Fu Danwei traveled the cultivation world in his youth with the Fu Long Sword, earning a reputation for vanquishing Devils and defending the righteous path. In a major conflict with the Heavenly Demon Hall, he slew one-third of its disciples alone while its master was occupied by Nascent Soul cultivators. 22 145

In his later years, he sealed the Fu Long Sword within the Coiled Dragon Spiritual Vein. When the infant Fu Xuanxing was being overtaken by Dragon Qi, Fu Danwei joined the sword with the Southern Bright Li Fire Sword Sheath to suppress the condition and preserve the child's life. 145 159

Panlong Island patriarch

After Fu Henghua's parents died, Fu Danwei personally raised Henghua on Panlong Island. Their closeness made Henghua both the elder's most cherished grandson and the target of schemes intended to provoke Fu Danwei into demonic possession. 27

At the beginning of the story, Fu Danwei expected to die within a decade. He attempted to secure his family's future, protect Henghua within Langhuan Pavilion, and push his reclusive grandson to gain experience beyond Panlong Island. 1 2

Nascent Soul tribulation

Fu Henghua spent considerable effort gathering the materials for medicine capable of extending Fu Danwei's life, including the Essence Accelerating Great Medicine and its difficult Zhou Hua Jade Dew base. 18

Fu Liuhui eventually refined the Two Principles Mysterious Ginseng Pill, restoring Fu Danwei's peak strength. He announced his Nascent Soul tribulation shortly afterward. 198 During the tribulation, he wielded nine winds and nine Sword Intents, formed the Nine Winds Return to Heavenly Immortal Formation, and used the Dragon King's residual power to cleave apart the Heavenly Thunder projection. 200

Numerous allies protected Yanlong's approaches during the ordeal, leaving Fu Danwei openly conscious of the debts he owed after achieving Nascent Soul. 200
