Alex was completely stunned, looking at Baron Strucker, who was as dead as he could possibly be. If even Alex, the instigator of it all, had died in the Death Spore Gas, then Bucky was surely in grave danger.
"But why are the rest of us okay?" Amidst the panic, Alex suddenly recalled Nick's words from earlier, and a flash of inspiration struck him. "Could it be because of the Super Soldier Serum?"
With this thought, Alex returned to the camp. No one was there. Alex used Teleportation again, arriving at the laboratory. As expected, everyone was there.
Bucky lay unconscious in a pool of ice water, surrounded by a group of people. Howard and the many scientists in the lab were busy working, as the lab didn't have any long-term cooling devices, and they needed to build one.
Alex glanced at everyone, pulled Howard aside, and whispered, "Howard, Steve and I are fine. Do you think it's because of the Super Soldier Serum in our bodies?"
Howard pondered for a moment, saying uncertainly, "It might be related, or it might not be. We have very little research on Death Spores; we've only heard of them."
"What a shame, all the data from that base has already been transferred," Alex sighed with regret, then returned to the original topic. "If I give Bucky a blood transfusion, can he wake up?"
"It won't have much effect," Howard looked up at Alex, shaking his head with a serious expression. "A little blood can't change Bucky's physical condition at all."
"Then give him more!" Alex immediately said without thinking, "As long as it can save Bucky!"
When Alex was at his lowest, Bucky and Steve had helped him, not discriminating against him because he was Chinese. When he was unconscious, they paid his medical bills. Alex had decided these two were his brothers for life.
Hearing the commotion, Steve and the others turned to look. Steve walked over to Alex, met his gaze, and said firmly, "If Alex's isn't enough, you can draw mine."
Logan was very direct, rolling up his sleeve to expose his wrist and saying carelessly, "Feel free to draw, as much as you need!"
"Actually, I also received the Super Soldier Serum. Although it's a mutated version, it should still have some effect!" Black Widow swayed her sexy waist as she walked over, her red hair cascading over her shoulders, looking very alluring.
Nick Fury coolly pointed to his chest, "I have the Infinity Formula in my body."
"The Infinity Formula? Professor Berthold Sternberg's Infinity Formula?" Howard exclaimed suddenly, then quickly covered his mouth, looking incredulous.
"Last year, I accidentally stepped on a landmine, and Professor Sternberg gave me the Infinity Formula," Nick Fury said, pointing to his eye patch. "Although I survived, my eye couldn't be repaired."
"The Infinity Formula? What is that?" Alex looked at Howard with surprise. After hearing that Nick Fury had the Infinity Formula, Howard became unusually excited.
"The Infinity Formula was invented by Newton in 1652 and later perfected by Professor Berthold Sternberg. The Infinity Formula is like the legendary elixir of immortality; it doesn't strengthen the body, but it can significantly extend human lifespan, maintaining youth and vitality," Natasha said before Howard could speak, her tone very serious. "However, like drugs, the Infinity Formula must be injected continuously. Once stopped, the aging process accelerates rapidly!"
Nick Fury nodded beside him, saying helplessly, "Yes, I have to inject it every year. I just had an injection not long ago."
"It can even grant immortality?" Alex was completely speechless. What kind of world was this Marvel Universe? It was even more incredible than a Xianxia world. Not to mention all sorts of inconceivable superpowers, the key was the prevalence of advanced technology. A mortal could drink a bottle of medicine and become a superman!
"It's only theoretical immortality," Howard shook his head and smiled. "But living for a hundred or two hundred years should be fine."
"Never mind that, let's focus on saving Bucky first!" Alex wasn't very interested in the Infinity Formula. There were plenty of ways to achieve immortality in Marvel, and immortality through medicine wasn't Alex's first choice. Moreover, the Infinity Formula wasn't true immortality, which made Alex even less interested.
Reminded by Alex, Howard also snapped out of his excitement about the Infinity Formula, his expression turning serious. "Are you really going to do this?" Seeing everyone nod, Howard said helplessly, "I don't know how effective this method will be. It might save Bucky, or it might have no effect at all."
"Trying is better than doing nothing!"
After half a day of blood transfusions, each of the four, including Alex, had nearly half their blood transfused to Bucky. To everyone's disappointment, Bucky showed no signs of improvement and remained unconscious.
Even with the combined blood of the four, Bucky couldn't be saved. Alex was despairing, and an endless rage burned in his chest. He was going to go on a killing spree!
Watching Alex suddenly disappear, Steve sighed and turned to Howard, asking hopefully, "Are there no other ways?"
Howard gave a wry smile and shook his head. "The only thing we can do now is freeze Bucky and wait until we find a way to break the Death Spores." He paused slightly, pointing to the makeshift freezing device created by the other scientists. "This device can only maintain the frozen state temporarily, so it's best to send Bucky back to America as soon as possible."
Carter stepped forward, patted Steve's shoulder, and said softly, "There's a ship heading back to America tonight. We can have Bucky go back with the ship."
Looking down at Bucky lying in the icy water, and considering Alex's state, Steve knew this was a difficult task to entrust to him. He nodded and said a single word: "Okay!"
That night, Bucky was sealed in an extremely cold metal box and boarded an empty ship bound for America.
As the ship sailed out of the harbor, Alex had already appeared on the streets of Berlin, searching for the Hydra base where Baron Zemo was located. Baron Strucker was dead, and Alex had shifted his target of hatred to other members of Hydra. He wouldn't let Baron Zemo or Red Skull off the hook.
Following the information Carter had provided them earlier, Alex quickly found a heavily guarded factory, which was Baron Zemo's base.
Pulling out a dagger and lightly waving it in the air, Alex instantly disappeared...
That night, blood stained the streets.
