Background

Meng Chen is a transmigrator who became the only son of Azure Dragon Divine Lord Meng Zhang. Though he could have remained in the Eastern Celestial Pole and inherited his father’s position, he sought Hunyuan instead. Recognizing Xuanmen as the dominant force of the Primordial World, he persuaded Meng Zhang to send him to Kunlun Mountain to become Yuanshi Tianzun’s disciple. After passing the Hundred Tribulations Heart Questioning Formation, he chose Yuanshi as his master and became the Chan Sect’s eldest disciple. 1

Yuanshi Tianzun immediately established Meng Chen’s standing by granting him the Wu Ji Apricot Yellow Banner and the Creation Gourd. Meng Chen then cultivated at a pace that far surpassed his fellow disciples, using the River of Fate, Alternate Selves, and his Spacetime Anchor Point to establish an unusually deep foundation. 2 5 6

After leaving the Jade Void Palace, Meng Chen established the Boundless Tree Sea in Kunlun Mountain. There he discovered and refined the Undying Tree, a fragmentary Primordial Chaos Spiritual Root that produces Primordial Chaos Spiritual Energy and can grant eternal life through its fruit. 9 12
