Background

Liu Wenyan was born into the prominent Liu family, whose members fought extensively on the Battlefields of the Heavens. The family suffered devastating losses over successive wars, including Sun Moon and Shanhai experts, leaving Liu Wenyan among its few known survivors. 169

He became a direct disciple of Ye Batian, the Fifth Generation Academy Head, alongside fellow disciple Hong Tan. During the Fifth Generation’s era, Liu Wenyan was a renowned prodigy: while still in the Yangxing Realm, he killed a Soaring expert, and every member of the Multi Divine Script Faction below Shanhai was reportedly under his command. 27 169

The Fifth Generation’s death and the legacy he left behind changed Liu Wenyan’s life. Liu Wenyan fused his master’s Divine Script into his Sea of Will after King Daxia stated that it would shatter otherwise. Liu Wenyan is candid, witty, and often deliberately unserious in conversation. He jokes about his own shortcomings, teases Su Yu, and can become childish over minor arguments. 9 14 26

Beneath this manner is a demanding but deeply invested teacher. He favors Su Yu because he recognizes Su Yu’s resilience, foundation, gratitude, and potential to become a powerful figure for humanity; however, he makes clear that his support depends on Su Yu remaining grounded rather than becoming rebellious or conceited. 26 33

After his breakthrough, Liu Wenyan personally trained Su Yu in Civilization Master fundamentals.
