It was the grandest immortal banquet the All Heavens and Myriad Worlds had seen in nearly ten thousand years. Xuanmen Daoist Lords, Buddhist School Buddhas, gods of the Divine Path, Demon Race Great Sages, and many others would attend.
Immortal Deity banquets were plentiful across the chaotic cosmos, and banquets hosted by those of the Pure Yang Realm were hardly unheard of. But the All Heavens and Myriad Worlds had once been divided among thirty-six Great Thousand Worlds, each with its own loyalties and tangled conflicts. Most so-called Pure Yang banquets were little more than gatherings of two or three Pure Yang experts, perhaps joined by a group of affiliated Immortal Deities of the Upper Three Realms.
The Qingqiu Dharma Banquet at Qingqiu Sacred Land in Jurong World, for instance, was attended chiefly by celestial demons of the Upper Three Realms. Even members of the Heterodox Sect rarely went, let alone Immortals, Gods, and Buddhas.
If the Nine-Tailed Great Sage had not insisted on involving himself in Xuanmen's calamity, the Eastern Heaven Daoist Sect would not have bothered attending a banquet where a few demons played house.
The Qingqiu Dharma Banquet had been limited in scope from the start. It appeared to invite heroes from across the heavens and prodigies from every quarter, but in practice, apart from the sacred sons and daughters of Jurong World's other sacred lands, only a few Demon Race sacred lands and royal courts participated—and even they did not come every time.
Its foundations had never been strong enough. Qingqiu itself carried a certain small-minded air, and the Nine-Tailed Great Sage could not sustain a banquet grand enough to be remembered across the heavens.
