Background

Shishigami was transformed into a machine by alien modification. His brain became a supercomputer, enabling him to rapidly process information and take control of the Magnetic Force within his body. Though his altered body can conceal its machinery and resemble an ordinary human, the loss of his flesh-and-blood body leaves him internally unsettled. 212 214

His mechanical constitution proves unusually compatible with Magnetic Force. Unlike a biological wielder, he cannot generate bioelectricity through cells, but Magnetic Force merges with his machinery, powers his body, and allows him to increase his voltage by absorbing external electricity. 214

Bai Xing implanted Shishigami with a Magnetic Field Seed, giving him the foundation and insight of a magnetic-field powerhouse. Shishigami uses this advantage to expand his network control, intimidate the police, and pursue power with increasing confidence. 226

Appearance

Shishigami normally appears as an ordinary middle-school boy, but his body can split open to expose the machinery beneath his human exterior. Following his fusion with Brandon, liquid metal reconstructs him into a flesh-and-blood body matching his original appearance and physique. 214 229 285

  • His arms can retract or expose gun barrels and larger cannon muzzles. 212 225
  • His head can open to reveal a rotating mechanical core. 229
  • His back contains propulsion devices and missile-launch slots. 214 229
  • After Heavenly Magnetic Disassembly, only his core remains; it can create a virtual projection of him and generate liquid-metal equipment. 279 280
  • Brandon's genes give him an enhanced biological body with extraordinarily resilient skin, reinforced connective tissue and bones, and heightened senses. 285

Personality

Shishigami is profoundly indifferent toward people he does not recognize as his own. He dismisses strangers' lives with little thought, commits random family massacres to relieve his frustration, and eventually finds killing ordinary people too boring to interest him. 214 216 229

His attachment to acknowledged companions is the opposite extreme. He has known Ando Naoyuki since kindergarten, cures Watanabe Shion after she helps him, and values Yuko above all else. Threats to Yuko provoke immediate, disproportionate retaliation and ultimately drive his breakthrough into Magnetic Field Rotation after her death. 214 218 236 271

He enjoys recognition because public admiration helps him feel human despite his mechanical existence. After defeating Takita Masako, he follows online praise of his “superhero” image with visible satisfaction. 225

Shishigami is arrogant but not naturally skilled at close combat. His first battle against a Parasyte exposes his lack of experience, and repeated defeats by Kaze Daizaemon leave him wary of fighting at close range despite his superior raw voltage. 216 241 265

Abilities & Skills

Mechanical Physiology

Shishigami's alien-modified body is a weaponized machine sustained by a supercomputing core and Magnetic Force.

  • His body withstands attacks that would cut through metal and stone, though low energy weakens its defenses. 216 217
  • He can absorb electricity as fuel, increasing both voltage and physical performance. 214
  • His back-mounted thrusters enable high-speed flight and escape. 217 229
  • After developing Nanite Reorganization, he can rapidly repair damaged mechanical components and deformities. 265
  • His core survives the destruction of his body and later constructs virtual projections and liquid-metal forms. 279 280

Electromagnetic Manipulation

Shishigami manipulates electromagnetic waves, charged particles, magnetic fields, and electricity through his mechanical body.

  • He remotely infiltrates networks, cameras, speakers, microphones, police systems, and encrypted communications. 214 226
  • He can gather and accelerate charged particles into lethal ranged attacks. 214
  • He produces electromagnetic barriers capable of blocking bladed attacks and halting gunfire in midair. 225 235
  • He can release electromagnetic radiation that damages immune systems and causes severe delayed illness. 229
  • His magnetic control allows him to sense unusual magnetic-field activity and track information across connected devices. 226 238

Cyberwarfare and Surveillance

Within modern civilization, Shishigami can treat connected technology as an extension of his senses.

  • Cameras serve as his eyes, speakers as his voice, and microphones as his listening devices. 214
  • He can commandeer public displays, as shown when he takes over every television in an electronics store. 214
  • He identifies police deployments by intercepting encrypted SAT communications before they reach his home. 226
  • He obtains personal information on Chief Yamatani and his family through the police network, then uses it for coercion. 226

Weapon Systems

His mechanical body contains integrated firearms, artillery, missiles, and propulsion equipment.

  • Finger Gun — Fires concentrated electric attacks from his fingertips. 214
  • Miniature Electromagnetic Cannon — A lower-consumption upgrade to the Finger Gun, used for sustained bombardment. 224
  • Electromagnetic Cannon — A larger arm-mounted weapon capable of creating a crater nearly twenty meters wide. 225
  • Missile Bays — Produces and launches tracking missiles through Magnetic Force and alien technology. 271 272
  • Magnetic Energy Beam Cannon — A high-output long-range attack used at 90,000 Horsepower. 291

Cell Reorganization

Shishigami can repair biological damage as long as he has sufficient energy.

  • He completely heals Ando's cut finger. 214
  • He repairs Watanabe Shion's defective genes and cures her hereditary disease. 218
  • He cures Yuko's terminal lung cancer. 225
  • He believes diseases, including cancer, can be cured through this ability if his energy is sufficient. 214

Gene Fusion and Life Evolution

After fusing with Brandon and the spaceship's technology, Shishigami evolves beyond a purely mechanical lifeform.

  • He fuses with the spaceship, gains access to the Life Codex, and learns information about Krypton. 284
  • He absorbs Brandon's body and genes through liquid metal, recreating a living body around his core. 285
  • He gains laser vision and Ice Breath. 285 286
  • His evolved body survives in space without oxygen and moves freely in the vacuum. 290
  • He stores Krypton metal inside his core, eliminating its restraining effect on him. 285

Heavenly Magnetic Disassembly

A desperate, improvised self-destructive attack.

  • Shishigami develops the move at 70,000 Horsepower during his aerial battle against Inuyashiki and Shin Seok-heon. 274
  • The attack destroys his body but fails to kill his opponents; his surviving core later reaches Watanabe Shion. 279

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Mechanical core — His true surviving body after his self-destruction; supports virtual projection, liquid-metal construction, and life-essence absorption. 279 280
  • Integrated missile bays and thrusters — Built into his cyborg body for aerial mobility and bombardment. 214 229
  • Krypton metal — Used to restrain Brandon before being absorbed and stored within Shishigami's core. 285
  • Liquid-metal battle suit — Generated from Shishigami's core for Watanabe Shion; supplies her with virtual displays and combat protection. 279
