Was This Possible with Human Strength? The Stunned FBI
A bay in Eagle Sauce Country.
More than a dozen police speedboats were racing across the sea, heading straight for a cruise ship not far away.
Before long, the police speedboats forced the cruise ship to stop. Dozens of officers rushed aboard and began searching it.
When the officers reached the ship's lounge during their search, they were stunned by the scene before them.
Quite a few began vomiting uncontrollably, and some of the female officers even screamed.
As police officers in Eagle Sauce Country, they had seen plenty of corpses.
But the sight before them still filled them with horror.
Corpses lay all over the lounge, and half of them were missing their heads.
Blood had spread like a layer of red paint, staining the entire lounge floor.
A man in a leather jacket stepped out from among the officers.
He glanced at the gruesome scene in the lounge and ordered with a frown:
"Send for the forensic examiners. Also, check the identities of these people."
He was an FBI investigator who had been dispatched by a federal congressman.
The congressman had told him that a gang shootout was taking place aboard the cruise ship and that several arms dealers were also on board.
He had been told to bring them in.
The investigator had thought the operation would be easy.
After all, it was only a gang shootout. But the scene before him told him that something major had definitely happened here.
Soon, two forensic examiners arrived and began examining the bodies at the scene.
Before long, a female forensic examiner jogged over to the investigator after examining several bodies.
Her expression was somewhat unnatural, as though she had seen something unbelievable.
"What did you find?" the investigator asked.
The female forensic examiner said in horror:
"Most of these people suffered fatal wounds when someone cut off their heads with a blade. And their heads are all a long way from their bodies."
"There are only two possibilities. One is that someone deliberately threw their heads a long way after cutting them off."
"The other is that their attacker swung the weapon with such tremendous force that, the moment their heads were severed, inertia sent them flying off their necks."
The examiner's words made the investigator frown even more deeply, while the officers around them were dumbstruck.
The force was so great that their heads had been chopped flying? What kind of Arabian Nights autopsy result was that?
"Are you joking with me?" the investigator asked skeptically, wondering whether the examiner before him was any good at her job.
There were bullet holes all over the room. No matter how he looked at it, both sides had exchanged gunfire.
Yet the female examiner said that most of them had died from having their heads cut off with a blade. It was simply absurd.
"My profession would not allow me to joke with you at a time like this. There are no other wounds on those people's bodies. Their fatal wounds were caused by a blade."
The female forensic examiner spoke very seriously, clearly displeased that the investigator doubted her.
The investigator said in a teasing tone:
"Ma'am, then according to you, these dozen or so people had guns, but some guy killed them all with a knife? And even sent their heads flying!"
The female forensic examiner's face turned bright red, and for a moment she could not refute him.
The condition of the bodies in the room was indeed too strange.
An officer came over to report:
"Sir, according to the identity checks, the people whose heads were cut off were all from Blackwater Company."
Hearing the name Blackwater Company, the investigator's expression changed slightly.
As a member of the FBI, he knew Blackwater Company very well.
Most of Blackwater Company's soldiers were former special forces, and they were stronger than ordinary career soldiers.
Why would Blackwater Company personnel turn up at a gang shootout, and why were they all dead?
This made the investigator feel that something major must have happened here.
At that moment, a shout suddenly rang out in the lounge.
"Oh, my God! How is this possible? God, is this real?!"
Everyone looked toward a table in the lounge.
A headless corpse was slumped over it.
A forensic examiner stood beside the corpse, holding some unidentified red fragments.
It was this examiner who had shouted.
His hands were trembling, as though he had discovered something utterly terrifying.
The investigator immediately went over and asked, "What happened?"
The examiner turned around, a horrified expression on his face, and held the blood-covered fragments out to the investigator.
"God! This is a human skull. How could it end up like this?"
Everyone drew a sharp breath at the examiner's words.
If he had not told them it was a human skull, they would not have recognized what it was.
A human skull had actually been reduced to tiny fragments. How had it been done?
The investigator glanced at the fragments in the examiner's hand, then walked over to the table and examined it carefully.
He found that many of the tiny skull fragments were stuck to the table.
The examiner continued in a trembling voice:
"This wasn't done with a meat grinder. His head was smashed against this table, shattering his skull."
No matter how composed the investigator was, he was stunned by the examiner's words.
"That can't be possible, can it? Could the attacker have used an anti-materiel sniper rifle?"
Some powerful heavy weapons could blow a person's head apart.
"No, only an impact could have produced a wound like this. His head must have hit this wooden table like a watermelon. The most terrifying thing is... the table he hit isn't damaged at all. It's nothing short of a miracle!"
The examiner's explanation made the atmosphere in the room freeze.
No one spoke. A sense of dread rose in their hearts.
They could still have treated the female examiner's earlier findings as a joke.
But now another examiner had concluded that the skull had been smashed to pieces.
Surely both forensic examiners could not be incompetent.
Everyone felt that what the female examiner had said earlier was probably true as well.
But how was that possible?
What kind of person could use a melee weapon against more than a dozen Blackwater Company mercenaries?
And what kind of force could smash a human skull to pieces against a wooden table?
None of these questions could be explained.
"I-I'll report this. Keep the scene secured, and don't disturb the bodies." Cold sweat was already running down the investigator's face.
His gut told him that this was something that could not have happened.
But the scene before him and the findings of the two forensic examiners could not possibly be false.
This was no longer something he could handle. He could only report it.
Painting Scroll World.
As the sky began to brighten, Chen Feng finished a night of cultivation.
The light of the Spirit Aperture in his body was just as it had been after his last cultivation session, without any change.
Ever since reaching the Second Layer of Qi Refining, his cultivation had been moving at a turtle's pace.
Now he could only wait and see whether Lin Wei could come up with a solution.
If even Lin Wei had no way, he could only take the risk of leaving the Xingfeng Sect to cultivate elsewhere.
Putting the matter out of his mind, Chen Feng walked out of the secret chamber.
He had not gone far from the secret chamber when he saw a crowd gathered in an open space nearby. There were several hundred people.
Chen Feng had already guessed that these people were probably the miners Liu Qian had just recruited.
Chen Feng saw expressions of joy on the faces of these Painting Scroll World mortals.
Most of the mortals had brought their families along, and there were even children only a few years old standing in the crowd, carried on their mothers' backs.
For mortals in the Painting Scroll World, having a job that paid enough to put food on the table and clothes on their backs was enough to make them happy.
The wages Chen Feng offered were fairly decent: three copper coins a day.
Other martial artist factions that used mortal miners paid them almost nothing, providing only food.
Capitalist exploitation no longer applied to the Painting Scroll World. Here, it was outright slavery.
