Vol. 2Hanma’s Expanding Power

Hanma expanded Uchiha control through new alliances and victories while Konoha faced upheaval and Madara advanced the Moon Eye Plan. He left the story preparing to seize Kirigakure’s Six-Tails and pursue Jashin.

  • Hanma devoured Enlightenment, purified the Box of Paradise, and evolved Heaven and Earth Furnace into Gluttonous Feast of Paradise. Hanma defeated Danzo, led the Uchiha against Root, and established his sole leadership of the clan.
  • Toroi’s staged death forced Konoha to surrender Hyuga Hiko’s Byakugan to Kumogakure. The Kumogakure Shinobi Head secured his guest house and told his companions he had come to Konoha to die.
  • Hanma formed an alliance with the Aburame Clan by offering mutated Kikaichū. Hanma defeated Mugetsu, who entered a Bone Cocoon as his chakra grew stronger.
  • Hanma stopped the Land of Sky’s Floating Fortress from crashing and arranged for Orochimaru to restore it for Konoha. Jiraiya began Sage Mode training after receiving a prophecy about a demon threatening the Shinobi World.
  • Hanma defeated Mugetsu and made the surviving Kaguya Clan submit to the Uchiha. Tsunade accepted Hanma’s pendant and told Mito she would marry into the Uchiha Clan while remaining a Konoha ninja.

Arc 5The Box and Its Aftermath

Hanma escaped the Box of Paradise by devouring Enlightenment and gained a dangerous new power, then returned to Konoha and confronted Danzo over Root’s actions. As the villages prepared for conflict, Kumogakure sought an alliance with Konoha while secretly sending an envoy who expected to die.

  • Hanma devoured Enlightenment through repeated resurrections, purified the Box of Paradise, and evolved Heaven and Earth Furnace into Gluttonous Feast of Paradise.
  • Madara sent Black Zetsu to guide Nagato and used the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to strengthen Uzumaki Kana for the Moon Eye Plan.
  • Hanma returned to Konoha, met Fugaku and Uzumaki Mito, and argued against Kushina becoming the Nine-Tails’ Jinchuriki while the Nine-Tails warned Mito about his unsettling Chakra.

Arc 6Alliances and the Kaguya Challenge

Hanma used the Kumogakure crisis to strengthen the Uchiha’s position and formed an alliance with the Aburame Clan, while Jiraiya and Tsunade pursued new paths to power. He then defeated the Land of Sky’s assault, secured its fortress and Gelel Stones, and brought Minato to challenge the Kaguya Clan, whose leader began a powerful transformation after Hanma struck him down.

  • Toroi staged his death at the Hyuga banquet, and Kumogakure demanded a Hyuga as compensation, forcing Konoha into tense negotiations that ended with Hyuga Hiko spared but his Byakugan surrendered.
  • Hyuga Yuto sought Hanma’s help for his blinded younger brother, while Aburame Shishan negotiated an alliance and accepted Hanma’s offer of mutated Kikaichū in exchange for the Aburame Clan’s support.
  • Jiraiya received a prophecy about a demon threatening the Shinobi World and began intensive Sage Mode training, while Tsunade considered using Hanma’s cells to help her absorb Nature Energy.

Hanma brought the Kaguya Clan under Uchiha control while his growing influence unsettled Konoha and drew the attention of Madara and Nagato. Tsunade chose to marry into the Uchiha Clan, and Nagato founded the Vortex Organization with Hanzo as its first member.

  • Hanma defeated Kaguya Mugetsu, devastated the Kaguya Clan’s territory, and made the survivors submit to the Uchiha Clan.

Arc 8Power and Prophecy

Hanma strengthened his position while Konoha reeled from the Nine-Tails transfer, Jiraiya’s defeat, and Mount Myōboku’s intervention. He left Kirigakure poised for an attack as he prepared to take the Six-Tails and pursue Jashin.

  • Hanma postponed consuming more Tailed Beast Chakra until he improved his spiritual abilities, then discussed Sage Mode with Tsunade and demonstrated the danger of his cells.
  • Mikoto gave birth to Itachi, and Hanma assigned Fugaku to establish Uchiha roots in Kirigakure after his recovery.
