"My name is Koguk Bloodfang, a warrior of the Bloodfang Tribe. My homeland was once called the Savage Bone Great Plains, where countless tribes like the Bloodfang Tribe lived.
The Savage Bone Great Plains were far from peaceful. Tribes followed the grasslands, and battles were commonplace. Before that war, I had thought my fate would be like that of the tribe's warriors before me—to die bravely in a tribal conflict or a battle against Savage Beasts. Then my soul would return to Ancestor's Origin, where I would feast on fine food and drink deep of good wine alongside the great warriors of history.
Until that war—the terrible war led by the largest tribe of the Savage Bone Great Plains, one that every small tribe had joined.
The great tribe leading the war was called Blood Axe. On the grass-following Savage Bone Great Plains, it was one of the few great tribes that did not need to migrate.
It had warriors like me in numbers as countless as ox hairs, and even Totem Warriors like the chieftain were beyond count. Legend had it that the Blood Axe Tribe's chieftain could stand shoulder to shoulder with the First Ancestor.
The war it led should have been a war of glory.
Until those terrifying creatures who called themselves wizards descended.
These terrifying monsters who called themselves wizards emerged from a tribe forged of steel, and every one of them was grotesquely shaped. Never mind that they lacked beautiful manes and gleaming white tusks—even their arms numbered only two.
And beyond those differences, these wizards could change shape in battle. Some transformed into men of fire, while others became monsters.
They wielded flame and thunder with greater skill than even the tribes' shamans. In war, our shamans were utterly no match for these wizards.
