through the screen and out into the world.
"You asked Yixi why my qi is rising."
"Because I'm angry with you."
Outside the screen, Grey Elder's fingers clenched tightly on the car window armrest.
He could hear the sounds coming from inside, but he couldn't see what was happening inside.
All he saw was that black shell getting thicker.
Yixi stood atop the concrete pillar, his sunglasses off, his narrow eyes fixed on the Omokage, sweat beading on his forehead for the first time.
Elder.
His voice was tense.
"My breath... is being sucked in."
The Grey Elder frowned.
"What did you say?"
"That crust is eating my air, and it's expanding outwards."
Yixi took half a step back. The area his aura had spread out was being swallowed up little by little by the screen, like a piece of cloth being torn into water and could not be pulled back.
There's something inside...
Before the words were even finished, a crack suddenly appeared on the outer wall of the screen.
A black and white figure darted out from inside, so fast that it was almost just a blur.
The Divine Dog: Totality bit the calf of the nearest gunman, then flung him more than ten meters away, where he crashed into a pile of scrap metal, leaving a human-shaped dent in the metal.
Then came the second and third rounds.
The Rabbit Escape's clones surged out from the cracks in the screen, like a black tide flooding the entire junkyard.
Before the pursuers could reorganize their formation, the shadows beneath their feet moved again.
Shadow Spike emerged from the ground, one after another, piercing through the soles of boots and embedding themselves in the feet, their screams echoing across the junkyard.
Yixi gritted his teeth, jumped down from the cement pillar, and condensed his anger in his palm.
He had to make his move.
If we don't act soon, the thing inside the shell will devour all of Grey Elder's people.
He compressed his breath into his palm and pushed it towards the screen.
The air mass collided with the outer wall of the screen, exploding into a ripple.
The screen wasn't broken.
But a crack appeared.
Before Yixi could even see what was inside, a grayish-white shadow was flung out from the crack.
The Toad's long tongue.
The tongue wrapped around Yixi's waist, and with a sudden pull, he was dragged into the shadow screen.
"Elder!"
Yixi only managed to utter two words.
The tear in the screen closed.
Grey Elder's pupils contracted slightly.
He raised his hand and tapped on the car window. "Drive. Go back."
The engine of the bulletproof car roared to life.
But the wheels didn't turn.
The driver glanced down and turned pale.
"Elder... there's something under the wheel, under the wheel."
The Grey Elder looked down.
The tires were stuck to the car's four wheels like glue, causing the wheels to spin freely while the car remained motionless.
On the screen, Jiang Ye looked up at the bulletproof car.
"Trying to run away?"
He tilted his head slightly.
Max Elephant took a step forward.
The four-meter-tall elephant's body crashed into the inner wall of the projection screen, causing the entire dome to tremble before rippling outwards like water.
The inner wall of the screen bulged outwards, completely enclosing the bulletproof car outside.
As Grey Elder sat in the car, the light outside the window suddenly went completely dark.
Then he saw Jiang Ye.
Jiang Ye stood in the center of the screen, surrounded by five Shikigami, with shadows beneath his feet.
"Elder Grey Elder."
Jiang Ye took a step forward.
"I told you back at the villa, if that Worm of yours keeps burrowing under my workshop, I'll cut it into pieces, dry it, and send it back to you."
"I didn't catch Worm, but you delivered yourself to my doorstep."
Grey Elder pushed open the car door.
He was, after all, an elder, and still possessed the foundation of Nen user; he wouldn't be so afraid to even get out of the car.
He stood beside the car, his fiery eyes fixed on Jiang Ye, his face still bearing the composure of someone in power, but his knuckles were white as he gripped the car door.
"If you kill me, will the Council of Elders let you go?"
Jiang Ye tilted his head.
Do you think I'd stay in Meteor City after I killed you?
Grey Elder's brow twitched slightly.
"You..."
"You brought two thousand men to crush me, I'll let you crush me."
Jiang Ye's voice was flat.
"But if you can't crush me, then you will die."
He raised his right hand.
Interlock your fingers, backs of your hands facing outwards, and interlock your thumbs.
The Max Elephant took a step forward, its trunk wrapping around the roof of the bulletproof car and lifting it upwards.
The entire roof of the car was ripped off, and the sound of metal tearing was ear-piercing.
The Grey Elder took two steps back, his aura spreading out across his body and condensing into a ball.
His Nen Ability is to compress his aura into high-temperature charcoal fire, which can burn through his opponent's armor and body in close combat.
But when the Max Elephant's trunk came crashing down on the roof of the cart, he didn't even have time to burn it.
The elephant trunk slammed into the ground in front of him, sending rubble flying. The shockwave threw him three meters away, and his back slammed into a concrete pillar.
Jiang Ye didn't give him a chance to stand up.
The Shadow Spike emerged from the shadows beneath Grey Elder's feet, piercing his calf and pinning him to the ground.
The Grey Elder hair let out a muffled groan, and his anger dissipated.
Jiang Ye walked up to him and looked down at the old man who had been sitting in the District 13 for more than ten years.
"You just asked Yixi why my qi is rising."
He crouched down, level with Grey Elder's eyes.
"You guess."
