Background

Mei was recruited into Moth Chasers to Fire as an intellectual asset and initially served as a team advisor at her own request. She and Liu Bai directed the recovery of ChangKong City and took part in further regional recoveries, earning her a reputation within the organization. Liu Bai nevertheless encouraged her to prioritize scientific research over a command career at that stage. 120 121

Her research became foundational to several major Previous Era projects. Mei proposed the God Key project, collaborated with Mobius, and contributed to work involving Stigmata, super artificial intelligence, the Moonlight Throne, Honkai-energy sealing, and the struggle against the Herrscher of a Thousand. 120

Although not a frontline specialist, Mei could operate dangerous Herrscher technology when necessary. During the battle against the Herrscher of Domination, she used the Key of Emptiness to connect successively with the Third and Fourth Herrscher Cores before linking to the Judgement of Shamash for the final strike. 140

After hibernating for 50,000 years, Mei awakened in the Current Era with much of her memory following Liu Bai's departure missing. She assessed the new civilization's advanced technology and comparatively stable control of Honkai, then chose to remain in the city housing World Serpent while gathering information and preparing contingency plans. 136 137 138

She reassures Liu Bai that his efforts shaped her growth and accepts responsibility when he cannot bear every burden himself. 461 Her planning is generally patient rather than impulsive; after awakening in the Current Era, she declined to rush into action without sufficient resources or information. 138
