The indifferent Dao voice exploded in the Daoist's heart like a thunderclap from flat ground, making him instinctively look toward the sound.
He saw that in the Void-Reality Realm, which had originally been filled with twisted laws and corrupted monsters, a pair of eyes had appeared at some unknown point. The Daoist did not know how to describe those eyes. Their azure-gold pupils were like the eyes of a heavenly god, green lotuses slowly revolving within them like the cycle of the Great Dao. Those eyes hung high in the heavens like the sun and moon, as if they had existed since time immemorial, forever overlooking everything within the Void-Reality Realm.
With just one glance, the Daoist's scalp went numb. It was as though he had seen wind, thunder, water, and fire covering the horizon; as though he had seen a lotus of chaos that annihilated all things. That was the calamity aura that surged and roared, swallowing the heavens. That was the edge of final decline, vast and boundless, destroying myriad worlds.
Without realizing it, bloody tears flowed from the Daoist's eyes, and blood seeped from his ears, nose, and mouth. It drove the Daoist into a frenzy. "What is that?!"
"What is that?!"
That pair of azure-gold eyes simply watched the Daoist quietly as he raved and went mad, watched him tear off his own scalp, watched him pry open his own skull and reveal the thing inside his head.
Inside the Daoist's head, there was no such thing as a brain at all. There were only circles upon circles of molars, and a fragment that pulsed like a heart.
As his skull was pried open, perhaps because air had gotten in, the Daoist suddenly calmed down.
