Background / History
Chaos Beasts are ancient creatures that emerged when Chaos first opened and the universe was established. Their early population and strength were limited; their numbers and power rose sharply after the appearance of the Ten Directions Mother-Child Tower, which is regarded as their parent and serves as the Chaos Beast Progenitor's Natal Dao Artifact. 4624 4860
They are natural enemies of immortals. Their tribes capture immortals as sacrifices to the Ten Directions Mother-Child Tower, seeking mutation opportunities and additional sacrificial slots. Stronger or more numerous sacrifices improve the chances of mutation. 4190 4227
Chaos Beasts are not fully united. Different forms often conflict, and they may kill and devour one another to strengthen their source power, though the Ten Directions Mother-Child Tower limits such infighting. 3935 4642
After more than twenty million years of relative disappearance, the Chaos Beast forces mobilized under Commander He following his awakening, intending to launch a Great Dao War against Dao Ancestors with Supreme Source Laws. 4937
Appearance
Chaos Beasts have highly varied forms, ranging from transparent, colorless creatures to multicolored humanoids and hybrid beasts. Many possess extremely durable bodies, scales, thorns, wings, claws, tails, or naturally grown weapons. 3892 3904 4104
- A Two-Colored specimen was described as over three hundred feet tall and thousands of feet long, with gold-and-red scales, dorsal thorns, exposed fangs, and a long tail. 3892
- A Four-Colored specimen had a rat head, bird body, and wings; another resembled a mantis with scythe-like arms. 3908
- Some high-ranking Chaos Beasts can assume humanoid forms and speak the human language. 3933 4227
- Certain Chaos Beasts resemble porcupines or hedgehogs and can launch thorns as powerful as middle-grade Immortal Artifacts. 4104 4152
Classification
| Type | Characteristics |
|---|---|
| Colorless / Transparent Chaos Beast | Common vanguard and cannon fodder in city assaults; weaker than colored varieties. 3904 3996 |
| Colored Chaos Beast | Strength rises with the number of colors; each additional color improves physical resilience and the ability to weaken attacks. 3893 |
| Mutated Chaos Beast | Rare variants that may master Laws, grow weapons, develop Chaos Armor, or gain Berserk. 3930 4257 |
| King Beast | A Chaos Beast that has undergone a fourth mutation and acquired Berserk; exceptionally rare and dangerous. 4152 4400 |
| Ten-Colored Chaos Beast | Rumored ultimate form resulting from a fifth mutation; capable of fusing Laws and often cultivated as a future Dao Ancestor. 4257 4772 4724 |
Color Ranking
A Chaos Beast's colors broadly indicate its strength. Two-Colored beasts are comparable to True Immortals who have opened two apertures, while higher-colored specimens become progressively more resistant and difficult to kill. 3892 3893
- One- to Three-Colored — dangerous to True Immortals; Three-Colored beasts generally require coordinated attacks, formations, or specialized tools. 3904 3950
- Four- to Five-Colored — formidable opponents; Five-Colored beasts can destroy low-grade Immortal Artifacts and may require multiple powerful cultivators to defeat. 3912 3999
- Six- to Seven-Colored — powerful enough that Golden Immortals and top True Spirits may struggle to damage them directly. 4177 4223
- Eight- to Nine-Colored — high-ranking tribal members; Nine-Colored beasts vastly exceed Eight-Colored ones in strength. 4362
- Ten-Colored — exceptionally rare; their ability to fuse Laws makes them a threat even to powerful Great Luo Golden Immortals. 4772
Abilities & Traits
Innate Damage Weakening
Chaos Beasts can weaken most spells, divine abilities, and attacks empowered by Laws. This ability becomes stronger as their cultivation, color count, and mutation count increase. 3892 4734
- Five Elements spells and rudimentary Five Elements Laws are comparatively ineffective. 3892 3904
- Even heavy low-grade Immortal Artifacts may fail to leave visible injuries on lower-ranked colored beasts. 3892
- Their bodies can withstand repeated World Extinction Cannon fire, Immortal Artifact strikes, and direct physical attacks. 3908 4245
- Their natural weakening ability reduces damage rather than fully negating it. 4734
Exceptional Physical Bodies
Chaos Beasts primarily fight through their powerful bodies, relying on brute strength, resilience, speed, claws, fangs, tails, and other natural weapons. 3904 3938
- A Five-Colored Chaos Beast snapped a low-grade Immortal Artifact halberd in half. 3912
- A Seven-Colored Chaos Beast's body was strong enough to injure Wang Changsheng through a tail strike and resist his Law of the Divine Soul. 4177
- Their eyes are a notable physical weak point and are frequently targeted by immortals. 4104 3912
Intelligence and Coordination
Chaos Beasts possess intelligence despite many lacking mastery of Laws. They can communicate through tribal channels, use scouting and bait tactics, coordinate attacks, collect enemy artifacts, and lure additional immortals with corpses. 3904 3930 4100
- Only Chaos Beasts capable of speech may join a Chaos Beast Legion. 4243
- Legions are divided into ragtag legions, composed mainly of ordinary colored beasts under mutated commanders, and core legions, composed of mutated Chaos Beasts. 4243
- Tribal leaders can transmit information through a unique communication method. 4100
- The Chahar Tribe used affiliated Eight-Colored Chaos Beasts to probe immortal defenses before deploying Nine-Colored forces. 4362
Mutation
Chaos Beasts commonly depend on the Ten Directions Mother-Child Tower to mutate. Their mutation path is relatively fixed compared with the numerous cultivation methods available to immortals. 4734
- First mutation — mastery of Laws. 4257
- Second mutation — growth of weapons. 4257
- Third mutation — emergence of Chaos Armor. 4257
- Fourth mutation — acquisition of Berserk, creating a King Beast. 4257 4400
- Fifth mutation — ten colors; considered the rumored ultimate form. 4257
Laws and Supreme Laws
Most Chaos Beasts do not master Laws and instead rely on their innate physical advantages. Mutated Chaos Beasts and those at or above the Great Luo Golden Immortal stage can master Laws. 3930
- A Chaos Beast with an ordinary or special Law is stronger than an ordinary colored beast of the same realm. 4209
- Mutated Chaos Beasts that master Supreme Laws are exceptionally rare and extremely dangerous. 4196 4209
- A Grand Golden Immortal-stage Chaos Beast that has mutated three times and mastered a Supreme Law may serve as a tribe's high priest. 4724
Chaos Armor
Chaos Armor is a defensive trait gained through advanced mutation. It can protect a Chaos Beast against powerful techniques, including Daoist Arts. 4256 4257
- It can resist attacks that would otherwise severely injure an unarmored Chaos Beast. 4472
- Damage to Chaos Armor may rapidly heal under the beast's multicolored light. 4890
- Chaos Armor does not make its bearer invulnerable; concentrated attacks, Dao Artifacts, and superior techniques can break it. 4819 4833
Berserk
King Beasts possess the innate Berserk ability, which temporarily and significantly enhances their strength, physical body, Law power, and weapons. 4152
- Berserk can weaken restraining forces and allow a trapped King Beast to escape. 4749
- King Beasts are generally associated with fourth mutation and are rare even among major tribes. 4568 4767
Weaknesses
- Divine soul attacks — The Divine Soul is considered the greatest weakness of Chaos Beasts; the Law of the Divine Soul is especially effective. 4362
- Special and Supreme Laws — Time, Space, Divine Soul, Dreams, Curses, lightning, ice, wind, poison, blood, and sound-based techniques can be more effective than the Five Elements Laws. 3891 3892 3908 4564
- Eyes — Their eyes are the most vulnerable physical targets. 4104
- Coordinated assaults — Stronger specimens often require formations, complete sets of soul-based Immortal Artifacts, World Extinction Cannons, or multiple cultivators working together. 3893 4253
Society and Culture
Chaos Beast society is organized into tribes, including twelve major tribes. Major tribes command smaller affiliated tribes and may be led by priests or high priests, often mutated Chaos Beasts. 3938
- The Hundred Tribes Assembly is a major event in which qualified Chaos Beasts compete for opportunities to enter the mother tower for ritual and potential fourth mutation. 4400 4767
- Chaos Beasts that participate in the Hundred Tribes Assembly have generally mutated at least three times. 4400
- Larger tribes cultivate exceptionally gifted members as successors rather than sending them recklessly into battle. 4579
- Tribes collect rare materials to exchange for sacrificial slots or request assistance from other tribes. 4727
- The Chahar Tribe used captured Grand Golden Immortals as sacrifices to increase its tribe's mutation opportunities. 4227
