Hanma seized control of Kirigakure, helped shape the Great Shinobi War, and absorbed immense power from the Tailed Beasts and the sea’s Nature Energy. He took charge of the unified Shinobi World, but the Sage of Six Paths and other powerful figures opposed him as Toneri, Black Zetsu, and Isshiki pursued their own plans.

  • Hanma captured Saiken and gained Jashin’s power before defeating Kirigakure and beginning to remake the village under his rule.

Arc 9Kirigakure’s Fall

Hanma captured Saiken, discovered a way to strengthen his soul through Jashin, and set events in motion across the Shinobi World. After Kirigakure’s defeat, he began remaking the village under his rule with Genji’s help.

  • Hanma broke the Six-Tails’ mountain prison, defeated the beast, learned its name was Saiken, and brought it to Sage Katsuyu in Shikkotsu Forest.
  • Hanma joined Feimei’s Jashin Cult ritual, turned its blood curse against the priest, and absorbed Jashin’s power as the Entry “Soul Devouring Rakshasa.”
  • Hanma learned from Jashin that Ōtsutsuki Isshiki had destroyed Jashin’s homeworld, while Isshiki later resolved to watch Hanma and build an organization.
  • Nawaki developed the Senju Explosive Tag, while Uchiha Madara revived Izuna Uchiha and then used Rinne Tensei to give him a living body.
  • Izuna renamed the Vortex organization the Fire Organization and assigned missions as Kirigakure’s Third Mizukage attacked Orochimaru’s forces and Uchiha Shin died protecting Fugaku.
  • Fugaku awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan and wounded the Three-Tails’ soul, allowing Hanma to drain the beast, kill the Third Mizukage, and defeat Kirigakure’s forces.

Arc 10The Great Shinobi War

Hanma and Izuna maneuvered rival factions toward war as the hidden villages united against Konoha. The fighting began on several fronts, and Minato helped the Third Hokage capture Ōnoki while Konoha’s forces confronted the Jinchuriki.

  • Genji took charge of the Land of Water’s manufacturing under Hanma, while Izuna sealed the Seven-Tails, recruited Monk Hōichi, and visited Konoha disguised as Tobirama Senju.
  • Orochimaru proved that the supposed Tobirama was an impostor, while the Third Hokage and Danzo prepared Konoha for the threat and the other villages coordinated their military plans.
  • Hanma consolidated his absorbed powers, while Izuna recruited Hōichi as the One-Tail’s Jinchuriki and staged the beast’s theft to provoke Sunagakure into declaring war on Konoha.

Arc 11Hanma’s Ascendance

Hanma defeated the Fire Organization’s leaders, absorbed several Tailed Beasts, and sought greater power by mastering Nature Energy. As Minato consolidated Konoha and Kirigakure under his rule, new threats emerged and the Fire Organization formed an alliance with Kumogakure and Sunagakure against Hanma.

  • Minato killed Ōnoki and Kitsuchi as Iwagakure’s army collapsed, while Fugaku, Setsuna, and Orochimaru confronted Danzo before Izuna Uchiha and Nagato arrived to seize the Nine-Tails.
  • Hanma overwhelmed Izuna Uchiha, Nagato, and their allies, killed Izuna and Danzo, and absorbed the escaping Nine-Tails Chakra.
  • Minato’s forces defeated the Third Kazekage and Third Raikage, while Hanma absorbed the Four-Tails and Five-Tails and set out for Ryūchi Cave to learn Nature Energy cultivation.

Arc 12The Battle Against Hanma

Hanma absorbed the sea’s Nature Energy, killed Izuna, and became powerful enough to threaten the world, prompting the Sage of Six Paths and his allies to confront him. As Hanma battled Madara, Hashirama, Indra, and Asura, Toneri and Black Zetsu sought a way to contact Kaguya, while Isshiki called on Momoshiki and Urashiki for help.

  • Hanma completed his absorption of the sea’s Nature Energy, defeated Uchiha Madara, and drove Isshiki away, while Izuna sacrificed himself to save Madara.
  • The Sage of Six Paths gathered the dead heroes and explained the danger Hanma posed, then granted them power to return to the world and train.
