The Hydra base was built in a small grove, its bright lights very conspicuous in the darkness to Black Widow. Alex and the others identified the direction and cautiously made their way over.
Seeing the fully armed Hydra soldiers at the gate, Bucky was worried. "What do we do? Just charge in?" Bucky turned to Alex. "Or, can you take us inside?"
"I can only take you where I've seen." Everywhere he looked, there were Hydra soldiers. There was no way for Alex to bring them in.
As they were pondering a solution, the roar of an engine came. Steve turned his head and saw three military trucks driving along the forest road toward them. Seeing the trucks, Alex couldn't help but chuckle. "Look, free rides!"
As he spoke, Alex, as nimble as a cat, flipped onto the last truck from the rear. Steve and Bucky exchanged a glance and followed closely behind, their movements equally swift.
Just as the two of them jumped into the truck bed, they heard Alex let out a soft shout, followed by a series of punches and kicks. Then, they saw two unconscious Hydra soldiers lying in the truck bed.
Alex easily dealt with the two soldiers and turned to see Steve and Bucky jumping in as well. He quickly beckoned, "Help me throw them out!"
Without any inspection, the three of them successfully infiltrated the camp in the truck.
Lifting the tarp at the rear of the truck, Alex carefully surveyed the surroundings.
The camp was huge. Buildings like factory workshops were scattered around the perimeter. In the center of the camp, rows of tanks were parked. They looked a bit different from ordinary tanks, larger than usual, but with much smaller cannons. Hydra soldiers in Black Widow-colored uniforms patrolled back and forth, and searchlights swept across the camp from time to time, the security was tight.
When the truck stopped, Alex and the others quickly slipped out under the cover of darkness and jumped into a brightly lit "factory" nearby.
Walking into the factory, all three were stunned by the sight before them. Huge bombs, over three meters tall, stood in the factory. As far as the eye could see, there were at least a thousand of them!
Bucky looked dumbfounded, reaching out to touch the giant bomb next to him, and said in disbelief, "What does Schmidt want to do? Blow up the Earth?"
"Schmidt's ambition is even greater than Little Mustache's," Alex, knowing the movie's plot, snorted and said mockingly, "He wants to rule the world!"
Steve reached out and picked up a small object emitting a blue light from a nearby table, asking in surprise, "What is this thing?" There were many such objects around, some large and some small, but without exception, there was a strange blue light on their bodies.
Alex had seen these things long ago. Hearing this, he sighed and said, "This is the Power of the Tesseract, a powerful Power from the gods."
Saying only that, Alex didn't say more. Using the giant bombs as cover, he continued to move forward, searching everywhere.
A moment later, Alex found the prison holding the prisoners. In fact, the prison was near the giant bomb factory, connected by a heavily guarded iron mesh passage. All the prisoners were locked in two-meter square iron cages, three to five people in a cage. Hydra soldiers patrolled back and forth above the iron cages.
Alex glanced at the Hydra soldiers patrolling above the iron cages and turned to Steve. "Steve, you go up there and take care of the patrols." Then he turned to the iron mesh passage in front of him, where more than a dozen Hydra soldiers were guarding. "I'll take care of these guys!"
After speaking, Alex turned to Bucky. "Bucky, you go save the people later. We don't have much Time, we have to hurry! Before we leave, grab some guns. After we get out, immediately send people to seize those tanks outside."
Reality was different from the movie after all. Taking these prisoners back from thirty kilometers behind enemy lines was not as easy as in the movie. Fortunately, there were plenty of weapons in the Hydra camp, and they were all extraordinary energy weapons. There was a good chance of successfully fighting their way back.
With the plan decided, Steve leaped up and climbed onto the railing upstairs, flipping himself over and knocking out the patrolling Hydra soldiers upstairs with lightning speed. Alex also acted like lightning, advancing like a hot knife through butter, and quickly rushed in with Bucky.
Alex reached out and took a set of keys from a Hydra soldier, tossing them to Bucky and shouting quickly, "Bucky, save the people!"
Bucky caught the keys and ran quickly to the nearest iron cage. He looked at the lock on the iron cage, then looked down at the keys in his hand, and then looked up at the prisoners in the iron cage. "Which key?"
"Who are you?" A Black Widow with an eye patch stood up, her face full of surprise.
"American Brothers!" Bucky said with some pride, then randomly found a key and inserted it. Unexpectedly, the iron door opened.
"What did you say?" The one-eyed Black Widow suspected she had misheard. American Brothers, what was that?
Bucky didn't have the mind to pay attention to the doubts of the people in the iron cage, turned and ran to another iron cage, unlocking it quickly. But this time, Bucky was not so lucky, and failed to open it after several tries.
"Let me do it!" A small white man walked out from behind Bucky, grabbed the iron cage with both hands, and shouted loudly. The iron bars on the cage were bent directly, revealing a gap large enough for one person to pass through.
Bucky was a little stunned. The iron bars on this iron cage were as thick as a thumb. It would take amazing Power to bend them.
Seeing that everyone had been rescued, Alex suddenly remembered the plot of the movie and asked, "Is everyone here?"
"There's an isolation ward in the factory. No one who's been taken there has ever come back!" The one-eyed Black Widow walked over a few steps, her expression serious.
Alex pondered slightly, turned to Steve, "Steve, you take them out, I'll go take a look at the isolation ward!" In the movie, Bucky was used by Zola for human experiments in the isolation ward. But now, Bucky was always by his side.
Steve nodded in agreement, turned to look at the crowd gathering behind him, and raised his hand, shouting, "Let's fight our way out together, and show those Hydra soldiers what we're made of!"
With several loud shouts, a group of people instantly rushed through the iron mesh passage and into the giant bomb factory.
Many good fighters were hidden among the prisoners. With them, Steve, and Bucky, the Hydra guards in the factory were no match at all and were wiped out in an instant. They also seized their weapons along the way.
Seeing the crowd that had already fought their way to the door, Alex turned and ran towards the factory's isolation ward.
At this time, the entire Hydra camp was in chaos, and the isolation ward was even more deserted.
As he was searching around, Alex suddenly heard a painful gasp in his ear. He turned his head and saw a woman lying on a surgical bed in the shadows of the corner, a woman with a head of red hair. The woman seemed to be delirious, humming unconsciously.
Turning to look around, he didn't find anyone else. Alex thought for a moment and picked up the woman, rushing towards the outside of the factory.
