• The sect is based on Junshan Island, in the center of Dongting Lake. The island is described as a blessed cultivation land less than two hundred li east of Wulong Mountain. 36
• Junshan Island has thirty-six Pavilion Mountains, nine of which contain natural spirit eyes. The spirit eye at Cangwu Pavilion Mountain has spiritual energy more than three times as concentrated as the one on Qianzhu Ridge. 576
• The Qingyu Sect built Yueyang Market Town centuries earlier, then later expanded it heavily: more than a dozen buildings were under construction, major sects were invited to open shops, and entertainment establishments were relocated there. 71

Divine Strike Technique

The Qingyu Sect specializes in Divine Summoning techniques. Its Divine Strike Technique communicates with gods and ghosts, allowing a cultivator to achieve a state of divine possession. 353 454

• A Qingyu Sect cultivator fighting at Wulong Mountain’s Heavenly Pit manifested a divine form with a flaming golden crown and phoenix-winged gilded halberd, then destroyed a demon vine with purple radiance. 66

Ghostly Divine Art

History

Wulong Mountain Campaign

The Qingyu Sect became involved in the Wulong Mountain region after rogue cultivators raided the affiliated Dongting Zhou clan. Its experts supervised a broad search, while Patrol Steward Hou Sheng questioned local cultivators connected to the incident. 36 50

The sect later placed bounties and likenesses throughout Wulong Mountain for wanted rogue cultivators such as Dai Shenggao. 59 During its subsequent sweep, it detained seventy to eighty cultivators in the caves of Ghost Dream Cliff. 61

At the Wulong Mountain Heavenly Pit, a single Qingyu Sect cultivator battled and incinerated a demon vine. Leaders of the Zhanglong Sect, Dongyang Sect, and Tianmu Mountain concluded that the Qingyu Sect had used the operation to hone a disciple while the other factions maintained an encirclement outside the mountain. 66

Following the operation, the Qingyu Sect released captured members of families and sects affiliated with the opposing factions, executed alleged ringleaders among the Wulong Mountain bandits, and released nearly a hundred other rogue cultivators. 66

Yueyang Market Town Expansion

The sect revitalized Yueyang Market Town through large-scale construction, inviting sect merchants to establish shops and relocating residents and businesses from Wu Chao Town. 71

During the Jingxiang disputes, Qingyu Sect agreed to Danxia Sect’s rare external quota for the Danxia Cave-Heaven trial despite being warned that entrants might not return. The ensuing sword contest was intended to determine which side would receive the trial opportunity. 126

Ancient Cave-Dwelling Claim

The discovery of a tombstone marked “Tomb of the Pampered Maidservant Ruyan,” signed by Qingyu Mountain Person, gave the sect a basis to connect the ancient cave dwelling in Dongting Lake with its ancestral lineage. 394 400

Jing Zhao recovered the tombstone and later presented conclusive proof of the sect’s ancestral claim. Jinting Sect ultimately accepted Qingyu Sect ownership of the unstable cave dwelling, which is expected to reappear only after decades. 400 420

Affiliated-Sect Network

The Qingyu Sect sought to bring the Three Xuan Sect into its orbit after the latter’s separation from Zhanglong Sect. Other major sects opposed exclusive control, leading to an arrangement in which the Three Xuan Sect could join any of the six major sects instead. 419 421

By this period, the Three Xuan Sect was openly treated as a Qingyu Sect-affiliated minor sect and later described as its vassal. 605 720

Investigations & Internal Affairs

• Patrol Stewards are responsible for investigating cases within the sect. Though their cultivation may not be exceptional, they act with the authority of the entire Qingyu Sect behind them. 36
