Background / History

Liu Xiaolou was raised on Wulong Mountain and began cultivating at eight under his master, Mister Sanxuan. His sect’s Xuanzhen Scripture follows an unusually difficult, deliberately balanced meridian order; after a decade of practice, he remained a poorly resourced Qi Refining cultivator at the second layer. 9

Following Mister Sanxuan’s death, Liu Xiaolou inherited the Three Xuan Sect’s three scriptures: the Xuanzhen Scripture, the Mili Scripture for Bewitching Incense, and the Yin Yang Scripture. He lived independently on Qianzhu Ridge, supporting himself through cultivation, spirit-field work, crafting, and opportunistic trade. 20 53

He refined the Bewitching Incense into an Incense Tendon and used spirit stones to open the Tianchi acupoint of his Hand Jueyin Meridian, improving both his cultivation and ability to protect himself. 13

While exploring Xingde Temple, Liu Xiaolou discovered the Nine Star Earth Fire and cared for the injured Lord Xingde. Their initially hostile encounter developed into a mentorship: under Xingde’s instruction, Liu Xiaolou refined the Lin Yuan Xuan Shi Formation disk over three months. 33 44

Liu Xiaolou entered a three-year marriage arrangement with the Su clan and became Su Wuniang’s nominal husband. The arrangement later ended in divorce; he retained compensation but was unable to take Susu, the maidservant assigned to him, from the Su household. 92 190
