Background / History

Before entering the cultivation world, Ye Fan was Zhou Tong's university friend. He retired from competitive swimming, studied ancient books, drank tea, and accepted the end of his relationship with Li Xiaoman. Zhou Tong remained difficult to contact, visiting Ye Fan intermittently while claiming to be cultivating immortality 5 22.

After arriving in the Big Dipper, Ye Fan experiences the cultivation world's brutality and is separated from Pang Bo. His reunion with Zhou Tong after four years gives him a rare connection to his life on Earth, though Zhou Tong's vastly greater cultivation shocks him 69.

Ye Fan's Primordial Sacred Body requires immense resources to cultivate and is burdened by a curse. He seeks ways to break it, considering the Primordial Forbidden Land and distrusting the internal politics of the Ji Family 77. He obtains the Hengyu Scripture, a partial Dao Palace scripture, and later the complete Dao Palace volume of the Empress West Scripture with Zhou Tong and Tu Fei 79 102 129.

Little Nannan becomes central to Ye Fan's survival and future. Ye Fan takes her in after she begs him for food in Yan's capital; she feels safest with him. When his Four Extremities breakthrough triggers the curse's Dao Diagram, she destroys it and saves his cultivation 131 134.
