Seeing Alex run out with a woman on his back, Bucky, while batting away an attacker with his gun stock, asked in surprise, "Alex, who is she?"
"Don't know, rescued her from the isolation ward," Alex shifted the woman on his back, sighing, "But this woman is quite heavy."
"She's Natasha Romanoff, a Soviet spy!" The one-eyed Black man, holding a Hydra-developed energy gun with both hands, walked over slowly, firing as he went, destroying over a dozen tanks.
"Black Widow?!" Alex turned his head to look at the woman's face behind him, his expression one of disbelief.
The one-eyed Black man destroyed the base's outer wall with another shot, chuckled, and turned to Alex, saying, "So you know her? Let me introduce myself, Nick Fury."
"Nick Fury?!" Alex was stunned again. He hadn't expected that a simple rescue mission would lead to him rescuing two future major figures, the Black Widow Natasha, and the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury.
Just as Alex didn't know what to say, a tank rumbled up, and Steve poked his head out from inside, "Hey guys, hop on! Let's break out together!"
With over a dozen tanks leading the way, the group quickly broke out of the Hydra base.
However, behind them, a large group of pursuers was still hot on their heels, and ahead of them, more Hydra forces had arrived upon hearing the news. Thirty kilometers wasn't an easy distance to cover. Although they didn't have to worry about ammunition for the energy guns and tanks, a single artillery shell could kill people and disable tanks.
Reality was not a movie. Seeing that they were about to be caught in a pincer attack, Alex made a decisive move. He would lead the charge to clear the path: "Steve, you take the rear, I'll go ahead."
"I'll go with you!" a short white man jumped out.
Alex looked at the short white man and couldn't help but recall Steve before his experiments; they were about the same height. However, the short white man before him was much sturdier, comparable to Steve now.
Thinking this, Alex extended his hand and smiled, introducing himself, "Alex, welcome aboard."
The short white man produced a cigar from somewhere, stuck it in his mouth, and said with a carefree expression, "Logan."
Logan?! Alex looked at the short white man before him with some doubt. Hearing the name reminded him of a famous figure from Marvel. However, the short white man before him was quite different from the Wolverine he remembered, especially his height.
"Let's go, what are we waiting for?" Logan, having waited for a while, impatiently turned to Alex.
Alex snapped back to reality instantly, nodded, and said in a deep voice, "Let's go, move out immediately."
With that, Alex grabbed Logan's hand, and they vanished from the tank via Teleportation. They reappeared amidst a large group of Hydra soldiers directly ahead.
As soon as Alex appeared, he ignored Logan and, like a tiger descending from a mountain, charged into the stunned Hydra soldiers. Hydra soldiers fell under his fists and feet.
Logan quickly recovered, cursed under his breath, let out a fierce roar, and three sharp bone claws emerged from the back of his hands, startling all the Hydra soldiers once again.
Alex happened to turn his head and saw the bone claws on Logan's hands, letting out a curse, "He really is Wolverine!" He paused for a moment, then added, "Well, he doesn't have Adamantium Claws yet."
Wolverine Logan's killing speed was clearly much faster than Alex's. Alex's combat relied entirely on instinct, mainly on the powerful body and Teleportation granted by the Super Soldier Serum. Logan was different; he had experienced battle and naturally learned the most lethal combat techniques. Combined with his bone claws and incredible healing factor, he was truly a one-man army.
Witnessing Logan's formidable combat prowess, Alex's heart stirred, and he began to consciously follow Logan's movements, learning his combat techniques. At the same time, Alex seized the opportunity during their close contact to copy Logan's healing factor.
With the incredible healing factor, Alex also let loose, no longer worried about any injuries, and fought with all his might. An Alex like this was terrifying, even more ferocious than Wolverine.
In just a short while, the Hydra soldiers blocking their path were scattered and defeated. A small number fled in panic into the surrounding woods, daring not to show themselves again.
After the battle, Alex and Logan returned to the tank to rest temporarily. Steve and Bucky had also repelled the pursuers behind them.
Looking at Logan, who was leisurely smoking a cigar, Alex hesitated for a moment before inviting him, "Logan, I'd like to invite you to join our commando team."
Logan removed the cigar from his mouth, exhaled a puff of smoke, and looked at Alex in surprise, "Commando team?"
"Yes, us!" Alex pointed to Steve and Bucky, introducing them one by one, "Steve, Bucky, and myself. We also have two support personnel. We mainly fight Hydra, and of course, we won't let that little mustache guy go either."
"Do you mind if I join?" The one-eyed Nick Fury suddenly leaned in, his single eye fixed on Alex, full of anticipation.
Alex turned to look at Nick Fury, nodded, and said with joy, "Of course, you're welcome. We welcome anyone who is willing to fight alongside us."
Logan looked at Alex, then at Steve, took a deep drag of his cigar, and nodded, "I don't mind. Fighting is fighting, no matter where it is!"
Having recruited two major players, the one-eyed Nick Fury and Wolverine Logan, Alex was thrilled. With them, the commando team was finally taking shape. The only thing left to consider was giving the commando team a resounding name.
"To be honest with you both, the commando team was just established not long ago, and we haven't named it yet." Alex gave a wry smile as he looked at Logan and Nick Fury, "Since we're all part of the team now, what do you think would be a good name?"
Everyone looked at each other. After a moment, Nick Fury widened his single eye, slapped his thigh, and exclaimed loudly, "Howling Commandos, what do you think?"
No one nodded in agreement, nor did anyone object. Seeing this, Alex took it as everyone's tacit approval: "Then it's the Howling Commandos. The name isn't important; what matters is what we do."
Alex's words received unanimous agreement from everyone. While everyone was in good spirits, Alex spoke again, "For the captain of the commando team, I suggest Steve. What do you all think?"
Steve was clearly taken aback. He pointed to himself, looking somewhat confused, "Alex, you've done a great job. You should remain captain!" In this rescue operation, Alex had been the one in command for almost everything, and he had done an excellent job. Steve and Bucky trusted him.
Alex shook his head, pointing to his head, and said with a wry smile, "I'm not suited for it."
Looking at Alex's gesture, Steve and Bucky were stunned. It was only then that they remembered Alex's Chinese heritage, which would severely restrict Alex's future development and even affect the growth of the commando team.
Nick Fury finally noticed Alex's black hair, shook his head, and cursed angrily, "Shit!"
