The moment the grenade attack hit, Barton pulled Coulson into his arms. The box of the Physical Enhancement Serum was in Coulson's hands, and Barton shielded Coulson and the Physical Enhancement Serum agent beneath him.

Winter Soldier No. 2 waited on the street for more than ten seconds, but did not see anyone get out of the carriage.
