In ancient times, Kong guarded Great Emperor Longevity's horse ranch. He reached the Myriad Transformations realm and came within one step of Shattering the Void, but became permanently stalled because he cultivated a martial art designed for human bodies rather than adapting it to an ape's physiology. 698
Rather than create a cultivation path suited to the ape lineage, Kong sought the Longevity Dao Fruit of the Shakya Treasure Tree to alter his acupoints and become human. He remained within the Longevity Secret Realm awaiting the fruit's maturation, eventually sleeping there for many years and declining from his peak. 698
