"Wenhuang, I know you're here!"

The man in blue robes leaped through the air and landed, his gaze sweeping toward the carriage where Wu Chao and Zhang Xuezhou were.

He had a prominent brow, bright, piercing eyes, and a robust build. He was nothing like the usual Incantation Technique practitioner, with a delicate, frail body and a gloomy cast to his features.

Zhang Xuezhou had to say, this man was very likely the most handsome man in Yedie River Holy Land. It would be hard to find another man in the Holy Land who surpassed him in looks and bearing.

Thinking of the man's possible identity, Zhang Xuezhou did not dare say much.

The man clearly had no eyes for him or Wu Chao. In the minute between landing and looking toward the carriage, he had not so much as glanced at either of them, much less questioned them.

His gaze remained fixed on the carriage, as if Venerable Wenhuang were hiding inside it.

Zhang Xuezhou and Wu Chao walked out of the carriage in dismay, taking care to draw back the curtain.

But that did not draw the man's gaze away from the carriage compartment.

He scanned the relatively small amount of luggage inside, then looked at the dried meat Zhang Xuezhou and Wu Chao had been chewing on and sniffed the air.

A trace of suspicion appeared on his face.

Venerable Wenhuang was indeed nowhere to be seen inside the carriage, but his instincts told him she was aboard it.

"What on earth happened to you?"

"Did that petty man Hongku place a powerful Incantation on you?"

"If the Dao Lord hadn't decreed that new Venerables have three years to recuperate, I'd charge straight to the Ostentatious Palace and confront Hongku head-on right now!"

"Say something!"

The man
