Opening the Secret Realm's Cavern
The mutual restraint between the Venerable One, the Dao Lord, and the Nine Spirits Primordial Saint has caused the three masters of the Sacred Land to feel insecure.
But when Zhang Xuezhou was stopped by Daojun, his heart began to pound.
The fact that the three lords of the Sacred Land could engage in such an exchange clearly indicates a situation where they distrust each other but still need to work together.
He has several heads to do the work that even the lords of the Sacred Land don't want to do.
The only thing that gave Zhang Xuezhou a sliver of peace of mind was that the lords of the various Sacred Land had exchanged their natal demonic treasures and Law Treasure, which would certainly prevent any vicious fighting.
"My lords," Zhang Xuezhou said nervously, "My skills are very poor, and I'm afraid I'm not up to the task. Besides, I still have to go and rescue the Tiger Strength Demon King!"
"It doesn't matter if you're not very capable; I'll help as much as I can," Daojun comforted him.
"It's no big deal if your skills are a little lacking," Nine Spirits Lion nodded.
"Really?" Zhang Xuezhou asked in surprise.
"The worst that can happen is death!"
Nine Spirits Lion shook his head and explained the consequences of being incompetent, which made Zhang Xuezhou look miserable.
"You don't need to worry that we'll harm you," His Excellency comforted him. "We've just not done this kind of thing for a long time and are a bit rusty, and we're short-handed with help, so we sent you to see if you could lend a hand. If it's a dead end and you can't be of any use, we won't force you to go."
"Thank you, Your Excellency!"
His Excellency's words seem reasonable at first glance, but a closer look reveals the consequences.
His Majesty mentioned that if the situation is a dead end and Zhang Xuezhou is incompetent, he shouldn't be involved. However, if the situation is only nine-tenths dangerous and Zhang Xuezhou can contribute even one-tenth of the effort, His Majesty will definitely push him forward.
As long as it's useful, even if it's a dead end, he'll most likely have to do it.
"Your Majesty, I am of the Yin-Yang School and possess some skills in formations. If Your Majesty finds them useful, please do not hesitate to command me!"
Zou Bugui frowned, then stepped forward to volunteer.
His mind didn't react as quickly as Zhang Xuezhou's, but he still noticed the clues.
If it were beneficial, Zhang Xuezhou would have jumped at the chance long ago; there would be no way he would have politely declined.
If it were Zhang Xuezhou's turn to refuse, it would be because the risk was too high.
Of course, the lords of the Sacred Land, including the Venerable Ones, haven't mentioned any rewards yet, so the corresponding effort is indeed not worth the loss.
"You could go along and take a look," the Venerable One pondered. "After all, I'd like you to live a few more years!"
"Well?"
Zou Bugui harbored a death wish to protect Zhang Xuezhou, but after hearing the Venerable One's words, things didn't seem to be all bad.
"Work hard," Daojun nodded and said, "Moving the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains is risky, but the benefits it brings are quite good for you!"
"This kid has just broken through to a higher realm. If we can give him a push, his cultivation should be able to stabilize," Nine Spirits Awakening nodded. "This old lad's body can also be nourished; living another ten years or so shouldn't be a problem!"
"If it weren't for the danger, and the need to face the geomagnetic light of the secret place during its operation, I would have liked to hang there to nourish my physical body," the Venerable said regretfully.
"What's the point of hanging it?" Daojun shook his head and said, "What's the point of living a long time in a place like that?"
"I'd like to ask you, Zhu Jiuyin, what exactly are you trying to achieve by going to such lengths to rearrange the formation?" Nine Spirits Yuansheng asked. "Now that we've agreed, and we each have leverage over each other, can you at least tell us something?"
"It's nothing really," the Venerable One sighed. "It's just that Li Guang crossed the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains and came all the way to my doorstep, and even drew his bow and shot an arrow at me."
"Li Guang came, and he even shot you?"
"Perhaps he wasn't confident, so he didn't use the Heaven-Shaking Arrow; that arrow only hit the entrance to the secret realm," the Venerable One said. "But I'm genuinely a little scared!"
His Majesty values face but doesn't mind losing face; after all, in the face of death, face is not an important thing.
His response surprised Nine Spirits Lion, followed by Daoist Lord's low curse.
Clearly, His Majesty was unsure whether Li Guang had left, so he had them clear out any potential mines outside for him.
As the three Sacred Land at the pinnacle of the Demon Race in the Northern Kuru Continent, they are seen as a single interest group by outsiders.
If Li Guang hadn't only possessed one Heaven-Shaking Arrow, Daojun felt it was inevitable that he would be caught in the crossfire.
No matter who he clashes with, Daojun has a 99% chance of dragging his opponent down with him. However, Daojun is not afraid of the ruthless, but he fears the stubborn and the mindless. If Li Guang is confused and wants to die with him, Daojun can only curse and swear.
"Stop them! Stop them!" Daojun said with a headache, "Quickly cut the great formation!"
"I hate the Human Emperor's Heaven-Shaking Arrow!" Nine Spirits Lion complained. "Several people have handled the Heaven-Shaking Arrow before, why didn't they destroy this scourge!"
"If you were skilled in archery and relied on the Heaven-Shaking Arrow as your trump card, could you destroy it?" the Venerable One retorted. "Or you could go and persuade Nezha of the Immortal Court to destroy the Heaven-Shaking Arrow!"
"I'm not going!" Nine Spirits Lion shook its lion head repeatedly. "That guy is heartless and doesn't even bother to think before he acts. If I say a few more words, he might just shoot an arrow at me!"
"You excel in close combat, have a robust physique, and have survived eight or nine heavenly tribulations. You should be able to hold out, right?"
"Anyway, I don't want to try. Even if I survive the Ninety-Nine Heavenly Tribulations, I have no intention of becoming a target!"
Nine Spirits Lion shook his head repeatedly, urging Daoist and Venerable to hurry up and finish their work so that they could both feel at ease.
"Very well, it's better to play it safe," Daojun nodded. "The madman Emperor Qin is gone, but Li Guang is also somewhat of a madman with obsessive thoughts. Avoiding the limelight isn't a bad thing!"
"Who would have thought that these Hundred Thousand Great Mountains were originally meant to protect our Demon Race from invasions from the Southern Jambudvipa Continent?" Nine Spirits Lion shook his head and said, "Now they've become a natural barrier that allows us to move freely in and out of the mountains!"
"It's just that their internal strife was so fierce that it led to our relative prosperity over the past century!"
His Excellency shook his head.
Times have changed. Those who once crawled to survive have finally stood up and gained the power to take the initiative, and even possess overwhelming military power after eliminating certain individuals.
Even the most powerful figure couldn't help but lament the horrors of civil war and strife.
Even the largest structure cannot withstand such consumption.
To take a recent example, Zou Yan and Zou Shi, the founders of the Yin-Yang School, were so Zou Bugui that even the Emperor had to detour around them.
Such school leaders sprang up like mushrooms after rain in the Southern Jambudvipa Continent, with over a hundred emerging in just a century.
This is almost equivalent to the combat power of hundreds of top-tier Sacred Land lords in the Southern Jambudvipa Continent.
In comparison, the demons of the Northern Kuru Continent undoubtedly live in a precarious existence.
The good thing is that these people were all incredibly powerful and refused to submit to each other, and they lacked the means to achieve immortality. In the end, some fought to the death, while the older ones died of old age.
The era of brilliant minds has passed, and with it comes the decline.
The overall strength of the Southern Jambudvipa Continent has declined with each generation, and even the emperors are not considered outstanding. Only Li Guang can be regarded by the Venerable Ones.
"So, which school of Sacred Land did Li Guang belong to?"
His Majesty pondered for a moment, unable to suppress his thoughts, and couldn't help but ask another question.
"Let's explore the secret dungeon together!"
Daojun did not answer, but instead walked towards the pillar of flames where the Venerable One's physical body was located.
