Background

Shishigami was transformed into a machine by alien modification. His brain became a supercomputer, enabling him to rapidly process information and take control of the Magnetic Force within his body. Though his altered body can conceal its machinery and resemble an ordinary human, the loss of his flesh-and-blood body leaves him internally unsettled. 212 214

His mechanical constitution proves unusually compatible with Magnetic Force. Unlike a biological wielder, he cannot generate bioelectricity through cells, but Magnetic Force merges with his machinery, powers his body, and allows him to increase his voltage by absorbing external electricity. 214

Bai Xing implanted Shishigami with a Magnetic Field Seed, giving him the foundation and insight of a magnetic-field powerhouse. Shishigami uses this advantage to expand his network control, intimidate the police, and pursue power with increasing confidence. 226

His attachment to acknowledged companions is the opposite extreme. He has known Ando Naoyuki since kindergarten, cures Watanabe Shion after she helps him, and values Yuko above all else. After learning that police are preparing to arrest him, he infiltrates their communications, kills the SAT team, and forces Chief Yamatani to halt further action by threatening his family. 226

Conflict with Ando and Izumi Shion

Shishigami captures Ando at Shibuya Crossing and tortures him for the deaths caused by the protest movement. Ando reveals Izumi Shion's involvement before Shishigami finally kills him. 234 235
