Background / History

Gu Xiechen was raised under the protection of the Gu family in New York and had never previously left the city. Before his death, his father entrusted him with a red heart core containing a Blood Race Prince's essence and the nine core chapters of the Hanyuan Zhen Dian, a cultivation method derived through more than a century of study. His father ordered him to keep the Dao Embryo and cultivation art secret until reaching the highest realm. 22 24

A struggle for authority within the Gu family placed him in conflict with Gu Juechen, whom Gu Xiechen calls his brother. Gu Juechen ordered his execution at Gu Tower, deploying armed guards, fireball-wielding attackers, and an elder's Soul Punishing Yin Lightning. Gu Xiechen escaped into the sea, apparently died, and revived when the Dao Embryo restored his heart and body. He swore to return for Gu Juechen. 21

Unable to remain in the Americas because of the Gu Group's influence, Gu Xiechen joined the Hell Angels Mercenary Group aboard the Naked Angel. He immediately defeated the strongest of three thousand recruits, then earned formal recruitment by overpowering Maha with Innate Qi. 22 23
