The Bodhisattvas' Sutras

The scriptures concerning Bodhisattvas such as Contemplator of Freedom are based on those recorded on palm leaves.

Palm leaves are produced by a tree in Magadha that is six or seven zhang tall. Simply dry the palm leaves, knead them, and glue several palm leaves together to form a medium for recording text.

The text recorded on palm-leaf manuscripts is not as clear as that on bamboo slips, but it is easier to store, and when rolled up, it is much lighter than bamboo slips.

Zhang Xuezhou once wrote a vernacular novel on bamboo slips, and the entire 100,000-word novel used more than 2,000 jin (1,000 kg) of bamboo slips.

However, the four hundred volumes of the Nirvana Sutra Contemplator of Freedom Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva weigh only a little over two hundred catties, and the storage space is extremely small.

Although the scriptures of the Bodhisattvas were not as convenient as those transmitted by the Jade Transmission, Zhang Xuezhou was still amazed by this method of recording.

If the method of making palm leaves were more refined, it would be an excellent medium for information dissemination.

"... Just as the Lion King knows his own strength, the sharpness of his teeth and claws, his four legs firmly planted on the ground, dwelling in a cave, shaking his tail and roaring. If someone possesses all these characteristics, know that he can roar like a lion..."

The content of Sanskrit is similar to that of various schools of thought, expressing many meanings in a relatively concise manner.

However, Zhang Xuezhou always felt that the content of Sanskrit was relatively more accessible.

As he listened to Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva use the Nirvana Sutra as an example to explain Sanskrit, and talk about the power of a lion's roar, he felt that this method was very similar to the power of the thunderous roar Changkong Luo.

The lion's roar is taken from the roar of the lion king of the Demon Race race, and it is also an imitation of this.

This section of the Nirvana Sutra does not involve the spiritual methods Zhang Xuezhou needed, but rather the fighting techniques of the Western Sect monks.

Zhang Xuezhou indeed found it difficult to Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva, and he had no need to switch schools of thought to learn an attack Technique Method. When he was learning Sanskrit with the other Bodhisattvas, he never even made an attempt to do so.

This attitude towards learning clearly reassured the Bodhisattvas, who then taught him with extra diligence, waiting only for Zhang Xuezhou to complete his studies and collect their payment.

"... Just as a great fire gathers, its fierce flames erupt simultaneously, each unaware of the others; so too are all phenomena. Similarly, just as a strong wind rises, fanning everything it encounters, each unaware of the others; so too are all phenomena..."

To emphasize the accuracy of his explanation, a ring of crimson flames appeared behind Samantabhadra, as if he were carrying a flaming magical Law Artifact.

This intense flame will not affect Samantabhadra's normal spellcasting; on the contrary, it will protect his back and allow him to burn his opponents by turning to the side.

Compared to the emphasis on spiritual suppression and intimidation by figures like Zhang Xuezhou and Ren Yisheng, Western Sect utilize spiritual guidance to transform their influence into a different form of expression.

Samantabhadra's flames and Manjushri's great light penetrate weaknesses, Contemplator of Freedom's vitality heals. The different scriptures people practice lead to different spiritual powers.

"Awesome!"

Zhang Xuezhou had long known that the Western Sect had taken a different approach to spiritual power and had a unique advantage, but he had never thought that he could guide spiritual power to produce characteristics similar to Technique Method.

This is almost equivalent to having an extra ability to assist in combat, and the cost is quite low.

After the explanation of one volume of scripture was completed, Zhang Xuezhou did not hold back his admiration.

"By demonstrating techniques and combining them with the Sanskrit scriptures I teach, you should find it easier to understand the Sanskrit scriptures and to fully comprehend the true meaning of these Sanskrit texts," Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva said with a smile.

"Speaking of which, I'm curious about the Holy Son's performance at the Centennial Pact Gathering," Samantabhadra asked curiously. "Are you sure you can outperform our Western Sect disciples and obtain the Heart Sutra from the Master?"

"I'm curious how Rulai and Shi Gong lost," Manjushri said. "One of them is fast asleep and won't wake up, while the other is howling day and night. They both seem to have suffered inhuman torture. Did you, Holy Son, do this?"

"I didn't, it's none of my business, I didn't see the Rulai or the Buddha Son Shigong at the grand gathering!"

During the break, the Human Sect discussed various issues, including matters concerning himself, which Zhang Xuezhou denied three times in a row.

He listened thoughtfully to the Heart Sutra mentioned by Samantabhadra.

Samantabhadra is clearly trying to curry favor; be wary of inadequate teaching leading to low rewards.

If the two sides interact like this, they will develop a deep friendship.

After denying any involvement with Buddhist disciples, he inquired about the Heart Sutra and learned that the Great Master Jieyin possessed the Great Heart Sutra, while the Second Master Zhunti possessed the Small Heart Sutra.

The two religious leaders shared similar practices and research, but their approaches to knowledge differed, resulting in varying outcomes for their followers.

The Contemplator of Freedom and others have studied two versions of the Heart Sutra, which allows them to manifest the eighteen-armed form brought about by high-level Dharma Heavenly Arts, and also to display the halo behind them, each possessing Technique Method abilities.

For Rulai, the reason why the Buddha used martial arts in his practice and also possessed the Great Sun True Fire was because of this.

"The cult leader's method is truly unconventional!"

For Zhang Xuezhou, who has achieved success in spiritual practice, comparing his Evasion Technique and the Nine Revolutions Qi Uniting Technique with the Heart Sutra, the latter's effects are not particularly noteworthy.

Even the spiritual flames of Samantabhadra and others could hardly harm him, but not everyone in the world cultivates like Zhang Xuezhou.

If Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva and others were placed in the Southern Jambudvipa Continent, these Bodhisattvas would be very powerful. Their additional abilities would greatly enhance their overall strength, allowing them to far surpass most people in cultivator battles.

It's not unreasonable for the Western Sect to contend with the powerful forces of the Heavenly Court and the Immortal Court; rather, the Western Sect genuinely possesses such capabilities.

Xuan Nu scoffed at the Western Sect's mental cultivation, calling it Evil Dao. Zhang Xuezhou felt that the Western Sect was far superior to Gene Sequence.

If the Sequence Holder were to reveal their combat forms to Xuan Nu, Zhang Xuezhou estimated that his evaluation would be even lower.

With this comparison in mind, his praise seemed genuine.

This greatly pleased Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva and the others, and they became increasingly intimate with Zhang Xuezhou. Each of them chose a scripture they practiced to explain, and also demonstrated their Technique Method, thus deepening Zhang Xuezhou's understanding of the Sanskrit scriptures.

"Clang!"

A bell rang out, and Zhang Xuezhou, who was studying Sanskrit in the thatched hut of Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva and others, felt a jolt in his heart.

The time wasn't long, but it wasn't short either; he spent more than two days in that thatched hut.

Zhang Xuezhou has less than a day left to return to the real world.

Time was extremely unkind to him. If the grand event of the centennial covenant were to take place during this period, Zhang Xuezhou felt that he would likely only be able to make a friendly appearance, and then he would have to wait and see how Cai Ma performed.

He stood up and looked outside the thatched hut. He saw a large crowd outside the Spirit Mountain Hall. Many Tibetan monks had appeared out of nowhere and were standing in groups outside, chanting scriptures. They looked just like the dead souls chanting incessantly in the Extraterrestrial Heavenly Demon base.

"This is our blessing ceremony at Spirit Mountain, Holy Son. Your grand gathering is blessed by thousands of monks chanting sutras. It seems the competition is about to begin!"

Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva was pleased and uttered a sound.

Zhang Xuezhou's agreed-upon deadline was after the grand event, and the Bodhisattvas waited for the time to pass before receiving their elixir rewards.

Judging from the harmonious relationship between the two parties at present, Contemplator of Freedom Bodhisattva believes that the reward will be good.
