Background

Jinuo was originally an ordinary Chinese otaku with poor elemental aptitude. His five-element affinities were all rated D-class; his overall B-class GXI3 rating was achieved only through other factors. A mysterious phone application, Game of Life, changed his life and brought him into the supernatural world. He joined the Supernatural Affairs Department to gain the strength to survive possible Cosmic Arena conscription. 29

He first encountered Zhou Zhe as one of thirty-eight Supernatural Affairs Department students sent to study at the Swift Wind Pavilion. Initially impressed but reluctant to acknowledge someone younger as his master, Jinuo watched Dugu Xiu’s rapid progress and eventually accepted Zhou Zhe’s apprenticeship module for its learning bonus. 25 29

Jinuo later became one of Zhou Zhe’s core disciples alongside Dugu Xiu and Chang Hanshan. After competing with Dugu Xiu for the third-generation Swift Wind Pavilion master position, the two remained tied; Zhou Zhe instituted a four-year rotation system between them. 330

Jinuo is most often identified by the phone that hosts his Game of Life app, earning him the nickname “Mobile Game Guy.” His amber eyes are noted when he realizes Zhou Zhe knows the secret behind his Golden Finger. 27 61

Personality

Jinuo is sarcastic, theatrical, and highly competitive. He habitually provokes Dugu Xiu, often masking his own frustration or insecurity with mockery. Even after witnessing Zhou Zhe defeat Dugu Xiu effortlessly, he confidently declared that he would challenge Zhou Zhe after “developing stealthily” and becoming stronger. 27

Despite his bravado, he is conscious of his mediocre natural talent and frequently worries about falling behind his fellow disciples. He is prone to overthinking, indecision, and self-comparison, especially when faced with Dugu Xiu’s talent or Chang Hanshan’s breakthroughs. 29 67 79 208
