Everyone Trembled with Fear
In the secret realm of the Xieluosi River happened—a mutual restraint that Zou Bugui trembling with fear.
This feeling of having one's life controlled by others is extremely inappropriate.
If anyone can stir up conflict among the three Sacred Land lords, it's like a bomb in your hand; it's just a matter of who can pop it faster.
The Venerable One's Yin-Yang Eyes were taken by Daojun and Nine Spirits Yuansheng respectively.
The flying knife that Daojun had refined with his blood and sweat was locked away in a jade box by the Venerable One, who also took the Qiankun bag of the Nine Spirits Primordial Saint.
The Dao Lord took the Nine-Turn Demon Core of the Nine Spirits Primordial Saint. In addition to the Yin-Yang Eye, he also took the Dao Lord's Book of Incantations.
A balance was eventually reached among the three parties.
If the Venerable One no longer wishes to live, his destruction of Dao Jun's flying knife would be enough to severely damage Dao Jun, ultimately causing him to slowly die in pain.
If the Nine Spirits Lion Saint no longer wanted to live, he could knock out one of the Venerable's eyes, leaving the Venerable half-crippled and unable to use the demonic Divine Ability of the Yin-Yang Eyes as before.
The same applies to Daojun. Daojun has control over half of the Venerable One's demonic Divine Ability, as well as the Nine Spirits Primordial Saint's demonic Divine Ability. If he wanted to die, he could cripple two more Holy Sacred Land Lords with a single blow.
"This method is good, but I'm a little scared right now," Nine Spirits Lion said cautiously.
"We'll only play this once, not again," Daojun said expressionlessly.
The Venerable One has a need to activate the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains Formation, while Daojun and Nine Spirits Primordial Saint are indeed eyeing the Venerable One's Yang Soul Dharma Body.
This temptation is enough to make them take the plunge.
If they win well, they'll have another trump card to play, and they can also wander around and join in the fun.
If we don't play well, then we'll all be finished together; the three Sacred Land of the Northern Kuru Continent will be directly removed from the list.
A good outcome is good for everyone, while a bad outcome is one that no one wants to accept.
Therefore, this exchange was more about restraint than a life-or-death struggle.
However, having one's own skills and abilities put into the hands of others can bring a certain degree of unease and anxiety.
"Don't worry, everyone. After we move the formation, these treasures will all go back to their original places and be returned to their original locations," the Venerable One said.
"The formation can be moved, but you must finish passing on your technique first," the Daoist Master said solemnly. "If you dare to mix in your own ideas, we will..."
"Bang... Bang!"
Before Daojun could finish speaking, Nine Spirits Lion could only utter two onomatopoeic words to indicate that the consequences of the Venerable One's petty tricks would be severe.
"I definitely don't want to go blind," the Venerable One muttered. "You can't scare me like that!"
"I thought you weren't afraid at all," Daojun said in surprise, "I didn't expect you to be like us!"
"Ha ha ha ha!"
His Excellency gave an awkward laugh.
The Yin-Yang Eyes only have a 10% chance of malfunctioning in the hands of Daojun and Nine Spirits Yuansheng, but without adjusting the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains Formation, Li Guang was able to sneak into the Xieluosi River Holy Land again, and the Venerable felt there was a 90% chance of malfunctioning.
There's no such thing as a thousand days of thievery, no such thing as a thousand days of guarding against thieves; even the Emperor couldn't guard against Li Guang.
Even Daojun frankly admitted that if he fought Li Guang to the death, they would perish together. The Venerable One felt that if Li Guang ambushed him, he would only be killed by an arrow, and there was no way he could fight back.
It makes no sense that Zhang Xuezhou was being followed; the other party's cultivation level was too low, and he couldn't possibly defend himself against being watched by a master of Li Guang's caliber.
Not to mention Zhang Xuezhou, even demon kings like Feiyu, Lu Baibai, and Kong Ning couldn't prevent Li Guang from spying on them.
The one who truly led Li Guang into the Sacred Land was Ling Yu, or perhaps the Tiger Strength Demon King who fled back to the Sacred Land after being severely injured. This had little to do with Zhang Xuezhou.
It seems like the Venerable One is cleaning up the mess, but since the problem originated within his own ranks, he has no choice but to deal with it as well.
If he were to punish Lingyu, the little demon bird would still be clueless and have no idea what had happened, so he would have to give Feiyu some leeway.
If they were to punish Tiger Strength Demon King, that guy had already been beaten to near death by Li Guang, and even the Venerable One couldn't bring himself to do it.
As for Zhang Xuezhou, he's currently atoning for his sins, and Zou Bugui is also helping him, so His Majesty can't ask for anything more.
Although His Majesty's magnanimity is not as high as that of the Heavenly Emperor, as the lord of a Sacred Land, he is not one to arbitrarily take his anger out on others.
The matter was settled, and apart from a slight sense of unease, he was quite satisfied with the current situation.
"Go take care of Huli..."
"Wait a minute, I heard from Hongku that you learned the Acupoint-Fixing Technique of the Fuxi Physiognomy School in order to escape from the tomb of the Eternal Mountain and River Formation?"
Just as His Majesty was about to ask Zhang Xuezhou to take care of Tiger Strength Demon King, Daojun stretched out his hand and then pointed at Zhang Xuezhou with great interest.
"That's true. He also said he went to your place to look at some classic texts on physiognomy!"
Zhang Xuezhou gave the Venerable One a wicked idea. After these people finally managed to maintain a balance and restraint with each other, and he was finally able to go out, Zhang Xuezhou was called back by the Daoist Lord.
This left him with no choice but to agree.
Hongku went to seek help from Daojun; his secret could not be kept hidden.
After glancing at Daojun, Zhang Xuezhou looked at Nine Spirits Yuansheng, and then turned his gaze to the Venerable One.
He didn't even need to use his brain to know that this group of people gathering together couldn't be anything good.
If things have come to the point where they have to coerce each other, then what these people are doing must be extremely dangerous. Therefore, he should avoid them as much as possible and go as far away as possible.
He wanted to run away as soon as he heard the emperor's order, but he was still a little too slow.
"The Acupoint-Fixing Technique seems to have some use," Nine Spirits Lion said with interest.
"It is indeed useful, but isn't it a bit unreliable to expect someone with his level of cultivation to pinpoint acupoints?" the Venerable One said. "Whether he is willing to explain the Acupoint-Fixing Technique is one thing, whether you are willing to learn it is another, and whether you can actually learn it and put it to use is even more uncertain!"
"Hongku is with me, so it shouldn't be a problem for him to talk to me, but learning from him..."
The Venerable One posed a question that even Daojun found difficult to answer.
The doctrines of physiognomy have their mysteries, but at their level, they obviously wouldn't learn a doctrine that only provides temporary relief but requires a great deal of effort.
"That Hongku seems to be the newly appointed Venerable on your side. Since he has the inheritance of the Fuxi Physiognomy School, he must Acupoint-Fixing Technique location. Why don't you just summon him?" said the Nine Spirits Primordial Saint.
"Hongku is a bit problematic," Daojun replied. "He possesses all three Fuxi Physiognomy School lineage, but he only learned the Star-Fixing Technique, and has absolutely no connection to the Acupoint-Fixing Technique and Person-Fixing Technique."
"It's a bit problematic not to learn from the inheritance you have," Nine Spirits Lion agreed.
"Moreover, he has some health issues; forcibly casting a spell for sixty breaths will inevitably cause him to vomit," Daojun said.
"Wouldn't that render it useless?"
Nine Spirits Lion was stunned, and even the Venerable One was somewhat surprised, feeling that the weakest Venerable One in history might have appeared under the Dao Lord's tutelage.
"So for now, I can only rely on him," Daojun said, pointing to Zhang Xuezhou. "Even if I don't expect him to take the lead, he does have some knowledge of acupoint interception techniques!"
"Something is better than nothing," His Majesty agreed.
"Isn't this all the work of that madman Emperor Qin? Fighting and killing is one thing, but why did he have to wipe out all the fortune tellers in the Southern Jambudvipa Continent?" Nine Spirits Lion complained. "This kind of work used to be done by fortune tellers and formation masters, and we were just responsible for supervising. Now we have to do it ourselves!"
"He's caused so much trouble, he's completely insane," the Venerable One said unhappily. "Even we tough guys are afraid of madmen, we have no idea what he'll do next!"
"Sacrifice the head of the school!"
Daojun was equally displeased.
If any fortune teller still possessed some useful skills, why would he bother picking up a lone seedling here?
The Xiang Sect now has only three bean sprouts left: Hongku, who was vomiting while fighting and had only practiced the Star-Fixing Technique; Wu Chao, who was expelled from the sect; and Wu Jin, who was also expelled from the sect.
None of these people satisfied him.
But he had to choose one of the three options.
