Curtain Call

"Of course."

The Soul King seemed to have been born without much expression. His face had always been cold and indifferent.

Though it was Kinoki's face.

"The power of Kidō itself was developed from the power within me."

The Soul King was still explaining.

"The power you use is completely ineffective against me."

If he did not wish it, no one on Soul Reaper Star could harm him.

Of course, because his power had weakened too much now, he could not achieve that extent. But any Kidō or Zanpakutō whose use he knew could not harm him either.

Just then.

A shifting black sphere of light suddenly condensed before the Soul King.

The flickering sphere of light.

"Six Paths! Chibaku Tensei!"

Madara Uchiha's cold voice rang out.

All kinds of ruined buildings suddenly gathered out of thin air, instantly drowning the Soul King.

Even Aizen, who was nearby, was nearly dragged in completely.

Aizen promptly used photons to pull away, smiling as he looked at Madara Uchiha.

"It seems Mr. Madara does not intend to spare even me. We were getting along so well."

At the very least, Madara Uchiha was the same kind of person as Aizen, yet he had never concealed the strength within his heart.

Unlike that fellow Kisuke Urahara, who only ever hid himself.

Even upon seeing the filthy truth, he never tried to change anything. Instead, he stood there supporting some so-called orthodoxy.

"Hmph." Madara Uchiha snorted coldly. "Stop putting on an act, Aizen."

He knew exactly what kind of person the other man was.

That arrogance born from the depths of their bones meant they had been the same kind of people from the very beginning.

While the two of them carried on their own conversation.
