Background / History

Wu Zhangkong graduated from Shrek Academy's Inner Court and later became a teacher at Donghai Academy. He was a junior disciple of Leng Yu, the woman who adopted Lin Xiuran after finding him in the Far North. Lin Xiuran's name immediately unsettled him when they first met, prompting him to investigate the boy's identity. 8 40 74

His past is bound to both Leng Yu and Long Bing. Long Bing, his lover, was secretly the daughter of the Holy Spirit Church's Dark Hummingbird and had entered Shrek Academy to steal information. Her actions exposed Leng Yu after the latter's Martial Soul mutation caused her to lose control during a confrontation with the Dark Hummingbird; this ultimately led to the Holy Spirit Church targeting and capturing Leng Yu. Wu Zhangkong carries enduring guilt over these events. 74

After Lin Xiuran was attacked by the Xu Family's assassins, Wu Zhangkong found him and brought him to the hospital. He personally cared for the injured boy for two days, then gradually revealed what he knew about Leng Yu and took Lin Xiuran to her cenotaph at Heaven Dou Cemetery. 13 14 73 74
