The stretch ended with Ren Yisheng alive but able to exert normal strength only briefly, and his Soul Jade destroyed.

In the other world, Zhang searched for Rong Tianding and became caught up in Shen Peigong’s plot and the Grand Empress Dowager’s curse, which Daoist Randeng tried to remove at Yang Mausoleum.

• Changkong Yinghao and Changkong Yinglian organized an investigation of Luo Hui’s laboratory, while Wang Yi'an agreed to support them after reconsidering Luo Hui’s ambitions.
• Luo Hui fled after subduing Ren Wuyang, and Ren Yisheng revealed that his Mental Power had transformed into a removable seed that might let him restrain powerful Sequence Holders.
• Zhang Xuezhou arranged for Zhou Yueyan to secretly collect Luo Zhong’s head, then learned that the Zhou Household planned to bring Zhou Xin into the Twilight Years Mansion.

Zhang Xuezhou escaped the Yang Mausoleum crisis, gained the new emperor’s favor, and returned to reality, where he helped Tuer Kalanduo defeat a challenge to her leadership. Kalanduo secured the shrine’s allegiance and began stripping power from Tuer Feilasi’s Lineage, while Huang continued watching Zhang Xuezhou for the Divinity within him.

• Daoist Randeng pursued Zhang Xuezhou’s Yang Corporeal Soul from the Yang Mausoleum into a tunnel, where an icy, poisonous stench injured him as the tunnel threatened to collapse.
• Zhang Xuezhou returned to his body and went to Chang’an with Rong Tianding and Yi Shuo, then received Marquis of Sui’s Pearl from Kong Zhong and suspected the King of Huainan planned to exploit Emperor Jing’s corpse.
