Endless, boundless fire!
Everywhere one looked, raging flames burned the heavens, surging into the cosmos and blotting out the sky and sun.
The flames burned the heavens and boiled the seas. Space collapsed, heaven and earth shattered, and endless fire engulfed everything within sight. Sky and ground were no longer distinguishable; all were shrouded and devoured by flame.
Mountains crumbled into rubble, rivers dried into sand, and the land cracked and collapsed. This world was withering, dying.
Amid this boundless sea of raging fire, among the shattered mountains and rivers, a figure struggled onward.
The figure was tall and slender. Though her clothes were somewhat ragged and her appearance bedraggled, neither could conceal her splendor.
She was beautiful, yet possessed a heroic air, with phoenix eyes, swordlike brows, and a cold expression. Gold and jade hairpins adorned her cloudlike coiffure, while glittering ornaments hung from her ears. She wore a goose-yellow feather robe with auspicious-cloud crane shoulders and an azure gauze sash, looking every inch a heavenly immortal.
Yet in this world that scorched all things between heaven and earth, where ordinary creatures would be reduced to ash and even space and time seemed to burn and twist, her figure appeared all too frail.
As the flames continued to sear everything, the demonic qi shielding her from the fire and scorching winds gradually thinned, leaving her increasingly exposed to this roasting world.
Anyone familiar with her face and the aura of her Geng Metal astral winds would recognize her as Jin Qiong, the Cave Profound celestial demon and Second Palace Highness of the Demon Emperor Palace on the North Region Continent of the Three Realms Great Thousand World.
Though Jin Qiong still retained some of her former pride, the countless wounds covering her silently revealed just how wretched—and perilous—her
