Background

Qian Daoliu rose to Rank 99 alongside Tang Chen, becoming one of the two strongest Soul Masters of their era. Tang Chen narrowly defeated him in their first duel, but the two became friends and later explored Devil Island together. There, both men fell for Bo Saixi; she promised to choose whoever became a god first. Qian Daoliu understood her implied rejection and ceased pursuing her. 26 91

As Spirit Hall’s leader, he upheld its founding mission by ordering the suppression of Evil Soul Masters, offering free martial-soul awakenings to commoners, and providing Soul Master stipends. He eventually passed the Papacy to his son, Qian Xunji. 45

Qian Xunji’s abuse of Bibi Dong left Qian Daoliu convinced that the Qian Family owed her amends. After Bibi Dong killed the severely injured Qian Xunji, Qian Daoliu spared her despite her hostility toward Spirit Hall, both because of that debt and because she was Qian Renxue’s mother. 6 45

Following Qian Xunji’s death, Qian Daoliu personally raised Qian Renxue and placed his hopes for the Angel God inheritance on her. He later regretted sending her to infiltrate the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace, believing the assignment squandered her talent and isolated her through childhood. 45 141

His conduct is defined by responsibility, promises, and a strict moral standard; he refuses to abandon an agreement even when doing so would benefit Spirit Hall. 45 46

His mercy is not weakness toward enemies of Spirit Hall. He can forgive Bibi Dong out of guilt and protect Qian Renxue with deep patience, but he is willing to kill or destroy any force that threatens Spirit Hall’s future.
