Background / History

Madara was the Uchiha Clan Head during the era of Senju Hashirama. His strength was considered unmatched among the Uchiha for a century, but Hashirama ultimately held the advantage in their final battle. Madara later left Konoha because of his beliefs, becoming a historical figure whose legacy helped justify the village's surveillance of the Uchiha Clan. 4 49

After obtaining Hashirama's power, Madara awakened the Rinnegan. He left those eyes with Nagato and arranged for a future resurrection, unaware that Black Zetsu had manipulated his path toward becoming a vessel for Kaguya's return. 282 286
