The arhats in particular could not imagine what could have allowed this Arhat Chief Seat—one of the foremost great arhats under the heavens—to fail to catch Wujue.
After all, Demon Buddha Wujue had rashly become involved in the Xuanmen Great Calamity and had been slain outright by Daoist Lord Kaiyuan, now Kaiyuan Heavenly Venerable.
Even if he had risen from the ashes, Kaiyuan Heavenly Venerable's status remained unchanged. With the divine might of the Dao-Ruling True Yang, the slightest disturbance from Demon Buddha Wujue would inevitably draw that Heavenly Venerable's thunderous strike. Moreover, the karmic cause and effect of the Xuanmen Great Calamity and the fortune of East Heaven's great flourishing were like two mountains pressing down on Demon Buddha Wujue's head. No matter what, Demon Buddha Wujue could not return to the Dao-Wielding Realm.
Not to mention the Dao-Wielding Realm—even maintaining his Pure Yang status under the suppression of the Xuanmen Great Calamity's karmic cause and effect and East Heaven's fortune would be no easy feat. Never mind that Kaiyuan Heavenly Venerable and Jinjue Buddha were both watching his movements. Demon Buddha Wujue could only hide everywhere, leaving him no time to recover.
Lingding Arhat, however, was a great arhat of the Dao-Wielding Realm and the Arhat Chief Seat of Great Lingyin Temple.
